Intuition, Intention & Creating an Extraordinary New Year: 3 Keys
Do you want the New Year to be extraordinary and your best year yet?
Are you tired of struggling, feeling overwhelmed, stuck and indecisive, and having fear and insecurity undermine your success?
If so, it’s time to put the 3 keys to manifesting an extraordinary year to work for you and take control of your life.
The 3 Keys to creating an extraordinary new year are:
You must use the 3 keys together to create an extraordinary year by learning to listen to what your intuition has been telling you all along, creating an intention and plan around your desires followed by taking action.
Key 1: Why listening to your intuition and following it is important.
This is important because your best ideas and inspiration come to you through your intuition. You and every person on the planet is connected to a vast network of intelligence where every answer and solution already exists. Your job is to ask the right questions and then to keep an open mind about where and how the solution will appear. Your intuition is the vehicle that conveys this information to you.
When you ask for answers the greatest thing you can do to ensure your success is to have faith that you’ll receive them. Once you pose a question and have faith believing there is a solution the entire Universe will get behind you to bring it to you. Your subconscious will begin to search through each and every file stored in your memory banks to see if you already stored away the answer. In the meantime your faith and belief that an answer exists is telegraphed into the Universe where your request to search for this information begins.
Your brain and heart emit electrical impulses that can be tracked and measured using devices such as an n EEG or EKG machine. Did you know that these electrical impulses are not unlike radio waves that can travel far beyond our Earth’s atmosphere, our solar system and out into the universe? Every time you make a request your body emits these signals that travel deep into the heart of the universe. So, never doubt that your thoughts, feelings and emotions are not being “heard.” The Universe always gets the message and is always listening.
You’ll recognize what your intuition is telling you to do because the evidence to go forward with your desire will appear all around you in your environment. If you have a desire to leave your job and build your own online business you may start noticing books written by entrepreneurs that teach you how to do this. You may also turn on the radio in the car at the exact moment an expert in entrepreneurship is being interviewed. You may also begin meeting more entrepreneurs who left corporate jobs at networking events. These are all signs that the new path is being paved in your life. These signs show you that there is a way to accomplish what you desire. The Universe is telling you that other people have done what you wish to do and so can you.
A lot of people ask this question: How do I know I’m supposed to do this? What if it’s a whim and I fail?
If you have a desire that will not go away no matter how much you try to ignore it then it’s not a whim. A whim has nothing behind it. It’s a fleeting fancy that caught your attention just like a tumble weed rolling by in the wind. Once it has rolled past you it’s forgotten.
A desire comes from a deep place and is part of your purpose and mission in this life. This desire is propelling you to leave your comfort zone and stretch beyond what you think you’re capable of so that you further your education in “Earth School.” If you try something and fail–so what? There are no guarantees in this life except that we are only here for a brief time and then our body gives out on us. We are here to take full advantage of this life not cower in the corner afraid of it. If you are afraid to take chances and make the most of your life you will waste this gift that is only a brief moment in time.
Have you ever noticed how fast time goes by? Does it seem as if the last new year was just days ago? Life goes by so fast you must take charge and get uncomfortable at times in order to make the most of the time you’ve been given. So while there are no guarantees about success there is one thing I know for sure: by taking a stand for your life and going out there and acting upon your desires even if you fail you’ll be miles ahead of where you were before you tried.
Your education about what to do and what not to do will be the foundation you build your next venture upon. This seasoned experience will serve you well and lead to your eventual success.
Do not fail to listen to those whispers, nudges and desires that speak to you. They are pulling you toward expanding your consciousness of what’s possible for you which is their function.
Your desires are just like a river that runs through you. If you don’t release your desires into the world this river backs up and overflows your mental banks. When it floods it wreaks havoc upon your life. You’ll find yourself frustrated, stuck, overwhelmed, resentful, angry, unsettled, jealous, dissatisfied, and unhappy and constantly trying to stuff your desires back down. All of these negative emotions will spill out into other areas of your life like your relationships and your health because you’re blocking your growth and expansion.
If you accept that you have a desire and then channel it safely toward creating with it you will feel empowered and alive. This powerful urge to create and be more than you are now does not lose its power whether you work with it or try to squelch it. It simply releases its power causing either positive or negative outcomes in your life. Your intuition was meant to flow through you and pull you toward reaching your highest potential. Begin to recognize this and do not try to wall it off.
Key 2: Without Intention your desires are merely flights of fancy
Once you know what your desires are the next step is to create an intention around it.
An intention is a conscious acknowledgement that you not only have the desire but that you “intend” to make it a reality.
Allow the desire to take shape fully. Play with it in your imagination. Take this skeleton of an idea and flesh it out. Where do you want to go with it? How far? How high? How deep do you want to take it? Allow yourself to get excited about the possibility. Feel the joy of what it would be like to be, have or do what it is you desire right now in the present.
