Create the Right Vibration to Overcome Money Challenges
QUESTION: Today’s question comes from J.B. from PA. She asks: How can I create the right vibration to be rid of money challenges? Thank you J.B. for submitting this great question. I’m sure there are many people who are wondering this as well. (If you have a question you’d like answered subscribe – here).
ANSWER: To create the right vibration so you are “rid of money challenges” you have you think, feel and behave the way a person who has NO money challenges would think, feel and behave.
You have to elevate your emotional vibration above the level of fear, scarcity and worry to the level of joy, appreciation, gratitude and feeling secure. Essentially, you have to become a new person when it comes to the vibrations you emit otherwise you’ll stay in the lower level emotions, thoughts and behaviors and keep creating money situations that are challenging.
Let’s look at an example of how a person who has no financial challenges might be like with money.
- Responsible with money
- Pays bills on time
- Pays off debts or has no debt.
- Has a 6 month emergency fund
- Invests for his/her retirement
- Tracks his/her money and has budget
- Lives within or below his/her means
- Budgets for essential living expenses
- Budgets for entertainment
- Saves up for special purchases.
- Gives generously to others or charity
- Is disciplined and says no to spending when necessary
- Has extra discretionary income each month to “play” with
- Enjoys opening their bills and bank account statements.
After looking over that list what do you think it might “feel like” to be this person?
Would you feel really good? Capable? Confident? Savvy about money? In control of your money? Safe? Secure? Grateful? Generous? Free? Fearless, Happy? Joyful?
It’s likely you’d feel all those things. So, to raise your vibration and overcome your money challenges you must embody the attributes of a person like this and act “as if” you have already overcome your financial difficulties. When your thoughts, feelings and behaviors “match” those of a person who has no financial difficulties your situation around money will shift dramatically for the better.
Follow the three steps below to change your vibration.
3 Steps to raise your vibration and overcome money challenges:
1. Begin a practice of daily meditation on BEING this new person. Top athletes have been doing this for a long time. This practice is called “mental rehearsal.” Commit to going within and imagining with every all your senses how it would feel to be this person who has no money challenges. Create a detailed vision of you living that way and spend at least 15 – 20 minutes a day immersing yourself in this vision. You should come out of your meditation feeling those emotions stated above. If you do this every day your dominant emotions will rise to those shared in the example – and stay there.
2. Start thinking like a person who has their money under control. Ask yourself this question every day: What would a person who has their money situation under control do? And then do it. Would you begin to focus on paying off one bill at a time? Would you polish up your resume and look for a better job? Would you put your expenditures under a microscope and create a budget to live on? Start a savings account and be thrilled to see the balance go up each month? Whatever it is that comes to you each day commit to doing it. The more action you take the faster your vibration will change.
3. Stop allowing your current “reality” to dictate who you are and what you can achieve. What you’re going through does NOT define you. It’s just where you are now. Keep your eye solely focused on your vision, not your current circumstances. This doesn’t mean you don’t address problems in your current reality. You do what needs to be done but you don’t allow your emotions and faith to be pulled down by your current circumstances.
No matter what is happening today in your finances realize it can change and you have the power inside of you to change it. As you change your emotions, thoughts and behaviors around money you do become a new person. You become a person who is very different around money than the person you were before. And as you change inside the reality around you will also change. Absolutely – positively.
How have money struggles affected you? Will you follow the three steps to raising your money vibration?

Today I’m answering more questions from the Powered by Intuition mailbox on how to tell the difference between your intuition, a superstition and a suspicion.
This is an answer to several questions I received recently all rolled into one since they were very similar.
Several readers have written asking how to know the difference between their Intuition and their suspicions.
This is an excellent question. First off, let me say that many times there is no difference. Your suspicions may originate with an intuitive hunch about something. If you read my book, The Intuition Primer, you will recall I wrote about a suspicious incident that led me to call the police (I won’t spoil it for those of you who haven’t read it yet and tell you what the incident was). When the criminals were apprehended my suspicions were confirmed. In this case – my suspicion and my intuition were one and the same.
There are a lot of times however, that your mind works overtime. When you are worried or fearful you may also become suspicious. The way to tell the difference is to ask yourself am I a suspicious person? Do I worry incessantly? (Be honest!)
If so, you may be the type of person that worries all the time and creates suspicions out of your own fears and imagination.
