Please don’t read this if you truly believe magic exists.
The simple truth about magic is that magic isn’t real.
Magic is an illusion created by trained magicians and is processed by the mind of the person watching the performance so that it appears to be real.
Magicians are called “illusionists” for a reason
Magicians create their magic tricks through slight of hand and by knowing how the human mind works. They know that while they distract you with one thing another part of the “trick” can be put in place and you won’t “see” it happening.
Magicians use the advantage of our “selective attention.” Selective attention is our ability to selectively focus upon a task while tuning out anything else that might pull our attention away from the task at hand.
How we create our own “magic”
The human brain is programmed for pattern detection. We give our brain the command to find patterns in our environment when we focus upon something intently. The brain is the most powerful computing device on the planet.
So when your brain is given a command it will continue “computing” until it finds the answer.
Thoughts have creative power
Our thoughts and beliefs, both the conscious and unconscious ones, create the patterns we recognize in our lives. This why we say “change your thoughts to change your life.” It isn’t because of “magic, it’s because the super computer behind your eyeballs is framing your reality from moment to moment.
I don’t believe in magic
No, I don’t believe in magic. I do, however, believe in the power of the mind to creatively filter what we see in our environment.
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. –Arthur C. Clarke
Until we understand how things work we can chalk them up to being “magic.”
If you had shown a plane flying in the air to primitive people they would have assumed it was magic too. But, they would have been wrong.
Creating your reality
When you think about something over and over with great feeling you establish a deep neural pathway in the brain. Your brain begins rearranging your perception of reality around this deeply carved pathway. This is how each of us constructs our own reality.
Your experience is limited only by your own belief of what is possible. Your mind is creating the construct for your own personal reality at this very moment. If you believe that you can do something and set out to do it you are likely to accomplish it.
To accomplish great things discipline your mind
The person who sets a goal and achieves it has a desire and belief that they can do it. They work tirelessly at accomplishing the goal until it is manifested in their lives. Their brain has been programmed to recognize any pattern in their environment pertaining to accomplishing this goal. Wherever they go their mind pulls in patterns that support their beliefs to the foreground of their awareness.
Condition your mind with creative visualization, visioning boarding and positivity.
Create a “mind movie” of the thing you are working toward manifesting in your life. See it as being manifested in the present and feel the feelings you would feel if you accomplished this. This is even easier to do when you use the Re-Awakening guided meditation program.
Create an awesome vision board to seed your mind with “patterns” to recognize in your environment. When you create a vision board using the Life Vision Mastery program you are “priming the pump” of your mind to start selectively picking out the patterns in the environment which resonate to your desire.
Recognizing patterns is the key to synchronicity and serendipity! The more of these “fortunate coincidences” you experience the more easily you will move toward achieving your goals and desires.
Change how you think

Use the tools of modern day “magic”

