Are there TWO different voices battling in your head?
One voice says, “Go for it! You can do it!” and the other one says, “Who do you think you are? Your’e not good enough!”
This is what self-sabotage sounds like.
Many purpose-driven coaches and entrepreneurs spend months and or, even years trying to make a real living from what they’re passionate about doing. They have a gift or talent they really want to share with the world but try as they might they don’t attract enough clients to be profitable.
Many people get caught in this traps and if you’re reading this I’m guessing it snared you too.
There’s no “magic” to making money with your products and services. It’s simple really. You create a product or program that solves a real problem and offer it to the people who need that solution and they buy it.
So why does it take some entrepreneurs so long to make it work? And worse still why do some awesome talented coaches and entrepreneurs never succeed?
The answer comes back to those two voices battling for control over you.
One voice is the voice from your true self. It’s connected to your intuition and following it empowers you. It’s the positive voice that “knows” you’re here for a purpose and urges you to live your purpose. This is the voice that knows your talents and abilities know no bounds. It urges you live up to your greatest potential.
The second voice is the voice of fear within you. This the voice that developed from seeing and hearing people in your life self-sabotage themselves or tell you that you weren’t worthy, capable or good enough. This is the voice of “misinformation” and it’s simply not true. Yet it is likely to be the loudest of the two battling in your head.
If you have these two voices pulling you in two different directions you will experience cycles of moving forward with your ideas and then cycles of self-sabotaging in order to stop the momentum.
Until you address the two voices and gain the upper hand over the fearful one you’ll stay locked in this cycle.
If you’re tired of being stuck and holding yourself back it’s time to allow your vision, your passion and the greatness that’s the “real” you to take center stage in your life. Right now. Today.
The only thing standing between you living up to your full potential is this demeaning voice. It is the teeniest part of you compared to how great you really are except that it has a mighty set of lungs and can yell the loudest. It’s loud voice drowns out the voice of your true self and intuition. This fearful voice undermines and sabotages you from making the quantum leaps you know you want to make.
If you could free yourself from grips of that fearful voice that saps your power and shrinks your courage you would share your great message with the world, wouldn’t you? You would inspire people with your story of how you healed your life with your healing modality or healing product or service, right?
And the world needs healing so badly right now.
It needs you and your story and what you do to help others heal and feel empowered and connect to their own greatness.
Your greater self has been pulling you toward living your mission and purpose. When the voice of fear is in control it drowns out the sound of your true self and intuition. It keeps you playing small and hiding from the spotlight that is meant to illuminate the path toward living up your highest potential.
To access this greatness in you that’s dying to get out you’ve got to see that voice and fear it creates in your life for what it is; an illusion. Think of it as being much like the “Great Oz” in the film The Wizard of Oz who was exposed for what he really was; a small man with a big microphone!
This illusion is just fear being projected into the future. It causes you to picture all the things that can go wrong and that stops you in your tracks from taking action so you stay stuck. But the thing is it isn’t real. It’s purely imagination and it’s 99.99 percent certain none of the scenarios that keep you frozen with fear will ever manifest!
When you shut down the babbling voice of fear you’ll hear the other voice and feel empowered, emboldened and excited about moving forward.
It’s time to shut down this fearful voice once and for all. Can you feel it?
When you override that fearful voice you will become whole again and connected to your inner power. The fractures created by the fear held your power and greatness at bay and siphoned off your energy and ability to rise up and live your bigger purpose. Being “whole” again allows your greatness to flow through you instead of staying trapped and frozen. When your greatness flows through you it can be felt by others and it inspires them rise above their own fears. It helps them connect to their own power and greatness and to step up and step out onto the path toward living their great purpose too.
When you heal and overcome the voice of fear you contribute healing to the rest of the world. We need more “whole” people who’ve overcome their own inner battles, conflicts, drama and trauma. The world is seeing an enormous spike in violence and it’s coming from the collective consciousness of all of us combined.
It’s time to shut down this fearful voice once and for all. Are you ready?
The way to shut the fearful voice is to realize your return to wholeness and contribution is needed. You would not be alive at this time if that were not true. If you inspire even one person to rise above their fearful voice and return to wholeness, who are you to withhold that from the world?
Listen to the “real” voice and do whatever it is your heart has been yearning for you to do.

Are there some goals you just can’t achieve no matter how hard you try?