Jealousy and the cheating spouse
One of the questions I got pertained to a cheating spouse. The writer wanted to know if she was just creating these suspicions by being jealous or were they real.
If you are jealous by nature then, yes, you may always feel suspicious. There’s also the point of view that if you are jealous you will attract a person into your life that gives you something to be suspicious about. Think on that for a while.
But, if you aren’t a wildly jealous person to know the difference between your suspicions and intuition think back to when you first became suspicious. If things were good and it was a particular incident that raised your “antennae” which caused you to start feeling suspicious you should take it seriously. I wrote an entire article on intuition and cheating significant others that you can read for more detail.
Again, you have to be honest with yourself. We always “know” when we “know” something. We hear the whispers and just know in our gut that it is the truth. Ask yourself if you have this “knowing?”
If you know yourself to be the jealous type you will probably find that the “FEAR” of his/her cheating on you was in your consciousness to begin with. Fear is always to blame when we get confused about “was it intuition or just a suspicion?”
Superstition and spirit activity
Another reader asks if there is anything to superstitions such as those about haunted houses? He asked this question because his sister and her husband bought an old house that people in town refer to as “haunted.” His sister’s family has felt nothing but he is a “sensitive” and feels the presence of “something” when he visits. He wanted to know if he was just reacting to the “superstition” or was his intuition really picking up on spirit activity?
In this case, I would say that it could go either way. Have you felt the presence of spirit energy elsewhere before? Does this feel similar? You have to go back and compare and contrast what you are feeling now with what you felt in the past.
Also, the less you know about who the superstition says is “haunting” the place the better. What you can do is relax and go into a state of meditation and ask, “Who is there?” See what comes to mind. Keep asking questions until you feel you have a description of whose energy you may be picking up on then do some research into the history of the home.
If you come up with the same energy/deceased people that legend says is in the house (without previously having this information) I would say you are picking up on something real.
If you are the fearful type (there’s that FEAR word again) then your mind may be playing tricks on you. Go back and review when you sensed the presence. Was there a specific moment? What happened? How did you feel?
If you were thinking about a presence before you went there and had fears about running into a spirit you may have “conjured” up the entire incident. When things are “real” they happen spontaneously. We aren’t dwelling upon them and the awareness of a spirit presence comes out of the blue unexpectedly.
I hope this helps. All the best visiting your sister for the holidays.

Happy Thanksgiving! Today’s article comes to you from the Powered by Intuition mailbox.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. –Melody Beattie, Author.
I receive a lot of email from subscribers asking for guidance with their problems.
Many people think that because you publish articles you must have all the answers. But, I’m here to tell you the truth: I don’t always have all the answers. I’m doing the best I can in life just like you are and learning as I go.
When I do have an answer or get an intuitive sense of what might be of help I share that with readers.
What I do know for sure is that, I learn a lot from answering your questions. Many times your questions make me think about things I would have otherwise never thought of so, for that I wish to say “thank you” for helping me grow as a human being.
Today I’m going to share the answers to two questions that are very timely due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
Why can’t I move forward in my life? No matter what I do I can’t accomplish what I want and nothing ever gets any better. I’m afraid my life is never going to meet my expectations. I’m in a pointless dead-end job and a relationship that’s not going anywhere. Please help my life stinks!
I’m sorry to hear that your life stinks but I have a feeling that it may not be as bad as you think. I don’t want to minimize what you are feeling and since I haven’t “walked a mile in your moccasins” this is just my take on it.
First, congratulations! You have a job and you have a relationship – that is already more than most. I’m also assuming since you didn’t mention it that you have a roof over your head too and food to eat?
One of the biggest reasons people find their lives stuck in idle is because they are impatient and want to transform their lives really quickly. The truth is though that until you become grateful for what you have right now and acknowledge your achievements to date you will not move forward.
Gratitude is the secret ingredient that most people forget to add when trying to create the life of their dreams. To get unstuck it takes a tremendous amount of power to go from standing still to blasting off! And that power is GRATITUDE.
You need to tell yourself a couple of times a day, no ten times, no make that one hundred times per day: I am grateful for my wonderful life! (the more the better).
I am grateful for my magnificent, miraculous body!
I am grateful for my fabulous health!
I am grateful for my high energy level!
I am grateful for my loving family and wonderful supportive friends!
I am grateful for my stable home life and the roof over my head!
I am so grateful for my job and the lifestyle it affords me!
I am very grateful for being able to pay my bills!
