There’s a big difference between intuition & wishful thinking. And the differences are maximized to the 10th power when your heart is broken.
Wishful thinking is trying to manifest a particular outcome in which you have very little influence.
You know it’s wishful thinking if you vacillate between faith that it’s going to happen and fear that it won’t. The fear stems from your attachment to the outcome and from not wanting to hear your intuition, which may be telling you otherwise.
When you’re attached to seeing only one outcome you will block your intuition from coming through. No matter how many times you ask for intuitive guidance you’ll find yourself unsure of whether your intuition was saying yes you’ll get back together or if it was just your wishful thinking. (Watch the video at the end about why wishful thinking blocks your intuition).
Don’t confuse wishful thinking for faith
Having faith is when you are confident that things are going to work out for the best and for your highest good, for all parties concerned—no matter what.
You know it’s true faith if you’re able to relinquish the need to control the outcome, meaning you practice non-attachment to how your desire will manifest or even if it will manifest at all. You have faith that a power greater than you knows what it is doing.
Understanding where the confusion comes from
What I’m referring to is what can be most confusing about knowing that we create our reality. So many people think that if they just maintain a positive outlook and visualize and keep seeing that something has worked out the way they desire it, that it will eventually.
The good thing about more people knowing about the LOA is that it expanded our collective consciousness to realizing that we can and do create our reality with our thoughts and emotions. The dark side is that many people may be “holding thoughts” believing that this is what you’re supposed to do to make LOA work.
When you “hold thoughts” you focus intently upon one specific outcome without allowing the Universe to provide an even better outcome or what might be in your highest good.
Say your greatest desire is to be reunited with your ex.
Or playing the lottery and hitting it big.
Is there a chance your ex could see the “error of their ways” and return to you? Yes, of course.
Is there a chance you could pick the winning lottery numbers? Yes, of course.
The two key questions though are – is it in your best interest to focus all your attention on trying to force this outcome and can you exert any influence upon the situations you desire to manifest? In other words what recourse do you have, what actions can you take to co-create the future you desire?
Obsessively trying to win the lottery or on getting someone else to do something is futile. The lottery is a game of chance. Nothing you do can change the odds. Even if you were to sell your house and use the money to buy 350,000 lottery tickets and try 350,000 number combinations there is no guarantee you would win (and people have done that and lost).
Holding thoughts about the return of someone who has broken up with you and moved on is also futile. If the person won’t speak to you, see you, answer your calls or letters and has made it clear that it is over then you are expending all your energy on something that is beyond your control to influence.
If you enter a sweepstakes where the winner is chosen based upon an essay or jingle or slogan you must create then you have an opportunity to take an action that could help you win.
If your ex is speaking to you, going to couples counseling or open to the idea of working things out and will see you then by all means exert every positive effort you can to get back together.
Plus, what other opportunities are you missing and perhaps walking right past that don’t see because you’re focused on holding thoughts about this one thing working out the way you want? The truth is opportunity exists all around us all the time it’s only our perception that limits us from seeing these doorways.
Understanding why we want certain things
If we examine our desire to “win the lottery” we will see that what we truly desire is financial security. If you truly believe you’re lucky there’s no need to obsess about winning, is there? You probably already “win” at things often.
When we are heart-sick over the loss of the love of our lives and continually focus on bringing them back what we really are pining after is “how we felt” when the person was in our lives. We felt “whole and complete.” We believe our happiness will return when this person returns when really what we’re missing is the “feeling” of happiness we had.
“Holding thoughts” holds up our future
When we wish for one outcome so intently we are telling the Universe that we believe we have all the answers. We are broadcasting that we don’t trust the stuff of the Universe to mix and meld properly unless we are in control.
To be overly attached to a single outcome impedes the creative spark of the Universe. Are you not impressed with the way the Universe “engineers” things and delights you with the surprising ways they manifest? Wishing for only this one outcome means that what you will get is likely to be devoid of the “creative spark.”
What is the Creative Spark?
It’s that magical spark that is created when the Universe orchestrates events in our lives. It is an act of creation that is above and beyond our small human control. It is when the Universe pours through us using us as a vessel to create.
It’s the synchronicity of bumping into a person by sheer coincidence at the dog groomer’s and falling madly in love. It’s sitting down at the computer and having an inspired piece of writing come through you. It’s an inspired idea for a business or new service that literally falls from the sky into your mind one day. This is the “creative spark.”