Your Action Steps:
1. Get really clear by asking yourself why you want it? When you know your “why” you’re more apt to be motivated to throw yourself into it 100 percent. The more deeply you create the intention to follow through on this inspiration the more you’ll get signs from the Universe of how to proceed. Your intention coupled with your faith and belief that it’s possible will be telegraphed to the Universe via your body’s electro-magnetic impulses and in turn the Universe will open new doors for you to walk through to help you bring about your desire. The stronger your intention the more often these road signs will appear.
2. To bolster your intention create an affirmation or mantra that you can use during the day should any fear or insecurity pop up about where you’re headed. This is part of the steering mechanism you need in order to captain your ship. When you begin to see that you’ve veered off course or are even listing just a bit you must pull out your mantra and steer yourself back on course. Every time you use it you are further cementing your intention into your being and it is being broadcast more loudly to the Universe.
3. Write down what you wish to create. Fill in every detail about your desire. Add dates by which you intend for it to manifest and read this statement every day. Each time you read it your intention goes deeper and deeper into every fiber of your being and this strengthens the signal of the broadcaster to the Universe.
4. Other ways to support your intention might be to write a letter to yourself detailing this desire and then seal it up and do not open it until one year has elapsed. You might also create a vision board for it or journal about it. Just know that the more clarity you have around it the more easily the path will be revealed to you.
The more excitement and emotion you can emit over it the stronger the signal to the Universe will become. The stronger your belief and faith that what you desire is possible the faster it will manifest. And the more you live and act from a place of certainty that this desire is already present in your life the more spectacularly it will appear in your life.
Always “let go and let God” work it out and allow it to be the manifestation for the good of all concerned. This vast storehouse of we call Greater Intelligence, or the Universe, life force or God has been around a lot longer than we have and surely knows a thing or two more than we do. When we let go and let God and ask that the outcome benefit the highest good of all concerned we are saying that while we are in partnership with it to co-create our lives we are humble enough to know that we ourselves are not the source of the power that flows through us. Our job is to let this great power flow through us and not to become attached to how it does what it does. When you are attached you will create a blockage that will be as damaging as the block we create when we ignore our desires.
Key 3: Ground your Intuition and Intention by taking Action
Take intuitively inspired action. This is the most critical of the three keys and where many fall down on the job.
It’s of now use to listen to your intuition, get inspired and excited and to create your intention if you don’t follow through and act upon it. This too creates a dam that eventually results in destruction. Any time there is an unfulfilled desire we are creating the potential for negative consequences. Suppose you take seriously the desire to build your own business and eventually hope to leave your 9 to 5 job. You put everything in place and over time begin making money. Eventually you make enough to feel comfortable that you can support yourself if you quit your job. But, you’re afraid and fearful about quitting your job so instead you keep trying to juggle both. You work tirelessly into the night on your business and the Universe keeps telling you “all systems go” by sending you awesome new clients or projects that are perfect for your growing business yet you still resist quitting.
How long can you continue to burn the candle at both ends? You’re exhausted. You resent the time you spend at your job because you know in your heart you’d rather be working on your business. You lose interest in work and call in sick frequently. You don’t feel well and your energy is low and therefore you catch more colds. You don’t have the stamina you once had or the free time to spend nurturing the precious relationships in your life because every spare moment is spent on your business.
Your spouse feels neglected. Your children never see you at their games anymore and you’re short tempered and have arguments with your partner. Eventually you begin losing clients who want even more from you but because you still have a job you’re not able to satisfy them. Now the business you once had isn’t growing but going backward. All the people you once had in your life are pulling away from you. You’re angry and resentful. You blame your job; you blame your responsibilities at home.
Can you see where this is going? You are headed in a downward spiral. And why did this happen? It’s a reflection of your fear and not taking action and letting what you built slip through your fingers. Don’t let this be you. Create a plan and take action this year. Make the coming New Year an extraordinary one.
Where are you stuck? What’s overwhelming you about making the coming new your your best year? How can I help? Share your concerns in the comments.

Do you hide from the spotlight?
Are you keeping your special gift under wraps?
There are many heart-centered entrepreneurs who are blessed with incredible gifts but struggle to fill their calendars with clients. The problem is not that they lack the skills but that they shrink from taking center stage with their gifts.
Why would someone with a wonderful gift to share shrink from stepping into the spotlight?
The biggest reason is because they have disowned their power. This is a huge problem I feel energetically around clients that no one is talking about. And, it is especially prevalent in women.
When you don’t own your power you will push away opportunities to be seen and heard and to grow into your true potential both personally and in your business.
The are many reasons awesome talented women disown their power and hide from stepping into their full potential.