And whatever else you can think of to be grateful for.
You see, once you start focusing on all that you have right now you begin building up an enormous reserve of power within you. This is the secret power of gratitude that you can use later on to help you blast off into creating the future you desire.
Until you learn to see and be thankful for what you have now you will remain stuck. The Universe is telling you that you’re not yet ready to move into the life of your dreams because you haven’t acknowledged the life you currently have.
Give thanks for what you currently have and all you have achieved to date. Pat yourself on the shoulder and tell yourself how brilliant you are for what you have created thus far. Then throw that impatience of yours out the window and focus on today.
As you give thanks what will happen is that the power of gratitude within you will grow so big and so powerful that it will explode and propel you right into the future you have been dreaming of creating for yourself!
Contrary to what you might think we never grow a little bit every day but in huge leaps and bounds all at once. Gratitude is the energy that will eventually create a huge mental and emotional shift that expands your consciousness and moves you to the next stage of growth in your life.
So get busy getting grateful and then get ready for blast-off ’cause it’s coming!
My chronic aches and pains are keeping me from being at the top of my game. I know I could achieve a lot more if I didn’t have my chronic conditions holding me back. I do affirmations about my health all the time and also go for spiritual treatments such as Reiki but nothing makes me feel better or gets rid of them completely. I don’t want to complain but I’m ready to give up. Why can’t I get rid of my ailments?
I’m so sorry to hear that you aren’t well. I don’t know what I would do if I was in constant pain. I think you ought to give yourself a lot more credit for what you’re able to achieve despite being unwell.
I’m not a doctor – and I can’t give any advice as to your condition but I will share my intuitive opinion with you.
I’m going to refer back to what I said in question one. I think focusing on what is going right in your life will help. Give thanks for what you have and count your blessings.
I don’t think saying an affirmation such as, “I am healthy” when you’re not feeling well is going to accomplish much. It is telling yourself a lie. You know you don’t believe this affirmation so it doesn’t work.
Furthermore, if you have been to countless doctors and cannot get relief from the chronic ailments then maybe it’s time to shift your focus to what you can control instead?
Perhaps that is the entire point or lesson for you in all this? Maybe you would benefit from not wasting your energy on something that isn’t going to change? I’m not saying don’t try to get well or find a doctor who can help you but try to place more emphasis on what’s right with your life instead. I wonder if you began doing gratitude work if the severity of the ailments might diminish or go away entirely? I don’t know for sure but I don’t think it can hurt to try.
Also, sometimes we (including me) tend to think that because we are spiritual people, use affirmations, go to spiritual healers, do spiritual work on ourselves, etc., that our lives should be free of all problems but, I don’t think that is realistic. The only time we will no longer face problems and challenges is when we have died. My advice here is to not beat yourself up. You’re not doing anything wrong – you are just doing the best you can and that is all anyone of us can do.
I also think it might help to stop claiming ownership of the pain too. Don’t refer to these conditions or pains as, “my chronic ailments or pains.” Stop “owning” them. Every time you catch yourself doing this – give yourself a good sharp pinch and say, “No – stop it!” Get yourself out of the habit of making the ailments a part of you.
Offer assistance to someone who needs it and put your attention on others instead of yourself as much as all possible. There are numerous studies that show that when we help others in need we actually feel better too. I read somewhere that author, Neale Donald Walsch says that our lives are not about us but about how we affect others. Reading that impacted my view of life deeply. Perhaps it will help you to put your life into perspective too?
You are not your ailment nor your pain. I hope you find relief. In any case – do give thanks for all that is right in your life. I bet there is more than you think.
Are you giving thanks for what is right in your life? What do you have to be grateful for? Leave comment and let us all celebrate together.

Intuition: What to Do When Intuitive Insights Contradict One Another
Today I’m opening up the Powered by Intuition mail bag.
In the last few weeks I received several emails from readers asking very similar questions about what to do when their intuition seems to contradict itself.
Here’s an example of what readers have been asking:
Q. How am I supposed to trust my intuition when I keep getting different answers? One day I am being guided to do one thing and then the next day another. What can I do about this and why do I keep getting different answers?
A. For starters, I suggest you stop asking the same question over and over. Doing this will only confuse you and desensitize you to your intuition. Your rational mind will take over and begin posing as intuition and you won’t know the difference between the two.