We can never recreate that – it just happens, courtesy of the Universe. It cannot be forced by sheer will. Your will is not creative and it will never be creative. True creativity is channeled through human beings from a higher power, what I refer to as Greater Intelligence. It never comes through using the rational mind or through the use of sheer will. Inspiration or true creativity is communicated to you from Greater Intelligence via your intuition.
Holding thoughts snuffs out the Creative Spark
If you “hold thoughts” about having the love of your life return you might “make it happen” but, like trying to bring back the dead you might end up in soulless zombie-like relationship. A zombie is “soulless” simply because when the witchdoctor brings them back to life they have no soul.
You cannot force your will upon another person, even if you think you’re only working the “laws of attraction” and not holding them by physical force. The act of focusing so intently upon one outcome, especially when it involves another human being, is an act of bondage. Why does a witchdoctor create a zombie in the first place? Because he wants a slave.
When you acquire anything through forcing your will you are creating bondage. Anything you acquire by this method will not be what you had hoped. It will be devoid of soul – devoid of the creative spark of life.
The only way to bring back the love of your life is to completely let them go. If they are meant to return to you they are going to return of their own free will. Only then will you have the happiness you desire.
When we’re attached to one outcome, especially when it involves love we ought to examine why we feel so empty with out this person. We need to look inside and develop self-love, more self worth and confidence. There is nothing outside of us. Everything emanates from within.
If we don’t have enough love for ourselves we will never truly find love outside of ourselves with another person. It will never be enough. We will consume the other person in an attempt to fill the void within ourselves and eventually push the other person away.
Holding thoughts means we aren’t living in the present
When you “hold thoughts” about something happening your aren’t living in the present moment. You’re postponing your happiness until this “thing” happens, whether it is the return of your soul mate or the winning of the lottery.
When you aren’t living in the present moment, you aren’t really living. Examine your desires and if you believe you are attached to a particular outcome and “holding thoughts” about it let them go. One big clue that you are holding thoughts is constant vacillation between faith and fear. One minute your positive you’re getting back together and walking on air and the next minute you’re completely down in the dumps.
Allow the Universe to provide you with your highest good or something better
Focus on the feelings having what you desire would bring to your life such as joy, love and abundance instead of upon one specific outcome. Let the Universe do its job, infuse your future with the “creative spark” and be delighted by the outcome.
Intuition is information that spontaneously appears in our awareness without any conscious effort on our part.
Intuition is our own inner wisdom and guidance. It is a small voice we hear often like a whisper, that gently nudges us to make the right choices and decisions in our lives.
It can tell us when we should be wary of a person or warn us against doing something and when we should act on an opportunity. It comes to us spontaneously and many times feels like an “aha” moment.
Intuition can also be the sense you have that someone is staring at you or walking behind you, before you even turn around and meet their gaze. In this application intuition is a sensory experience about the environment around you. It’s no different than the other five senses we rely upon – it’s just more subtle which is why some people are not aware of it.
Where does intuition come from?
Your mind searches for the answers hidden in long forgotten memory banks. When it locates the answer it deposits the solution in its entirety into your awareness, which is why often when the answer comes to us we experience intuition as a “light bulb moment.”
How to tell the difference between the voice of intuition and other thoughts
Intuition makes you “feel good” about doing something. You will experience a sense of “certainty” about it. The matter will feel “settled.” It will feel right and give you sense of connecting all the dots. Always go back to how this “voice” makes you feel.
Once the answer comes to you, if it came from your intuitive mind you won’t have any lingering doubts. You’ll trust it and feel sure and, you’ll feel it directly in your gut.
Deep down inside we always know
It’s only after we screw up by ignoring our intuition that we admit that we did in fact, “know.” Before we are forced to admit it, we’ve usually been in denial with our heads in the sand pretending everything was going okay. Does this sound familiar?
A sure sign you’re in denial is if you keep asking yourself the same question over and over and get the same answer but, respond with a lot of “yeah, buts.”
What you need to do is get radically honest with yourself. Put aside all your rationalizations and excuses and ask to connect to the “truth” of the matter. You’ll recognize when you’ve connected to the “truth” because your gut will feel as if its been “stabilized.”
Rationalizations are akin to lies we tell ourselves to make things “okay.” Rationalizing is not “real” therefor it has no weight, no real substance and cannot make your gut feel as if you are standing on stable ground.
Where most of us get tripped up
When our intuition gives us an answer we don’t like our ego tries to confuse us by making us doubt our intuition.