These reasons run the gamut from low self esteem, low confidence, body image issues, perfectionism, people pleasing, fear of rocking relationships by outshining partners, siblings, parents or friends, to a belief that they are frauds and not worthy of declaring their expertise, talents and gifts. I completely understand and empathize with women who hide from their power because I was one those women.
I didn’t want to rock the boat with any of my relationships. I held myself back for fear of outshining others. I was a cheerleader for others to reach their full potential but shrank back from putting myself out there. It took me many years to outgrow this but I did and since then I have become an advocate for other women who are playing small to avoid stepping into their true power.
One of the greatest quotes I have ever read on this very topic was written by Marianne Williamson in her book, “A Return to Love.”
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
I remember reading that passage and being absolutely stunned by it. Tears spilled down my cheeks as I realized that I had disowned my power just so that I would not upset anyone. In that moment something happened inside of me and I vowed that I would never again play small so that others could feel okay with themselves. I realized that was not my job. My job was to be the best I could be.
Afterward I began graduate school and later left my marriage. I was determined to change my life and take back my power.
Are you running from taking center stage in your life? Do you play small?
There’s only so long you can continue splitting yourself off from your power. At some point the angst inside at being disconnected from your authenticity will turn to anger and then possibly depression. Anger is very dangerous. It’s a danger to your health and to your spirit. The best thing you can do is to accept your gifts, your expertise and your ability to impact and transform others lives and then let your light shine as bright as it was meant to shine.
If you’re not sure that you fall in this category check out these symptoms to see if you’ve disowned your power:
1. Sabotage yourself by not following through on promises to yourself, projects or programs.
2. Have shiny object syndrome which causes you to “switch gears” by being drawn to the next big thing.
3. Trust the wrong people, don’t trust your intuition and need a lot of validation from outside of yourself.
4. Habit of getting stuck in “overwhelm” which stalls your progress.
5. Downplay your accomplishments and never celebrate them.
6. Compare yourself to others and decide what to do based on what they do.
7. Feel you don’t measure up and need further certifications.
You were given your gifts to help others and make an impact. Keeping them to yourself denies the world of your talents and light. To fulfill your life purpose and reach your full potential you simply must share who you are fully. Your frustration at being unable to break out of your income plateau depends on owning your power and stepping out from the shadows.
The world needs your greatness. Are you ready to own your power? What will you accomplish when you do?

The Intuitively Inspired Life & the Hero’s Journey
Do You feel Called?
A week ago I spent the weekend with Oprah, that is me and about 2000 other people who attended her “The Life You Want Weekend” event in Newark, New Jersey.
The topic of living the life you want and following your life’s purpose is extremely relevant for me. I left two major careers to follow my bliss; I hope to get it right this time. As you can see, I’m passionate about exploring, writing and sharing this especially as it relates to intuition so I was really excited to attend the The Life You Want Weekend.
Oprah spoke for two hours about her own journey to discover and live her purpose. Her life story is and has always been inspiring and she is a moving speaker. I’m a long time fan so it was no surprise that I was transfixed and, judging from the silence in the stadium so were my fellow attendees.
The second day she presented a line up of great speakers from Mark Nepo, Elizabeth Gilbert and Rob Bell to Iyanla Vanzant to further explore the topic of living your purpose and living the life you want. Each of them were inspiring in their own way.
Light bulb moment
I had a major ‘aha’ when Elizabeth Gilbert spoke about Joseph Campbell‘s life work studying mythology and the universality of the “hero’s journey” which he wrote about in, “The Hero with A Thousand Faces.”
The myth of the hero’s journey pervades every culture
In countless stories throughout the ages mythical ordinary people follow the plot line of transformation to overcome fear, challenges, obstacles, and slay monsters to emerge as the hero.
The myth of the hero’s journey lives on because of all the everyday people, like you and me, who continue to embark on this journey.
To live this journey is to be transformed from the ordinary to extraordinary. It isn’t something you can assimilate intellectually. It has to be experienced and it is the only way to truly reach your peak potential.
My “aha” moment took place when I realized that the “intuitively inspired life” is living the hero’s journey. I wrote about living an intuitively inspired life in, The Intuition Principle: How to Attract the Life You Dream Of.
Living an intuitively inspired life is:
When you feel that pull inside that you were meant for something greater and allow your intuition to guide you toward it. Following it you will be led on a journey to places you never dreamed of, you will meet with incredible people and opportunities that you never dreamed of and in the end what you will discover is your authentic self, your true greatness and your life purpose.
Face your fears and leave the land of your comfort zone, no matter the cost.
Answer “the call” to be more, to live a bigger life, to fulfill your potential and greatness by being the hero in your own life and by doing what everyone else secretly wishes to do.
You will return from this journey a changed person and….
