Dreams are a valuable source of intuitive guidance.
Dreams are an easy way to begin accessing your intuitive wisdom. No one has to teach you how to go to sleep or how to have a dream. You’re already an expert. There’s only one thing to master and that is recalling your dream.
The two most valuable types of dreams are the intuitive guidance dream and the precognitive dream.
An intuitive guidance dream gives you an answer to a problem in your life and/or insight into a challenge your are facing in life.
A precognitive dream foretells of a future event.
Just recently I two such dreams in one night.
The first one was so unusual that I woke up from it, which is probably why I remembered it so vividly.
I was standing on the sidewalk when a car turned in from the street to a driveway. As the car stopped next to me waiting for the garage doors to go up, I saw a young man in his forties with a bandage on his head in the passenger seat. He turned to look at me. I was startled to see that his eyes were rolling around in his head.
An older silver-haired gentleman was driving the car. As the garage doors went up I saw there was an operating room set up at the back of the garage. In a “flash” I realized the silver haired man was a “Hannibal Lechter” type and he had been slowly cannibalizing this man’s brain. The older gentleman had been eying me while he waited for the doors to open. I suddenly thought, “I better get away from here before I become his next victim.” (more…)

Everyone wants to live a bigger, better more fulfilling and meaningful life. And you can when you learn to listen and follow your intuition.
The role of intuition
Your intuition is guidance that comes directly from your higher self or as some prefer to call it the Soul. Your intuition speaks to you constantly whether you hear it or not. It is always trying to move you in the direction of your highest good by pushing you toward growth so that you can live the bigger life you dream of. When you are stuck in an unhappy point in your life, it’s because you’re not heeding the call from your intuition to grow from one phase of awakening to the next.
Finding your purpose
“The lost posts and best of Powered by Intuition” celebrates Powered by Intuition’s four year anniversary.
My goal since 2010 has been to “demystify” intuition and introduce more people to this natural sensing ability. Since I began writing for Powered by Intuition, the subject of intuition has become much more mainstream and for that I am glad.
I approach intuition much as I approach everything in life; from a very practical stand point. If you are a regular reader of PbI you know that I share information which I believe will make you not only successful in using your intuition but in applying it in order to be more successful in life in general.
Our intuition is a sense that is there to inform us about our environment just like the other known five senses. And, it is to be developed and used otherwise we wouldn’t have it.
When you learn to apply your intuition you become aware of the incredible amount of subtle information that is being transmitted to you from your environment. This information is extremely insightful and is exactly the type of intelligence that will help you to make better choices in life and in turn lead you to living more successfully.
Since January of 2010 I’ve written countless articles for Powered by Intuition. After a couple of years the older posts get buried and new readers never see them yet, they are really worth reading. Rather than have readers dig for these buried posts I’ve put them all in a tidy list for you. The list also includes many self-development favorites as well.
Here’s the list of 25 “lost” and best PbI posts.

Today I’m answering more questions from the Powered by Intuition mailbox on how to tell the difference between your intuition, a superstition and a suspicion.
This is an answer to several questions I received recently all rolled into one since they were very similar.
Several readers have written asking how to know the difference between their Intuition and their suspicions.
This is an excellent question. First off, let me say that many times there is no difference. Your suspicions may originate with an intuitive hunch about something. If you read my book, The Intuition Primer, you will recall I wrote about a suspicious incident that led me to call the police (I won’t spoil it for those of you who haven’t read it yet and tell you what the incident was). When the criminals were apprehended my suspicions were confirmed. In this case – my suspicion and my intuition were one and the same.
There are a lot of times however, that your mind works overtime. When you are worried or fearful you may also become suspicious. The way to tell the difference is to ask yourself am I a suspicious person? Do I worry incessantly? (Be honest!)
If so, you may be the type of person that worries all the time and creates suspicions out of your own fears and imagination.
Jealousy and the cheating spouse
One of the questions I got pertained to a cheating spouse. The writer wanted to know if she was just creating these suspicions by being jealous or were they real.
If you are jealous by nature then, yes, you may always feel suspicious. There’s also the point of view that if you are jealous you will attract a person into your life that gives you something to be suspicious about. Think on that for a while.
But, if you aren’t a wildly jealous person to know the difference between your suspicions and intuition think back to when you first became suspicious. If things were good and it was a particular incident that raised your “antennae” which caused you to start feeling suspicious you should take it seriously. I wrote an entire article on intuition and cheating significant others that you can read for more detail.
Again, you have to be honest with yourself. We always “know” when we “know” something. We hear the whispers and just know in our gut that it is the truth. Ask yourself if you have this “knowing?”
If you know yourself to be the jealous type you will probably find that the “FEAR” of his/her cheating on you was in your consciousness to begin with. Fear is always to blame when we get confused about “was it intuition or just a suspicion?”
Superstition and spirit activity
Another reader asks if there is anything to superstitions such as those about haunted houses? He asked this question because his sister and her husband bought an old house that people in town refer to as “haunted.” His sister’s family has felt nothing but he is a “sensitive” and feels the presence of “something” when he visits. He wanted to know if he was just reacting to the “superstition” or was his intuition really picking up on spirit activity?
In this case, I would say that it could go either way. Have you felt the presence of spirit energy elsewhere before? Does this feel similar? You have to go back and compare and contrast what you are feeling now with what you felt in the past.
Also, the less you know about who the superstition says is “haunting” the place the better. What you can do is relax and go into a state of meditation and ask, “Who is there?” See what comes to mind. Keep asking questions until you feel you have a description of whose energy you may be picking up on then do some research into the history of the home.
If you come up with the same energy/deceased people that legend says is in the house (without previously having this information) I would say you are picking up on something real.
If you are the fearful type (there’s that FEAR word again) then your mind may be playing tricks on you. Go back and review when you sensed the presence. Was there a specific moment? What happened? How did you feel?
If you were thinking about a presence before you went there and had fears about running into a spirit you may have “conjured” up the entire incident. When things are “real” they happen spontaneously. We aren’t dwelling upon them and the awareness of a spirit presence comes out of the blue unexpectedly.
I hope this helps. All the best visiting your sister for the holidays.