When you don’t like the answer you got usually it’s because you haven’t yet assimilated the lesson you need to learn from the situation that you’re looking for answers about. Intuition is often a “shortcut” to answers you need so, if you ask for intuitive guidance you’ll get the answer whether you’re ready to act upon it or not.
When a thought comes from the ego, often you’ll feel as if you “should do” it. You’ll be aware of your rational mind recounting the reasons why you ought to do it – why it “makes sense.” Keep track of the “yeah buts” that’s a big clue that you are rationalizing.
If you feel the voice is advising you to do something out of fear, or lack or that you should do this over that – it is NOT your intuition. This is the clearest way to know the difference.
It is never our intuition that is wrong but, what we mistake for our intuition.
The key is this…
They key is your gut. You’ve got to feel it in your gut. If you don’t feel it in your gut it’s not your intuition – it’s your mind rationalizing. Keep this in mind and you’ll distinguish between your thoughts and your intuition.

Intuition, Intention & Creating an Extraordinary New Year: 3 Keys
Do you want the New Year to be extraordinary and your best year yet?
Are you tired of struggling, feeling overwhelmed, stuck and indecisive, andhaving fear and insecurity undermine your success?
If so, it’s time to put the 3 keys to manifesting an extraordinary year to work for you and take control of your life.
The 3 Keys to creating an extraordinary new year are:
You must use the 3 keys together to create an extraordinary year by learning to listen to what your intuition has been telling you all along, creating an intention and plan around your desires followed by taking action.
Key 1: Why listening to your intuition and following it is important.
This is important because your best ideas and inspiration come to you through your intuition. You and every person on the planet is connected to a vast network of intelligence where every answer and solution already exists. Your job is to ask the right questions and then to keep an open mind about where and how the solution will appear. Your intuition is the vehicle that conveys this information to you.
When you ask for answers the greatest thing you can do to ensure your success is to have faith that you’ll receive them. Once you pose a question and have faith believing there is a solution the entire Universe will get behind you to bring it to you. Your subconscious will begin to search through each and every file stored in your memory banks to see if you already stored away the answer. In the meantime your faith and belief that an answer exists is telegraphed into the Universe where your request to search for this information begins.
Your brain and heart emit electrical impulses that can be tracked and measured using devices such as an n EEG or EKG machine. Did you know that these electrical impulses are not unlike radio waves that can travel far beyond our Earth’s atmosphere, our solar system and out into the universe? Every time you make a request your body emits these signals that travel deep into the heart of the universe. So, never doubt that your thoughts, feelings and emotions are not being “heard.” The Universe always gets the message and is always listening.
You’ll recognize what your intuition is telling you to do because the evidence to go forward with your desire will appear all around you in your environment. If you have a desire to leave your job and build your own online business you may start noticing books written by entrepreneurs that teach you how to do this. You may also turn on the radio in the car at the exact moment an expert in entrepreneurship is being interviewed. You may also begin meeting more entrepreneurs who left corporate jobs at networking events. These are all signs that the new path is being paved in your life. These signs show you that there is a way to accomplish what you desire. The Universe is telling you that other people have done what you wish to do and so can you.
A lot of people ask this question: How do I know I’m supposed to do this? What if it’s a whim and I fail?
If you have a desire that will not go away no matter how much you try to ignore it then it’s not a whim. A whim has nothing behind it. It’s a fleeting fancy that caught your attention just like a tumble weed rolling by in the wind. Once it has rolled past you it’s forgotten.
A desire comes from a deep place and is part of your purpose and mission in this life. This desire is propelling you to leave your comfort zone and stretch beyond what you think you’re capable of so that you further your education in “Earth School.” If you try something and fail–so what? There are no guarantees in this life except that we are only here for a brief time and then our body gives out on us. We are here to take full advantage of this life not cower in the corner afraid of it. If you are afraid to take chances and make the most of your life you will waste this gift that is only a brief moment in time.
Have you ever noticed how fast time goes by? Does it seem as if the last new year was just days ago? Life goes by so fast you must take charge and get uncomfortable at times in order to make the most of the time you’ve been given. So while there are no guarantees about success there is one thing I know for sure: by taking a stand for your life and going out there and acting upon your desires even if you fail you’ll be miles ahead of where you were before you tried.
Your education about what to do and what not to do will be the foundation you build your next venture upon. This seasoned experience will serve you well and lead to your eventual success.
Do not fail to listen to those whispers, nudges and desires that speak to you. They are pulling you toward expanding your consciousness of what’s possible for you which is their function.