please watch the demon magicians series on youtube, and tell me what you think.
I am not religious, but keep an open mind about powers and forces in the world we do not understand. The occult world of magicians has a lot of secrets and things that cannot be explained away simply. Remember we don’t know 99.9999999% of everything.
Hi J,
Thanks for your comment. I think there’s a difference between the occult world of magic and the world of “illusionists.” I’m sure there are some things that cannot be explained in the occult world….at least not yet. I do believe that eventually science will explain most everything we currently view as “unexplainable.”
Hi Angela, yes, it is pretty remarkable how, if I get unconsciously determined to see something in the world — particularly if it’s something negative like “people here don’t accept me” or “no one wants to hear my work” — I’m always going to find it, no matter how flimsy the evidence for it is.
Hi Chris,
So true! It’s vital that we work on unearthing and then correcting those false beliefs.
We will find whatever we are looking for – for sure.
Hi Angela,
I enjoyed your article on magic. It’s true! We can create our own magic. We have a wealth of resources that can help us create a magnificent life for ourselves. The problem is that a good majority of people do not know or believe this. They would rather believe that it is someone else who can do the magic.
Vision boards are great tools. They can be used to enhance visualization, and are particularly helpful for those who have problems in picturing mentally. They make excellent visual aides.
Great post that inspires us to create more magic in our lives! Thanks!
Love and abundance always,
Evelyn
Hi Evelyn,
I’m so glad you enjoyed the article. Yes, we do have ways of creating our own “magic” in our lives.
I love Vision Boards and of course your course is excellent on the topic!
Vision boards are a terrific way to “picture” what you want in your life and as you say, particularly for those individuals who find it difficult to visualize in their mind’s eye.
Love and abundance to you too dear friend!
xoxo
I actually got bummed at your first sentence about not reading this if you truely believe magic exists. It is more semantics in regards to the use of the word. I do know magic tricks are illusions/sleight of hand. I have been a huge fan of Houdini, David Blaine and other illusionists.
I have always seen the word “magic” as larger than just referring to illusions and tricks. I think there are lot of things in our world that are magical and I like to come from the belief of viewing the world more like a kid and believing there is real magic in the world, leaving room for divine and unseen forces at work.
That being said, all your recommendations are great and accurate for creating what you want through disciplined thinking, vision boarding, etc.
Hi Wendy,
I’m sorry to hear you got bummed out!
What I meant was that everything we think of as “magic” can be explained (with time) by science.
What was thought of as being magic by ancient cultures is everyday normal to us now.
It’s okay that we still look at things with wonder and feel as if they are “magical” it makes life fun, exciting and beautiful to live that way.
I just wanted people to realize how much control and impact their mind has upon their environment and lives.
Our mind is indeed a powerful thing. 🙂 You know, while everyone made New Year resolutions on January, my Mom always encouraged me to make wish lists and write just about anything I wanted – trivial and major. And we would look at the list at least once a month. By the end of the year, I almost always accomplished all of them – unless I had no control over it. Oh yes, I made a realistic wish list – and i had it in sight, reminding me. Quite like a vision board.
And yes, I am enjoying The Reawakening, too.
Wonderful post. Love, Vidya
Vidya,
I think a wish is list is exactly the same at its core. It accomplishes the same thing. I used to write down what I wanted and then put it in a envelope in a drawer and open it the following New Year – same thing. It worked too! It’s all about our intention, desire and focus, right?
I’m so glad your enjoying the Re-Awakening Meditations too!
Hi Angela,
Magic is so intriguing, but we do know it’s for entertainment. Love this line – “I do, however, believe in the power of the mind to creatively filter what we see in our environment.” Now there are so many ways to visualize our dreams, as we change our life. I like the idea of a ipad app as a convenient way to create a vision board. I have a vision board and it has an impact on my life that I never expected. Fun to celebrate the accomplishments, big and small.
HI Cathy,
I don’t have an iPad so I’m still creating my vision boards the old fashioned way with pictures and phrases torn out of magazines.
It is amazing how well they work to draw in what we want in life and filter out what we don’t.
Hmm, funny, I had actually created a vision board quite some time ago using a little iPad app, but I hadn’t looked at it for ages until you reminded me just now. I went and checked on it, and found that I had accomplished several of the items since I went there last – big stuff, actually, like “I work comfortably at home on projects that I am passionate about,” and “I am using my psychic abilities to help people.” I guess the affirmations were doing their work just sitting there! Pretty cool, huh? Sorry, but it still feels like magic to me! 🙂
Hi Jennifer,
That’s the beauty of vision boards. I have had the same thing happen to me over the years. They are amazing in their ability to focus and crystallize our energy upon our goals.
Hey, it’s okay if it feels like “magic” Jennifer. Don’t be sorry!
It is kind of magical when you think about it.
xoxo,
Angela
Hi Angela,
Yes we can create our own “magic”…the power of thought is amazing. Thankyou
be good to yourself
David
Thank you David!
I’ve used this method to manifest where I live and much of how my days go. It really does work even though it sounds like magic to many.
I used to be amazed at how two people could see the same bit of “reality” completely differently. Once I understood how people block out what doesn’t agree with their beliefs, it made more sense. For example, I’ve had people tell me something or do something that surprised me. When I repeat back to them what they said (word for word) or tell them what they just did, they completely denied it. I could tell from their tone that they truly believed that they couldn’t have said or done what they did because it didn’t fit with their views of themselves. So what may seem like a lie is actually someone else’s honestly different view of reality.
Love the programs that you mentioned!
Thanks so much Angela!
Dear Paige,
Definitely so true! We each see our world through the lens of our beliefs.
I’m so glad you loved the programs I mentioned too!
Love the concept of modern day magic tools Angela. And yes, I use all the tools you mention. In fact the year I met and married my Darling One I told a friend I’d be married by the end of the year…this was in January…he asked who it would be…and I said I hadn’t met him yet!. I had created a vision board, met my soon to be husband in February and we were married in December. 🙂
And he’s one of the reasons I’m the happiest woman in the world. Mind Magic indeed.

Hi Elle,
I’m so glad you loved this concept. I’m sure you use these tools. You are so tuned in to the ways we create our reality.
Aaah, I did the same thing years ago too! Wonderful!