Or if you do achieve them it doesn’t last or something happens and it all falls apart? If you said yes then it’s time to use your intuition to uncover your sabotaging beliefs.
Most goals fall under these common categories: Career, Finance, Health & Wellness, Relationships.
What’s most frustrating is when you are able to create success in a few of these areas but not all.
For example you might excel in the areas of Career, Finance and Health but not at experiencing the joy of happy, deep, meaningful relationships. Or perhaps you have wonderful loving supportive relationships and enjoy perfect health and fitness but you can’t for the life of you seem to create lasting financial prosperity. It may be that you have great relationships, financial success and great health but not a career you love….it’s just a paycheck albeit, a healthy sized one. In another example it may be you experience success in all areas except for your health; perhaps you just can’t lose the weight no matter how hard you try?
Does this sound familiar?
These are not an uncommon patterns. When we are not experiencing joy and fulfillment in one area of our lives this is big blaring SIGN that we need to pay closer attention to it. It’s likely that this is an established pattern in our lives.
If you resonate to having one or more challenging categories right now think back over your life and review your experiences in these particular areas. Is it a pattern? Yes? Then something’s going on under the surface that you need to examine now in order to experience success in this area in the future.
It’s likely you have some deeply ingrained limiting beliefs running in your consciousness that sabotage your success in this area of life.
Example of a Sabotaging Belief in Operation:
You’ve taken a new job. It’s a great next move in your career. Based on your previous accomplishments the divisional manager promised you a team manager position as soon as it opens up. You work diligently and do all the right things but you can’t seem to close a deal no matter how hard you try even though you brought in new business constantly at your old job. Every time you’re close to getting a new customer the deal disintegrates. You’re falling behind on your numbers and this is taking a toll on your confidence. Now you fear you won’t get the promised promotion when it opens up.
What’s going on? You ask for intuitive guidance and meditate on the issue.
After getting still a memory surfaces that helps you get to the heart of why you seem to be sabotaging your career.
Suddenly you “see” yourself back in grammar school. You’re running for class president of the sixth grade. It’s your turn to get up in front of the class and give your speech about why they should vote for you. You created a presentation that includes writing your campaign promises on the black board for emphasis. As you back up toward the blackboard you crash into the plant stand next to your teacher’s desk and fall backward knocking it over spilling dirt on yourself and everywhere. You’re mortified! And you’re not elected to 6th grade class president.
This memory leads to a realization that you are afraid to take a leadership position because you might embarrass yourself. You recall thinking at that moment that, “It’s safer not to stand out. From now on I’ll never volunteer to go in front of the class again!”
You go back into this memory and rewrite it. You see your eleven year old self stepping backward toward the blackboard but being aware that the plant stand was there. You avoid the plant stand, easily maneuver around it, write your campaign promises on the blackboard without a hitch and you become the next class president.
Now you can think about what happened without wincing in embarrassment. Your free to step up and stand out! The unconscious fear that held you back is gone.
The next week at work you close several new deals and a few months later when the team leader position opens up you’re promoted.
See how this decision to “not stand out” made decades earlier still runs the show?
How to Root Out A Sabotaging Belief:
1. Go within. Go somewhere you won’t be disturbed and get quiet and still. When you feel calm and ready ask your higher self or God, the universe, guides (whatever feels right to you) to help you tune into what’s going on under the surface.
2. Ask for memory about this pattern. Relax and listen to the first thought you have or watch the pictures that surface in your mind. Some people are more attuned to “listening” and others to “seeing.” Neither is right nor wrong.
3. Grab onto the memory. What happened? Who was involved? How did it make you feel? What snap decisions did you make as a result of this experience?
4. Do you experience a high degree of emotional upset when reviewing this past event? If so this is a sure sign you’ve correctly identified the right memory.
5. Review the decision you made. Did you make a promise to yourself in that moment? Ask for intuitive guidance about this decision. What feels right is usually correct. The decisions you made in the instant you were experiencing emotional turbulence are likely to have become the sabotaging beliefs that are now preventing you from achieving success in this area.
6. Rewrite the past. At any given moment there are innumerable possibilities to step into. You could have chosen differently in the past and that would have resulted in an entirely different future. Tell yourself that you made the best choice you could back then but it’s time to let it go. Thank your younger self for trying to protect you but tell him/her you’ll take over from here. Now go back now and change the memory.
