What a fabulous collection of quotes! Thank you for inspiring me today Angela. Many of these I’ve seen and forgotten, others are new to me. I’ve always loved the poetic vision of Rumi. This one is so beautiful:
‘Let the waters settle, you will see stars & moon mirrored in your being.” –Rumi
Hi Sarah,
I’m so glad you enjoyed the quotes.
I too loved that one from Rumi!
Angela….
So many beautiful ones but my favorite by Herman Hesse…
Most people are like a falling leaf that drifts and turns in the air, flutters, and falls to the ground. But a few others are like stars which travel one defined path: no wind reaches them, they have within themselves their guide and path.”
As you know, I love quote and squirrel them away to for inspiration..xxoo
Hi Fran,
I had over 100 that I too had “squirreled away.” It was hard to trim down to only 49.
I’m so glad you enjoyed them!
Angela,
I need more determined action! xo
Tess,
You are one of the most determined people I know. And you take action too!
Cut yourself some slack girl.

I definitely relate to Hesse’s quote — I think I’ve played the role of both the “leaf” and the “star,” as he describes them — as far as my legal career went, like most lawyers, I “kind of fell into” the legal profession because I had a knack for writing, but I didn’t clearly examine whether that was what I wanted. I’m glad that I became able to consciously consider that question.
Hi Chris,
I believe so many of us “fall” into our careers when we are young without really thinking it through.
I fell into finance but, it was not something I could sustain an interest or desire in for the rest of my life.
I’m so glad you became consciously aware of what your true calling is. I love what you are doing now.
Angela!