Go back and review the first answer you got and try to recall how you “felt” about it in that moment? Were you aware of an emotional response to the answer? Was it positive or negative? Did you feel something physically in your body at the time. Was it a physically reassuring feeling or somewhat repellant? Remember, your first impressions both emotionally and physically are usually correct.
The other suggestion I have for you is to not be attached to the outcome. Many times the reason we ask the same question over and over is because deep down we want a certain answer. This happens when you are attached to following one course of action. If this is the case I suggest you just do what you keep wanting to hear from your intuition and stop asking. It just may be that this is “the answer” and has been the answer all along – so just do it.
Another way to interpret this is, if you are getting a different answer than the what you “want” not only are you attached to the outcome but perhaps, you are also on the wrong track! Your intuition is trying to tell you otherwise but you don’t/won’t accept this as the “truth” so you keep asking over and over and end up even more frustrated and confused.
The only way to deal with this is to surrender. Stop thinking about the problem and stop trying to get the answer. Just get the entire situation out of your mind and focus on something else for a couple of days. When you surrender and totally detach from one answer over another the answer will come to you. The answer will be very clear because your mind will no longer be cluttered and confused by all the distracting thoughts you had previously.
Regarding trusting your intuition – know that the more you follow your intuition and take action upon it the more you will trust. Trust comes from taking action and having a successful outcome based on following your intuition. It is normal not to feel 100 percent certain in the beginning but you must have the guts to follow the advice if you are going to become confident in your intuition. Trust comes later on as a result of listening to your intuition over and over.
Q. Another reader wrote the following reply to me after reading an article in my weekly newsletter. In this article I assured readers that they didn’t have to “see, hear” or believe that they were being guided by beings outside of themselves in order to receive intuitive guidance. The physical reaction of the body is just as reliable if not more so.
“I really enjoyed this newsletter and all of the previous ones as well. One thing that you mentioned helped explain much of the frustration I felt taking classes in the beginning. I would find myself getting tense or frustrated because I wasn’t “seeing” a person I could refer to as a spirit guide and therefore wasn’t tuning in very well. Apparently I put so much effort into focusing on a spirit guide that I ignored listening to what my body was telling me. You have given me a different way of looking at things and I thank you so much.” –Susan Reese
A. The important point is that you have access to an infinite amount of information. As I’ve mentioned here many times we are all connected and part and parcel of one vast intelligent organism. We cannot be separated from it or each other anymore than you can separate an individual wave from the ocean.
If you feel strongly that an ethereal being outside of yourself is guiding you and that works for you – great.
But, if you are having trouble tuning in know that you do not need to see or hear the voice of an intermediary. Some people never see or hear a guide yet they receive perfectly clear direction from their intuitive higher self. Know that all the wisdom and knowledge of the Universe is available to you directly. Just like any other belief system you are creating your reality even in matters of how you think you recieve intuitive insight.
As you can see in Susan’s note to me she was getting tripped up because she assumed that the way she would know she was receiving intuitive guidance was by seeing her guide.
Here’s what I advise: Let go of all preconceived notions of how the guidance is to come to you and be open to all forms and you will not block this information from coming through to your awareness.
Another method for attuning to your inner guidance is to become aware of how your body reacts when you receive the guidance. The purpose of tuning into your physical body is so that you can interpret what your body is communicating to you.
If you feel anxious or nervous or your stomach tenses up this is a sign that you should exercise caution or not proceed at all. If you get a sinking feeling that could also be a “no.”

Questions about hearing your spirit guides?
I get a lot of questions about spirit guides. I think the topic could use some clarification.
Question: I’ve never heard my spirit guides. I keep asking for them to speak to me but, I don’t seem to hear anything.
Answer: You don’t have to “hear” your spirit guides to benefit from their guidance.
Not everyone has clairaudient ability. Clairaudience is the ability to “hear” within the mind. Some who are exceptionally gifted with clairaudience actually hear the spirit world with their physical ears but, this is one of the rarest of the psychic abilities. So, do not beat yourself up if you don’t “hear” anything.
Question: What can I do to hear my spirit guides?
Answer: To develop clairaudience you can sit in the silence and listen. Practice active listening to attune your mind to listening to the ambient noise around you. See if you can hear the sound of the electrical hum in your home or a train whistle from a distant town. Sharpen your hearing and focus your attention to hearing all sounds around you.