You will become a person who now dwells in the land of possibility
You will become a person who says “I can do it and I will do it.”
You will become a person who says, “Why not me?”
You will become a person who leads rather than follows.
And, you will become the fearless hero in your own life story.
So let me ask you, “Do you feel called?” How long will you wait to answer the call?

Do you know your “Unique Moneymaking Proposition?”
Unique Moneymaking Proposition (UMP) is a term I use to describe the potential each of us has to harness our gifts to make a living doing something we love.
Spiritual and Intuitive souls are the first to overlook their gifts.
I have found this to be the case time and time again. Many clients I serve are spiritual and intuitive and they come to me looking for coaching around finding their life purpose. They desperately want to leave jobs they dislike but they are stumped as to what they can do instead.
Clue: Your Unique Moneymaking Proposition is always actually “hidden in plain sight.”
Why does your Unique Moneymaking Proposition appear to be hidden?
Most people are unable to assess themselves accurately. They’re blind to what others can see. This is why it’s so helpful to work with a mentor or a coach. They can see what you don’t and bring it to your attention. They will easily spot the things about you that make you unique that you take for granted.
Your UMP is always something you are already doing, probably since you were very young that comes naturally and easily to you. And that is why you take it for granted and can never “find it.” It’s too obvious!
When things come naturally and easily to us we tend to enjoy doing them. It’s not a grind. We are just being ourselves.
Why should you want to find your Unique Moneymaking Proposition?
If you long to find work that truly fulfills you start by finding your UMP. When you identify what your good at and enjoy doing you’ll easily find the right work. This goes for anyone hoping to start their own business, or those of you in mid-life or nearing retirement looking for your second act.
So how do you find your Unique Moneymaking Proposition?
Your UMP is completely intertwined with your passion, purpose, mission, gifts, talents and blessings. There is a system to unearthing all six and identifying the common thread that runs through all of them. When they come together so does your unique moneymaking proposition along with doing work you love and living a life you love.
If you’re ready to find soul-satisfying work you love doing that comes easily to you and be paid well look no further than your UMP.
End the frustration of doing work that doesn’t fulfill you. Change your life quickly by finding your UMP with my Discover Your Purpose & Prosper program.

Do you live for Saturdays?
Do you live for the days when you’re not at work?
If so, that’s a clear sign that you’re not fulfilled by the work you do.
So many people live by going through the motions on Monday through Friday wishing that time away just waiting for Saturdays or, even worse retirement.
If you work for 50 years before you retire you will have wished nearly 33 years of your life away. And if you retire at 68 and live to be 85 that’s not much living is it?
That’s an astonishing amount of time to wish away, don’t you think? There is a better way.
Do you work you love and stop wishing time away
The way to finding work you love entails some nitty gritty work but in the long run it’s worth it. Find out what you love doing and figure out a way to make a living doing it.
The are ways to take what you have spent years mastering because you love it and use all that stored knowledge to make a living at it. People are hungry to learn what you have devoted 20 – 30 years to master.
Do you think you are the only one with a burning passion about say, photography, knitting, building furniture, permaculture or whatever you can think of? No, of course not. But you ARE the one who has devoted 20 -30 years learning everything there is to know about it. That gives you a marketable skill you can monetize.
What if you don’t know what you love?
There are ways to solve that problem too. What I have found from working with many clients is that they always know. Deep down they’ve heard their intuition whispering in their ear. But they’ve buried this knowledge out of fear of what others might say or insecurities about their own worthiness to act upon it.
Your true calling is not hiding from you
Here’s an easy tip to find your calling: If you ask the people who know you best, “What do you think I’m passionate about and really good at?’ they’ll spit it right out. It’s that obvious to everybody but you!
How long will you wait?
How much time will you let pass before you act upon your calling? I can tell you from my own experience waiting for years or decades to do something about it is downright painful.
Take back your power and stop living for Saturday
Start now. Tomorrow is too late.
Here’s how to start looking forward to each and every day:
1. Take assessment. What you have become a self-taught expert in that people would pay you to learn in a short amount of time what it took you 20-30 years to learn? Make a list of these self-acquired talents now.
2. Eliminate the ones that do not light you up. Quick! Cross them right off – no second guessing yourself.
3. How many talents that you love are you left with? Make a nice new list of the ones that are left.
4. Review the new short list. Are these talents related? Can you find some way to weave them together? If so do that now. If you are only left with one that makes it even easier.
5. Brainstorm on the result. Take this expertise that people would pay you for to learn and start brainstorming ways that you can begin doing just that!
Special Offer: Impress me with your passion! If you’re ready to make big changes to your life leave me a comment below. Describe your expertise and what you plan to do about it. One commenter will win a 1/2 hour of free coaching with me. Learn more.