Your desires are just like a river that runs through you.If you don’t release your desires into the world this river backs up and overflows your mental banks. When it floods it wreaks havoc upon your life. You’ll find yourself frustrated, stuck, overwhelmed, resentful, angry, unsettled, jealous, dissatisfied, and unhappy and constantly trying to stuff your desires back down. All of these negative emotions will spill out into other areas of your life like your relationships and your health because you’re blocking your growth and expansion.
If you accept that you have a desire and then channel it safely toward creating with it you will feel empowered and alive. This powerful urge to create and be more than you are now does not lose its power whether you work with it or try to squelch it. It simply releases its power causing either positive or negative outcomes in your life. Your intuition was meant to flow through you and pull you toward reaching your highest potential. Begin to recognize this and do not try to wall it off.
Key 2: Without Intention your desires are merely flights of fancy
Once you know what your desires are the next step is to create an intention around it.
An intention is a conscious acknowledgement that you not only have the desire but that you “intend” to make it a reality.
Allow the desire to take shape fully. Play with it in your imagination. Take this skeleton of an idea and flesh it out. Where do you want to go with it? How far? How high? How deep do you want to take it? Allow yourself to get excited about the possibility. Feel the joy of what it would be like to be, have or do what it is you desire right now in the present.
Your Action Steps:
1. Get really clear by asking yourself why you want it?When you know your “why” you’re more apt to be motivated to throw yourself into it 100 percent. The more deeply you create the intention to follow through on this inspiration the more you’ll get signs from the Universe of how to proceed. Your intention coupled with your faith and belief that it’s possible will be telegraphed to the Universe via your body’s electro-magnetic impulses and in turn the Universe will open new doors for you to walk through to help you bring about your desire. The stronger your intention the more often these road signs will appear.
2. To bolster your intention create an affirmation or mantra that you can use during the day should any fear or insecurity pop up about where you’re headed. This is part of the steering mechanism you need in order to captain your ship. When you begin to see that you’ve veered off course or are even listing just a bit you must pull out your mantra and steer yourself back on course. Every time you use it you are further cementing your intention into your being and it is being broadcast more loudly to the Universe.
3. Write down what you wish to create. Fill in every detail about your desire. Add dates by which you intend for it to manifest and read this statement every day. Each time you read it your intention goes deeper and deeper into every fiber of your being and this strengthens the signal of the broadcaster to the Universe.
4. Other ways to support your intention might be to write a letter to yourself detailing this desire and then seal it up and do not open it until one year has elapsed. You might also create a vision board for it or journal about it. Just know that the more clarity you have around it the more easily the path will be revealed to you.
The more excitement and emotion you can emit over it the stronger the signal to the Universe will become. The stronger your belief and faith that what you desire is possible the faster it will manifest. And the more you live and act from a place of certainty that this desire is already present in your life the more spectacularly it will appear in your life.
Always “let go and let God” work it out and allow it to be the manifestation for the good of all concerned. This vast storehouse of we call Greater Intelligence, or the Universe, life force or God has been around a lot longer than we have and surely knows a thing or two more than we do. When we let go and let God and ask that the outcome benefit the highest good of all concerned we are saying that while we are in partnership with it to co-create our lives we are humble enough to know that we ourselves are not the source of the power that flows through us. Our job is to let this great power flow through us and not to become attached to how it does what it does. When you are attached you will create a blockage that will be as damaging as the block we create when we ignore our desires.
Key 3: Ground your Intuition and Intention by taking Action
Take intuitively inspired action. This is the most critical of the three keys and where many fall down on the job.
It’s of now use to listen to your intuition, get inspired and excited and to create your intention if you don’t follow through and act upon it. This too creates a dam that eventually results in destruction. Any time there is an unfulfilled desire we are creating the potential for negative consequences. Suppose you take seriously the desire to build your own business and eventually hope to leave your 9 to 5 job. You put everything in place and over time begin making money. Eventually you make enough to feel comfortable that you can support yourself if you quit your job. But, you’re afraid and fearful about quitting your job so instead you keep trying to juggle both. You work tirelessly into the night on your business and the Universe keeps telling you “all systems go” by sending you awesome new clients or projects that are perfect for your growing business yet you still resist quitting.
How long can you continue to burn the candle at both ends? You’re exhausted. You resent the time you spend at your job because you know in your heart you’d rather be working on your business. You lose interest in work and call in sick frequently. You don’t feel well and your energy is low and therefore you catch more colds. You don’t have the stamina you once had or the free time to spend nurturing the precious relationships in your life because every spare moment is spent on your business.