Meditate daily. Learn to listen to your internal dialogue. Most of the time our intuition comes through via our own thoughts in our own voice. This is why we get so hung up on thinking we cannot “hear” our guides. We expect that we will hear a voice that is different from our own inner voice.
Question: Am I doing something wrong? I never seem to get anything.
Answer: No, you’re not doing anything “wrong.”
If you are getting “feelings” about decisions you need to make then “Higher Intelligence” is guiding you.
I believe most of the intuitive guidance we get is from “Higher Intelligence” or what we call our “higher selves.” (To read more on this topic see the section devoted to this in, “The Intuition Principle.”)
Carl Jung talked about what he called the “Collective Unconscious.” He likened the collective unconscious to “a universal library of human knowledge, or the sage in man, the very transcendental wisdom that guides mankind.”
We are no different than Dorothy was in the Wizard of Oz – we have always had the power within us to connect directly to the source of all wisdom and higher states of consciousness. That is why we have our intuition. It is the inner technology that connects us as physical beings to Higher Intelligence/Collective Unconscious/God/Spirit Realm. (Patti Foy of Lightspirited Being. has a great article on this topic).
As Jung pointed out, all the answers can be found in “Higher Intelligence.” So, don’t focus so much on where the answers are coming from but, on the information itself.
Ask yourself, “Is this information helpful? Does it solve my problem?” If so, that is really all that matters.
Questions: I’m confused about the subject of spirit guides. What is the best way to work with a guide?
It is confusing to many people because in the last 20 years or so there’s been this huge influx of information about working with your guides. The trend it established is that we should contact them whenever we need help in our lives.
I actually do not agree with this. Looking to something outside of yourself for all the answers is a way of deferring responsibility for your decisions. It also reinforces the notion that we are all “separate beings.”
I believe that since we are all ONE – and interconnected – even a guide’s consciousness is part of your own consciousness. So, whether the information comes from one entity or the collective unconscious is immaterial because it’s all the same consciousness.
Deferring to a guide also creates a barrier between people and the source of all knowledge. It’s like saying that we cannot speak to God directly but, must go through an intermediary. (Melody Fletcher of Deliberate Blog has a great article on this topic.)
My assessment is this: If you believe that you need a guide to get the answers – you will.
And, if you believe that you can obtain the guidance you desire directly from Higher Intelligence – you will.
Scientific studies over the last thirty years point to the fact that our experience of reality is malleable. We are, in fact, creating what we experience through our beliefs and this applies to our belief in guides as well.
The best way to work with guides is to decide for yourself which way you feel most comfortable and make a personal choice. If you find that working with a guide works for you then, by all means, work with your guides. If you are happy just asking for guidance and trusting what you get then that is what you ought to do.
I produced “The Intuition Principle Guided Meditations,” to help readers get intuitive guidance to solve problems in their lives.
The Intuition Principle album contains guided meditations to help you connect to your guides and meditations to teach you how to get intuitive wisdom directly.
The reason I created both types of guided meditations is because, I believe very strongly that some people are better able to get intuitive guidance directly from Higher Intelligence and other people feel more comfortable using a guide. There is no right or wrong.
Question: How can I tell the difference between my own intuitive guidance that of a guide?
I agree with Anna Conlan of Psychic but Sane on this; many times you will not know the difference between “guidance” that comes from your own intuition/Higher Intelligence or from your guides.
If you’re in meditation and ask for an answer and then an hour later while driving to work are “struck” with a lightening bolt of an idea that solves your problem – who is to say that this came from a “guide” or your own connection to “Higher Intelligence?”
That is why it’s best not to get so hung up on “labels.”
Focus on the results not the mechanics of where the info is coming from.
Question: Sometimes I just feel as if I’m making all this stuff up. How can I change that?
Answer: That’s very common especially in the beginning of working with guides/intuition. You have to trust what you get and relax.
If you notice I use guides/intuition interchangeably. This is because I don’t want you to get so obsessed over where the information comes from.
Answers can come from anywhere. They can manifest through signs and even through the miraculous works of other people as Julie Barrett from A Clear Sign points out in her hilarious article.
You can grow past the feelings of “making it all up” with practice and experience. The more you practice with your intuition the more you will learn to discern between when it’s your imagination and when it is intuition.
Also, stop judging yourself. Allow yourself to experience whatever you experience. When you judge yourself to be “making it all up” you inhibit the flow of intuitive guidance. Don’t worry about being wrong, try to have fun with it and not take it so seriously.
