You were born with wings, why prefer to crawl through life. –Rumi
I had the pleasure of reading a collection of Rumi quotes published by Farnoosh Brock, of Prolific Living, in her new book, “Rumi A Photographic Gallery of Inspiring Quotes.” I learned that today, September 30, is the 805th anniversary of Rumi’s birth!
Happy Birthday dear Rumi. You have brought much beauty into the world since your birth.
I didn’t know much about this Persian poet, until I became active on Facebook. On Facebook is where I encountered many of his thought-provoking verses. Each of them is a treasure to be savored and shared for their timeless wisdom.
I’m sharing her book here so that you will make a beeline for Amazon and download it while she is still offering it for free!
I hadn’t realized it before, perhaps, because I only came across Rumi quotes one at a time, just how often his verses referenced intuition and spiritual awakening.
(I won’t share any of the quotes from Farnoosh’s book – I’ll leave you to discover them yourself. )
I was familiar with only about half of the verses in the book and, pleasantly surprised to discover a number of new quotes that I loved referencing intuition and listening to the heart.
So as not to take away from the surprise of the lovely quotes in, “Rumi A Photographic Gallery of Inspiring Quotes,” here are few that I found to share with you.
Rumi quotes on intuition, listening to the heart and spiritual awakening:
“Everyone has been made for some particular work, and the desire for that work has been put in every heart.”
“Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment. Cleverness is mere opinion, bewilderment intuition.”
“Silence is the language of God, all else is poor translation.”
“Only from the heart can you touch the sky.”
“Observe the wonders as they occur around you. Don’t claim them. Feel the artistry moving through and be silent.”
“Everyone sees the unseen in proportion to the clarity of his heart, and that depends upon how much he has polished it. Whoever has polished it more sees more – more unseen forms become manifest to him.”
you worry too much.
You have seen your own strength.
You have seen your own beauty.
You have seen your golden wings.
Of anything less,
why do you worry?
You are in truth
the soul, of the soul, of the soul.”
“Pilgrimage to the place of the wise is to find escape from the flame of separateness.”
Take a moment to click over to Amazon and download your copy of Farnoosh’s new book. You’ll be glad you did.