Your spouse feels neglected. Your children never see you at their games anymore and you’re short tempered and have arguments with your partner. Eventually you begin losing clients who want even more from you but because you still have a job you’re not able to satisfy them. Now the business you once had isn’t growing but going backward. All the people you once had in your life are pulling away from you. You’re angry and resentful. You blame your job; you blame your responsibilities at home.
Can you see where this is going? You are headed in a downward spiral. And why did this happen? It’s a reflection of your fear and not taking action and letting what you built slip through your fingers. Don’t let this be you. Create a plan and take action this year. Make the coming New Year an extraordinary one.
Where are you stuck? What’s overwhelming you about making the coming new your your best year? How can I help? Share your concerns in the comments.
I want to take this opportunity to wish you a happy holiday and happy New Year! Thank you for being part of the Powered by Intuition community. I so appreciate you. Without you this would be a one-sided conversation.

Today I’m celebrating the 10th anniversary of Fran Sorin’s groundbreaking book, “Digging Deep.”
I loved “Digging Deep” and can’t recommend it enough if you are searching for the roots of your own creative genius.
The updated 10th Anniversary Edition of Digging Deep: Unearthing Your Creative Roots Through Gardening is a powerfully uplifting and transformative self-help book for the creatively and spiritually challenged. Overflowing with tips, exercises, and resources, Fran shares the lessons she’s learned from gardening over the past thirty years. If you’re yearning to cultivate more meaning and connection in life, the 7 Stages of Creative Awakening mapped out in the book will help you extinguish the stifling inner voice that says, “I’m not creative,” and replace it with strategies that will help you harness yourinstincts and live a life filled with joy and creativity.
1. What inspired you to write Digging Deep?
I was on all fours in the garden weeding one day when out of the blue, I realized that the transcendent state that I frequently experienced in the garden was similar to what I used to experience while playing the piano throughout my childhood and into adulthood. It is what Maslow calls ‘peak experience. It is this sweet spot—where you lose any self criticism or restraint, let your imagination run wild, take risks, improvise, and play – all the while being mindful of what you’re doing. This extraordinary state of being is where your creativity has an opportunity to jump in and take over.
Once I put the pieces together, the light bulb went off: I saw that this is how I had been creating my gardens for the past several years and wanted to share my passion for the creative process in the garden- and life- with others.
2. In Digging Deep you ask the question, “What does it mean to be creative?” So let me ask you, “What does it mean?” Creativity is simply the energy of making something new where there was nothing before. We have the potential to do this in so many unmarked ways—from designing our schedules to fashioning our ‘look’, writing birthday cards, to building a business from the ground up. Lawyers create arguments, decorators create ambiance, and parents create everything from learning to a sense of wonder. Every time we get dressed, make dinner, or wrap a gift, we can be creative. In almost everything we do in life, we have the possibility of conjuring up the spirit of inspiration, imagination, innovation, and resourcefulness.
Creativity is not something we do; it’s something we embody. I believe the ultimate goal is not to be more creative, but to learn how to live creatively.
3. What would you say to someone who thinks they’re not creative?
The first thing I would do is ask them why they feel that way. And then I would listen to their story of why they are living with this ‘non-truth’.
I would then ask them to share a time with me in their childhood when they remember using their imagination and being creative. It could be acting in a play, designing their own Halloween costume, decorating an Easter egg—children are so naturally creative that when a person starts remembering wonderful times from their childhood, some awareness of the ‘playful self’ begins to break through.
Once the ice is broken and an individual opens up, there’s an opportunity for them to look at how they may already be creative in certain areas of their life that they’re not even aware of. It also allows for an opening to discuss ways that they might want to awaken their senses and learn more about living creatively.
And finally, I would leave them with the following: that even if they don’t think they’re creative, every day remind themselves that they are. Write some affirmations and place them around the house and work place about your creative essence…..something simple like “Every day I am creating a joyful and beautiful life.”
. 4. In Digging Deep you talk about the 7 Stages of Creative Awakening. Could you tell us a little bit about them?
Sure. The 7 Stages of Creative Awakening is a term I developed that leads someone step by step through what I consider to be the creative process. The stages are: Imagining, Envisioning, Planning, Planting, Tending, Enjoying, and Completing. Although I developed them with the garden in mind, in truth, they can be used in all areas of life.