Choose a different reality. See yourself making different decisions in that moment. Erase the old memory and replace it with the new one in which you made positive choices. Tell yourself that is now what you’ll remember about that day.
7. Test out the new memory. Replay the new scene you installed a few times. How do you feel now? Try to recall the old memory. If you feel removed from it and the high level of emotion you experienced earlier has subsided you’ve successfully collapsed the memory. You should now feel free and more energized and you’ll begin to notice things changing for the better in that area of life.
Do you have one area of life where things aren’t working? What limiting beliefs are holding you back?

You are Always Manifesting
When it comes to the Law of Attraction your outer world reflects your inner world. You attract what you are or what you focus upon most predominantly.
There is an invisible all pervading substance in the universe that organizes itself around your desires. You might call this responsive substance the “unified field,” “field of pure potentiality,” “morphic field,” “the universe,” “life force,” “source,” “infinite intelligence” or “God.” It doesn’t matter. It exists as surely electricity exists.
And it responds as reliably as electricity does when we flip on the light switch to our every “request” whether we realize it or not.
So, what are you manifesting?
Are you manifesting what you deeply desire and yearn for or are you manifesting what you say you don’t want?
You have been manifesting since the day you were born. You cannot help yourself. You are a creator. Creating is innate to your being and like it or not the field acts upon your thoughts and emotions. This interaction “creates” the circumstances of what you experience in your life.
This field responds to us
I like to think of the this field as an invisible “dough.” Some great intelligence mixed together “flour and water” to create it and the mixture sits dormant until it is given the key ingredient – yeast. Your thoughts inject the yeast that this mixture needs to “rise.” Every thought you think activates this mixture and makes it grow.
Where most people get tripped up
While most people today have an awareness of the Law of Attraction (thanks to The Secret) that it is a combination of our thoughts and emotions that create our circumstances they don’t take it seriously. This is exactly why we create a lot of what we don’t want in our lives rather than what we do want.
Each and every moment we spend contemplating (or talking about) something that upset us or that has gone wrong or even has the potential to go wrong we are transmitting a signal encoded with this information into the “field.”
The field is completely impersonal just as electricity is impersonal. It works for everyone no matter what you use it for and so does this “field.” It has no judgement around what signal it receives from you. There is no “good or bad.” It just responds and begins to “rise” or form around your signal.
You are a master at manifesting
You are a Master Manifestor skilled at the highest level. You get “everything” you ask for each and every time.
Unfortunately though because we human beings tend to have more negative thoughts running through our minds on a daily basis than positive ones we seem to easily manifest a lot more of our negative stuff than what we truly desire.
There is a silver lining
While you might have manifested a lot of the negative stuff you were unconsciously ruminating upon in your life you should take that as evidence that you are really, really good at manifesting! Look at how easily all that stuff appeared in your life. You didn’t stress over manifesting it, right? You didn’t sit around visualizing, creating vision boards or repeating any affirmations, did you? Nope. You didn’t have to. All that stuff just came hurdling into your life at light speed. And that is the silver lining that you can now use to your advantage.
Now all you need to do is get serious about focusing on what you do want.
You’ve been conditioned to focus on the negative stuff in your life.
We all have. The daily news we hear makes this quite evident.
Negativity always gets more of our attention because underneath it is fear. We fear for our safety and survival and that’s why we can’t stop listening to all the negative news stories. The news evokes our fears so, it’s no wonder that we focus more of our attention on what we don’t want. We live in a very fear-based world.
How to manifest more of what you desire
The secret of manifesting what you desire rather than what you don’t is to always be sending more positive signals into the field than negative ones. No one is going to be 100 percent positive all the time but if you can change the mix to more positivity in your thinking and emotion and what you talk about than negativity you’ll see immediate evidence of your efforts.
1. Go within. You need to create a sacred place inside of you that’s calm and centered where you can retreat from our very fear-based world. Doing this every day helps neutralize negativity so you feel renewed and restored and more positive. When you go within you’re reconnecting to the “field” or “source.” Think of it as “resetting the original factory settings” back to “positive” that you came with before you were completely hypnotized by our fear based culture.
2. Set the intention. You must create the intention to focus and talk more about what’s going right. Just like you were hypnotized to see the negativity in the world now your job is to create the intention to change that. Your new intention to see the good has to become part of your daily agenda. You’ve spent your entire life focusing on what went wrong so it’s not going to happen unless you put some effort into it. This is a life long habit you’re trying to change.