Intuition Stories of Guidance for Your Life
Everyone is intuitive.
Our intuition is a primal sense that has been with us since mankind stood upright. It is there to warn us about danger in our environment.
Have you ever had the feeling someone was following you? This feeling is the intuitive knowing you get to warn you that you may be in danger. Feeling that someone is there you turn round and see them and then RUN which saves your life.
Intuition does come through differently for everyone though and sometimes it can be confusing. Read these three stories to get a sense of how intuitive insight shows up for these writers.
The more you know about how intuition works the more likely you are to recognize it in your own life. And, the more you follow your intuition the more confident you will become in trusting it and the more successful you will be in your life.
Intuitive guidance for relationships:
My husband and I were having issues early in our marriage. We were butting heads and our arguments seemed to be getting worse.
I had reached the point where I had had enough and was ready to walk.
Just before I told my husband that I was done, something stopped me. I suddenly realized that I was following a pattern. I started to see how I had done this in every other relationship I had ever had.
I remember the voice of my intuition saying to me quite firmly, “Not this time. Stay. Learn something. You can always leave later. For now, stay.”
It was tough to stay but I did. For the first time in my life I realized that I had to work on myself. The problems in my life weren’t always someone else’s fault.
If I kept experiencing the same kinds of relationship issues, regardless of who I was with or where I lived, then I must be a big part of it. Like Jon Kabat-Zinn says, “Wherever you go, there you are.”
I put my relationship on hold while I saw a therapist and did some deep work on myself. The more I changed, the more my husband seemed to change into the person I had been looking for.
Our marriage improved. Since then, I’ve never stopped looking deeper into myself, seeking opportunities for changing myself into the person I’ve been looking for.
My intuition was right.

Intuitive guidance about your life path:
I’ve been getting a lot of signs and synchronicity lately about what to do next with my business for the next 3 months while I’m visiting home. I’m not sure of the outcome yet because it’s still in the making, but I got invited to be a co-author in a book series about soulful relationships or conscious business. When I checked it out, the buy in price just didn’t seem worth it. I knew that I could invest in myself for cheaper and probably make more money. My intuition was telling me this is a gentle nudge to write my OWN book instead.
Then, I received a random email from someone who saw my website. Those emails are few and far between… It’s been months since I’ve received one. He mentioned how my involvement in past client work with Cheryl Strayed lead him to her book “Wild” and thanked me for the (indirect) connection. I took that as another synchronous sign that it’s time to write my own memoir about my walking journey, which is all about my soulful relationship. Tie that in to ‘conscious business’ and I’ve got an Eat, Pray, Love-ish memoir + biz guide! This feels like the energetically right next thing to do.
Intuitive guidance simplifies everyday life:
My niece is getting married in a few weeks and I’ve been putting off shopping for a dress.
I’m not one of those women who enjoys shopping or shops as a pass time. I usually spend time in a mall at a department store only when I absolutely must.
I told myself months ago not to panic and that when the time came to buy a dress I would feel the urge or get a sign
that it was time to go to the mall.
With only a few weeks to spare I was starting to get nervous. The “urge” to shop had not yet descended upon me!
Last weekend – it finally came. I had an urge to go to Macy’s Department store – which is funny as I had been thinking all along that I would go to Lord & Taylor’s to find my dress. But no – it was a very clear urge to go to Macy’s so I went.
On the way there I suddenly heard this very clear directive, “Go with the navy blue dress!”
Again this was funny as all along I had been picturing myself in a completely different color; a shimmery copper long dress.
Well, don’t you know that the first dress I saw when I reached the fancy dress department was a navy blue cocktail dress? I liked it right away and “knew” it was going to look well on me.
I also saw a beautiful long copper colored dress and took that one and an armful of other dresses into the dressing room with me. Although I tried them all on – nothing could beat that navy blue cocktail dress which had been the first one I tried on.
I was actually a bit disappointed as the copper dress was exactly the kind of dress I had been imagining all along but it didn’t flatter me at all – not like the blue dress anyway.
I ended up buying the short blue cocktail dress and a great pair of comfortable black patent leather heels and now I am all set for the wedding that is just six weeks away. What a relief.
While I did spend three hours at the mall had I listened to my intuition from the beginning and tried only the navy blue dress I would have been in and out of there in less than an hour.
