Focus! When I started to focus on my blog and my blog readers solely, instead of doing a hundred other things online, my subscribers jumped from 3,000 in August 2009, to 16,000 today. Have a blogging schedule, network with like minded bloggers, write your own products: free and paid for, and do it often, give your readers a reason to subscribe, and always have more than one way to subscribe to your blog: sidebar, one time pop-up to catch reader just passing, at the bottom of each post.
I has finished a degree in Psychology, to prove to myself I could do it and because I was interested in the subject, but I had never really put the degree to use. So I wanted a way to combine what I had learned throughout my life, and the changes I had been making, and the degree in psychology. I then came across Steve Pavlina’s blog and found the answer: blogging.
My expectations were that I could talk to a lot of people and make a lot of money, so from that point of view it definitely did not meet my expectations. However when I re-focused on my blog in August 2009 and I started connecting with my readers everything changed. The number of comments per post has jumped to around 40-50, the interaction with readers on my facebook and twitter page has jumped. It really is all about the connections and interactions and the money will follow.
Mind Alchemy will be blog based, meaning that every day for the month of February there will be a post on the blog with an an article and an exercise to do each day which will take from 30 – 90 minutes. There will also be 4 daily practices, which will be introduced over the 28 days.
To know yourself as much as possible is the greatest path to achieving your outcomes in life, without knowing why you do the things you do, you are not going to change much. This course is a rapid way of getting to know yourself and change your thinking, and ultimately change your life.
Some of the topics you will learn are: How to rapidly change your beliefs, unearth your principles and values in life, getting a clear picture on your outcomes, how to overcome fear, using your emotions to your advantage. There will be an exercise journal sheet to fill in most days, which you can keep to refer back to again and again. It’s going to be a fun way to change as there are over 600 participants between the blog and the Facebook group so being accountable is a big part of doing this course.
It’s important if you feel you are stuck in a rut and don’t know how to move on, or know what your next step is. Mind Alchemy offers a way and a community of people who are willing to make changes in their life.
The community aspect is the biggest part to the equation. If you hold yourself accountable to over 600 readers then that’s huge motivation to make changes in your life. Also, you will be receiving encouragement from 600 other readers 🙂
I have been working on this for the last two months, writing, tweaking and trying to think of ways to make it better. Between the course and the workbook I have written around 40,000 words, enough for a book 🙂
However this is the first time I have rolled out the course, so the reason it’s free is to get feedback. I want to make this a great course for change and getting everyone’s feedback at the end of the course will be great.
They say you teach what you most need to learn yourself, in some ways that is true. Focusing on self development has kept my attention on my own self development. I don’t think i would be the person I am today if I hadn’t been writing about self development.
Where do you see yourself and Change Your Thoughts in five years?
I am an ordinary guy, adore my wife and family above all else, and just want to chill and do the thing I love the most – help others change!

Hello Angela and Steven,
Steven I remember when you had your blog analyzed on someone’s site but I don’t remember who did it! I also think you are very generous with guest bloggers. I know I appreciated being on your blog twice. Bloggers don’t ever forget other bloggers who treat them kindly.
Just so you know, I appreciate you!
Tess, as ever you’re an absolute star. It was Chris Garrett who carried out the blog analysis, it was a good one as well 🙂 Thank you for your support and the amazing articles you have written for your blog and CYT.
Great article.
My gut feeling about Steve is that he is as you describe; a genuine guy who desires to help others.
Long may he continue.
Hi Marty,
Yes, your gut is right! He is very genuine about wanting to help others.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to see you again either here, or on the Mind Alchemy forum.
Hi Angela,
What a great choice for interviews 🙂 I first came to understanding the concept of Change Your Thoughts Change your Life from Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes. I like the Steve’s choice to call it Mind Alchemy – and I’m very curious about his 28 day program. I just joined 🙂
Great interview!!!
Hi Aileen,
Yes, that’s where that quote is from! I used to be a member of a Science of Mind church for years. Discovering Ernest Holmes and new thought was a life changer for me. I’m glad you enjoyed the interview.
Hey Aileen, be great to see you over there.
Hi Angela & Steve,
Great to hear a little bit more about the man behind the blog. Steve is so generous to other bloggers and wealth of information for all his readers. He deserves every ounce of success and prosperity. No doubt, there are great things ahead.
Hi Rob,
Yes, Steve is a very generous guy – and a busy one too. He also has a full time job aside from all his blogging activities.
I think this is going to be a very successful launch for him and I’m only too happy to help.
See you in the forum!
Hey Rob, thanks for your kind words. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know a little more about you over the last year and hope that continues this year as well, you’re doing great things just now.
I have already signed up for Steve’s free program and look forward to learning more from everyone participating in the process as well 🙂
Thanks for sharing more about Steve in this interview!