3. Commitment. It will take a commitment on your part to change what you focus on. The definition of commitment is being dedicated to a cause or activity. This is not something you can do once in a while and expect it to stick. You’ve got to commit to permanently changing your internal wiring to seeing the “good” in your life and the world.
4. Gratitude. The most efficient way to stick with building an attitude of gratitude is to keep a gratitude journal. Every day before you go to sleep write down at least 10 things you’re grateful for. Some days you might have to s-t-r-e-t-c-h to come up with things or repeat the things from the day before but do it anyway. An attitude of gratitude will completely change the signal you send out.
5. Celebrate. Celebrate everything no matter how small. Did you finish cleaning out the garage? Give yourself some little reward. Jump up and down and do a dance of joy. When you get in the habit of celebrating everything you’ll also be sending out a very positive signal to the “field.”
Do these activities each day and soon they’ll become deeply ingrained habits—as deep as the ones you’re now trying to change, and the evidence that you are a master manifestor of the positive results you desire will be undeniable.

Do you find it difficult to stay positive when you’re surrounded by negativity?
I’m opening up the Powered by Intuition Mailbag to share the answer to a question from a reader who asked how she “could stay positive and in a state of gratitude when she was surrounded by negativity.“
If you’re living in the midst of a situation that’s negative it’s very hard to stay upbeat and positive all the time.
And whether it’s in your home, workplace or within a social group it’s going to affect you.
The way to rise above the negativity is to become conscious that you have a choice in how you react. The moment you become aware that you don’t have to react to negativity your mind has expanded.
When I first began my journey with personal development and found out that I didn’t have to think the thoughts that just “popped” into my head but could CHOOSE my thoughts, it blew my mind! Wow!
You could almost hear the “screech marks” as the wild negative and sabotaging thoughts came to a halt in my mind that very instant.
“You mean I can decide what I’m going to think about,” I thought? This was a revelation.
So, what I want to say to you is that the first step in overcoming anything in your life always begins with mastering your thoughts. Everything we do in life begins on the “inside.”
Now you might be thinking, “That’s hard!”
And, I won’t sugar coat it….it is hard. You have to want it – bad. You have to desire to change more than you desire to stay stuck where you are in the negativity of whatever the situation is.
You also have to be disciplined and commit to doing it and be consistent about doing it.
Here are 5 steps to maintain your positivity when you’re around negative people:
1. To shield yourself from absorbing negativity focus on the things you’re grateful for in your life. To do that though, you must first “interrupt” the thoughts that have taken control of your mind.
2. To do this use what’s called a “pattern interrupt.” This is when you deliberately take an action to switch gears on your thinking. Using this is like applying the “brakes” to a runaway train.
When you take control of the train you can direct it to go where you want to go. And this is exactly what you want to do with your thinking; take control of it. When you’re in control and direct it you consciously decide what you want in your life rather than being a victim of life and taking whatever comes along.
3. Pick a prayer you like or a mantra you know well. I like using either the “Lord’s Prayer,” or a mantra from “Ho’oponopono” which is, “I’m sorry. Forgive me. Thank you. I love you,” when I want to interrupt and halt a negative thought pattern that’s stampeding through my mind.
Depending on the situation I might use this mantra from Sahaja Yoga instead: “I forgive. I forgive everyone including myself.”
4. Once you take back control of your mind and calm down again you can think rationally about the situation and decide how to respond and what you’re going to do rather than react on autopilot. You can take an inventory and see how much good there really is in your life and focus on that instead. Remember what you focus on expands.
As you make a habit out of interrupting the negative thought patterns you’ll also be breaking the “circuit”
that has you automatically become upset.
5. Overriding the body’s stress response means you’re mastering your thoughts. You’re now fully conscious to the process that was hijacking your mind and can put a stop to it. That’s being a victor instead of a victim.
If you use one of these steps you’ll get your mind off of the negativity and start to neutralize the negative emotions that are activating the stress response in your body eventually. I say eventually because without a technique to reset the nervous system’s ingrained response it’s going to take longer.
When the stress response (fight or flight response) in your body is triggered you feel anxious, scared, overwhelmed, upset and fearful and you’re ready to react at a hair trigger.