For example, Stage One is Imagining: The Sparks of Creativity. Within the framework of that one stage are chapters on Observing, Discovering, Remembering, Exploring, Opening to Possibility, and Playing. In each chapter, I break down the behavior being discussed, share personal stories, and include hands-on-exercises so that the reader can begin practicing and integrating these new elements into their daily life. I call it exercising your ‘creativity muscles’.
5. What simple steps can someone take, right now, to be more creative in their daily life, as well as in their garden?
I would suggest that you do something new every day. I use a phrase ‘Try it new.’ If you’re used to driving to work one way, go another. If you ask your kids the same questions every day after school, come up with some new questions (believe me, they’ll be surprised). If you’re in the habit of dressing conservatively at work because you think you should—well, gosh darn it, go out and buy the purple silk scarf or bright red tie that you’ve been yearning for and wear it—with a big smile on your face.
Make a pact with yourself that you’re going to do something new every day and follow through on it. It doesn’t have to be a big thing at all. But bit by bit, day by day, the small changes add up.

It’s important to recognize the ways fear disguises itself because it can and will sabotage your dreams if you let it.
Take Intuitively Inspired Action
One of the principles I often write about on Powered by Intuition is that of “intuitively inspired action.”Intuitively inspired action is when you act upon a gut feeling or intuitive knowing. The ‘nudge’ to follow a particular path comes from inside as a ‘pull’ you feel toward some choice or decision. This is “intuitively inspired” meaning it comes from our higher knowing, higher self, soul or what we call “intuition.”
When you follow the guidance of your intuition you are led to the choices and decisions that will bring you the greatest success. The pull you get about taking this action come to your awareness because you are ready to take this path. If it were not meant for you there would be no pull toward actually doing it.
This “pull” toward a particular path is how we are directed and guided in life by our higher knowing. To ignore this guidance is like driving by 100 gas stations when you’re lost and never stopping to ask for directions.
The moment you honor the “pull” and take “intuitively inspired action” you course correct and end up on the right road for you.
Fear Sabotages Your Dreams
Fear makes you a hostage to the status quo. It holds you back from taking intuitively inspired action or from carrying it out. It keeps you stuck in your comfort zone where nothing changes. When you are driven by fear you have all kinds of excuses about why you can’t do what you planned to do so you never achieve your dreams of doing great things. You must learn to recognize fear in all its disguises so your dreams won’t slip through your fingers.
The 5 Top Ways Fear Sneaks in to Sabotage Your Dreams
1. Avoidance. Do you avoid doing the things you need to make your dream a reality? Do you send for information but then never read it? Do you sign up for things but never respond when it’s time to confirm? When you keep avoiding what needs to get done opportunities diminish and doors close. Eventually you rationalize that you’ve lost interest in your dream. Avoidance is a disguise for fear of failing.
2. Procrastination.Do you procrastinate? Are you indecisive? Do you put things offand drag out what needs to get done until it’s too late? Miss deadlines? This sabotaging behavior is a disguise for fear of failing too. If you never finish technically you’ll never fail, right? It’s a pretty sneaky way of sabotaging your dream.
3. Overwhelm.Do you take on too much? When you dive headlong into things without mapping out the steps you feel overwhelmed. If this is a pattern in your life you fear there is never enough time. You feel you have to do it ALL right now! When you’re in overwhelm you shut down and nothing gets done. This is a disguise for both fear of failing and fear of success. Either way, getting overwhelmed and shutting down ensures you’ll never fail or succeed.
4. Confusion.Do you find the tasks you need to accomplish confusing? Are you unsure about what outcome you’re working toward? Confusion arises when you don’t have a well thought out plan and jump into things with a half-baked idea. This is a disguise for fear of failing by being left out or left behind by your peer group. It means you constantly compare yourself to others and allow fear to push you into things simply because you see others doing it. Fear of being left out sabotages success simply because you’re not going after a dreambecause it’s your true desire….you’re going after it because you feel you have to “keep up.”
5. Excuses. Do you make excuses about why you can’t do something? Is the timing wrong? Do you cancel appointments? Are you too busy? Does everything always “cost too much?” Do need to do more research and have more information first? Do you talk yourself out of it saying things like, “Well, it’s probably not all it’s cracked up to be?” Making excuses is a disguise for fear of failing too. Excuses hold you back from starting. When you never start you can never fail.
Do you recognize any of these behaviors? What sneaky way is fear keeping you from getting to your dream?