You’re body pumps cortisol into your bloodstream to prepare you for a “fight or flight” so you can protect yourself from danger. If this same “danger” (what you’re calling a negative environment/person) appears in your life again and again your “fight or flight” response will be set off at the mere sight or thought of this negativity. This powerful reaction becomes ingrained within your nervous system and hijacks your emotions and behavior unconsciously.
When this happens you’ll have an uphill battle trying to maintain your positivity because it’s no longer just a “mental” challenge to change your thinking but a physically ingrained habit within your nervous system that you have to restore to “neutral.” The fastest way to reset the response from your nervous system is to use EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or Tapping.
Are you surrounded by a negative situation or people you can’t get away from? How are you dealing with it?

Intuition, Intention & Creating an Extraordinary New Year: 3 Keys
Do you want the New Year to be extraordinary and your best year yet?
Are you tired of struggling, feeling overwhelmed, stuck and indecisive, and having fear and insecurity undermine your success?
If so, it’s time to put the 3 keys to manifesting an extraordinary year to work for you and take control of your life.
The 3 Keys to creating an extraordinary new year are:
You must use the 3 keys together to create an extraordinary year by learning to listen to what your intuition has been telling you all along, creating an intention and plan around your desires followed by taking action.
Key 1: Why listening to your intuition and following it is important.
This is important because your best ideas and inspiration come to you through your intuition. You and every person on the planet is connected to a vast network of intelligence where every answer and solution already exists. Your job is to ask the right questions and then to keep an open mind about where and how the solution will appear. Your intuition is the vehicle that conveys this information to you.
When you ask for answers the greatest thing you can do to ensure your success is to have faith that you’ll receive them. Once you pose a question and have faith believing there is a solution the entire Universe will get behind you to bring it to you. Your subconscious will begin to search through each and every file stored in your memory banks to see if you already stored away the answer. In the meantime your faith and belief that an answer exists is telegraphed into the Universe where your request to search for this information begins.
Your brain and heart emit electrical impulses that can be tracked and measured using devices such as an n EEG or EKG machine. Did you know that these electrical impulses are not unlike radio waves that can travel far beyond our Earth’s atmosphere, our solar system and out into the universe? Every time you make a request your body emits these signals that travel deep into the heart of the universe. So, never doubt that your thoughts, feelings and emotions are not being “heard.” The Universe always gets the message and is always listening.
You’ll recognize what your intuition is telling you to do because the evidence to go forward with your desire will appear all around you in your environment. If you have a desire to leave your job and build your own online business you may start noticing books written by entrepreneurs that teach you how to do this. You may also turn on the radio in the car at the exact moment an expert in entrepreneurship is being interviewed. You may also begin meeting more entrepreneurs who left corporate jobs at networking events. These are all signs that the new path is being paved in your life. These signs show you that there is a way to accomplish what you desire. The Universe is telling you that other people have done what you wish to do and so can you.
A lot of people ask this question: How do I know I’m supposed to do this? What if it’s a whim and I fail?
If you have a desire that will not go away no matter how much you try to ignore it then it’s not a whim. A whim has nothing behind it. It’s a fleeting fancy that caught your attention just like a tumble weed rolling by in the wind. Once it has rolled past you it’s forgotten.
A desire comes from a deep place and is part of your purpose and mission in this life. This desire is propelling you to leave your comfort zone and stretch beyond what you think you’re capable of so that you further your education in “Earth School.” If you try something and fail–so what? There are no guarantees in this life except that we are only here for a brief time and then our body gives out on us. We are here to take full advantage of this life not cower in the corner afraid of it. If you are afraid to take chances and make the most of your life you will waste this gift that is only a brief moment in time.
Have you ever noticed how fast time goes by? Does it seem as if the last new year was just days ago? Life goes by so fast you must take charge and get uncomfortable at times in order to make the most of the time you’ve been given. So while there are no guarantees about success there is one thing I know for sure: by taking a stand for your life and going out there and acting upon your desires even if you fail you’ll be miles ahead of where you were before you tried.
Your education about what to do and what not to do will be the foundation you build your next venture upon. This seasoned experience will serve you well and lead to your eventual success.
Do not fail to listen to those whispers, nudges and desires that speak to you. They are pulling you toward expanding your consciousness of what’s possible for you which is their function.
Your desires are just like a river that runs through you. If you don’t release your desires into the world this river backs up and overflows your mental banks. When it floods it wreaks havoc upon your life. You’ll find yourself frustrated, stuck, overwhelmed, resentful, angry, unsettled, jealous, dissatisfied, and unhappy and constantly trying to stuff your desires back down. All of these negative emotions will spill out into other areas of your life like your relationships and your health because you’re blocking your growth and expansion.
If you accept that you have a desire and then channel it safely toward creating with it you will feel empowered and alive. This powerful urge to create and be more than you are now does not lose its power whether you work with it or try to squelch it. It simply releases its power causing either positive or negative outcomes in your life. Your intuition was meant to flow through you and pull you toward reaching your highest potential. Begin to recognize this and do not try to wall it off.
Key 2: Without Intention your desires are merely flights of fancy
Once you know what your desires are the next step is to create an intention around it.
An intention is a conscious acknowledgement that you not only have the desire but that you “intend” to make it a reality.
Allow the desire to take shape fully. Play with it in your imagination. Take this skeleton of an idea and flesh it out. Where do you want to go with it? How far? How high? How deep do you want to take it? Allow yourself to get excited about the possibility. Feel the joy of what it would be like to be, have or do what it is you desire right now in the present.
Your Action Steps:
1. Get really clear by asking yourself why you want it? When you know your “why” you’re more apt to be motivated to throw yourself into it 100 percent. The more deeply you create the intention to follow through on this inspiration the more you’ll get signs from the Universe of how to proceed. Your intention coupled with your faith and belief that it’s possible will be telegraphed to the Universe via your body’s electro-magnetic impulses and in turn the Universe will open new doors for you to walk through to help you bring about your desire. The stronger your intention the more often these road signs will appear.
2. To bolster your intention create an affirmation or mantra that you can use during the day should any fear or insecurity pop up about where you’re headed. This is part of the steering mechanism you need in order to captain your ship. When you begin to see that you’ve veered off course or are even listing just a bit you must pull out your mantra and steer yourself back on course. Every time you use it you are further cementing your intention into your being and it is being broadcast more loudly to the Universe.
3. Write down what you wish to create. Fill in every detail about your desire. Add dates by which you intend for it to manifest and read this statement every day. Each time you read it your intention goes deeper and deeper into every fiber of your being and this strengthens the signal of the broadcaster to the Universe.
4. Other ways to support your intention might be to write a letter to yourself detailing this desire and then seal it up and do not open it until one year has elapsed. You might also create a vision board for it or journal about it. Just know that the more clarity you have around it the more easily the path will be revealed to you.
The more excitement and emotion you can emit over it the stronger the signal to the Universe will become. The stronger your belief and faith that what you desire is possible the faster it will manifest. And the more you live and act from a place of certainty that this desire is already present in your life the more spectacularly it will appear in your life.
Always “let go and let God” work it out and allow it to be the manifestation for the good of all concerned. This vast storehouse of we call Greater Intelligence, or the Universe, life force or God has been around a lot longer than we have and surely knows a thing or two more than we do. When we let go and let God and ask that the outcome benefit the highest good of all concerned we are saying that while we are in partnership with it to co-create our lives we are humble enough to know that we ourselves are not the source of the power that flows through us. Our job is to let this great power flow through us and not to become attached to how it does what it does. When you are attached you will create a blockage that will be as damaging as the block we create when we ignore our desires.
Key 3: Ground your Intuition and Intention by taking Action
Take intuitively inspired action. This is the most critical of the three keys and where many fall down on the job.
It’s of now use to listen to your intuition, get inspired and excited and to create your intention if you don’t follow through and act upon it. This too creates a dam that eventually results in destruction. Any time there is an unfulfilled desire we are creating the potential for negative consequences. Suppose you take seriously the desire to build your own business and eventually hope to leave your 9 to 5 job. You put everything in place and over time begin making money. Eventually you make enough to feel comfortable that you can support yourself if you quit your job. But, you’re afraid and fearful about quitting your job so instead you keep trying to juggle both. You work tirelessly into the night on your business and the Universe keeps telling you “all systems go” by sending you awesome new clients or projects that are perfect for your growing business yet you still resist quitting.
How long can you continue to burn the candle at both ends? You’re exhausted. You resent the time you spend at your job because you know in your heart you’d rather be working on your business. You lose interest in work and call in sick frequently. You don’t feel well and your energy is low and therefore you catch more colds. You don’t have the stamina you once had or the free time to spend nurturing the precious relationships in your life because every spare moment is spent on your business.
Your spouse feels neglected. Your children never see you at their games anymore and you’re short tempered and have arguments with your partner. Eventually you begin losing clients who want even more from you but because you still have a job you’re not able to satisfy them. Now the business you once had isn’t growing but going backward. All the people you once had in your life are pulling away from you. You’re angry and resentful. You blame your job; you blame your responsibilities at home.

Do you focus on your struggles?
Many times we get so caught up in focusing on what we don’t want that we forget that we can change our mindset. Have you forgotten?
If so, I’m glad you’re reading this. I forget sometimes too……and have to remind myself that I can change my mindset.
I like to think of my mindset as if it were a television. When I realize I’ve spent way too much time on a broadcast that depresses me and makes me feel worse I can change the channel. And you can change your channel too.
There will always be struggles and challenges in our lives. That’s just part of life. The sooner we accept this and find a way to navigate challenges without letting them dictate our state of mind the happier we will be overall.
It’s okay to be unhappy and upset when things happen. That’s normal and you’re human after all. There is a point however that we have to pick ourselves up and deal with what life has dealt us. We can’t wallow in our negative mindset and expect to feel better. Once the initial shock and pain has subsided it’s time to do what’s necessary.
The only thing we truly can control is our mindset
The truth is we have little control over any circumstances other than our mindset so, to let circumstances keep us focused on the station that reruns the same depressing show over and over is insane. We must choose to change the channel away from the one rebroadcasting the obstacles and challenges in our lives. Choosing to change the channel showing our problems doesn’t mean we ignore them. The problems are real and they aren’t going away unless we DO SOMETHING!
Doing something about our problems is the way out of them. No amount of wishing or visualizing and repeating affirmations is going to change things until we take action.
Want a better job? Get your resume cleaned up!
Want to improve your health? Get rid of the junk food!
Want a loving partner? Be the loving partner that you wish to attract!
Want to support yourself with your spiritual or healing gifts? Learn to market yourself.
But we can feel better while we work our way out of our problems. That’s what changing the channel is all about.
When you take action it’s important to focus on what you want and not what you don’t. Instead of focusing on how much you dislike the current job you’re in while you’re looking for a new one turn your thought process around. Focus on how you would feel if you already had a job you love. Tap into those emotions right now. Send out those resumes, call up old colleagues and see if they know of any openings and go to networking meetings while you’re feeling all pumped up and excited about already having this awesome new job.
You’re attitude pervades everything that you do. Feeling great, as if you already have a job you love, while taking action is going to open more doors than going around complaining and whining about your current job.
How to Change the Channel On Your Mindset in 5 Steps:
1. Define the problem. What’s eating you? Hate your job, dislike where you live, want lose weight, not making enough money?
2. What would you like instead? Ask yourself what you would like instead? A job you love, a home in a place you love, a healthy strong slim body, having more than enough money to have and do everything you desire? Be specific!
3. Elicit the emotions behind having what you’d like instead. Ask yourself this magic question: Why do I want “this” instead? Here’s an example: Say you are focusing on how unhappy you are in your current home. You ask yourself what you’d like instead and you say you’d like to live in a house overlooking a river in mountains.
Now ask the “magic” question: Why? You reply, “Because I love seeing mountains as far as the eye can see and I love seeing water. But why…….keep digging until you hit the emotion behind the reason you want what you want. You ask “why” again and the answer is because you feel blissful, joyous and at peace when you’re in a natural setting. So now you’ve gotten to the root of the emotion you want to tune into: joy and peace.
4. Change the channel! Put your attention on the beautiful way you feel in your new mountain home overlooking a river. See the house….the garden, the soaring mountains all around you and the sparkling water as it rushes downriver. Feel the joy and peace and the thrill of living where your soul is nourished.
5. Take inspired action. Now with this feeling in the forefront of your mind take the actions you need to take to change the circumstances of your life. Call the realtor you met in the grocery checkout line……..visit some open houses for properties along the river, clean out a few closets in preparation for your move. Indulge your senses in the emotions and experience of owning a home in your ideal spot.
I guarantee that if you change your channel from your struggles, problems and what you don’t want in your life to the channel that features what you want and makes you feel AMAZING and take action to change your circumstances your life will ultimately become an amazing reflection of the emotions you feel. Try it now!
What channel is your mindset on? What channel would you prefer to watch instead? How will this impact your life?
