Why Intuition and Uncertainty Do Not Mix

Intuition and uncertainty are like oil and water.

You can shake them up and it would appear that they blend quite nicely. But, given a short amount of time the two will separate again. This is the process we undergo when we do not trust and follow our intuition.

Uncertainty is the biggest obstacle of all to developing our intuition. Read More

Why Your Body Is Intelligent & Doesn’t Need You!

I once heard a story about a guy who could get radio channels through his silver fillings.

I thought that this was the coolest thing ever. But, since my mother didn’t allow us to listen to that “devilish rock and roll” I desperately, desperately, wanted a silver filling. The trouble was I was cursed with super-human teeth that never got any cavities!

Fast forward to the present – I’m here to tell you that you don’t need corroded teeth to receive information from the air-waves. Your body is intelligent and has been designed to receive all sorts of non-verbal signals, with our without you being consciously aware of them.

Everyday we receive thousands of impressions, and feelings from our environment and the people around us most of which we aren’t even aware of that help us survive.

Think of our prehistoric ancestors – wouldn’t it have been vital to their safety to “know” if a tiger were stalking them, or feel in their gut if danger was present? It’s the same today – there are still “dangers” in our everyday lives that threaten our survival which is why our intuition communicates with us whether we’re aware of it, or not.

But, if we’re not aware of it because the information isn’t imparted to us verbally, or we aren’t reading it, or hearing it, or seeing it – how are we receiving these impressions and feelings?

News flash: There are numerous other “senses” beyond the 5 senses we’re aware of that impart information to us constantly through our bodies. You are a walking talking intuitive radio receiver, and transmitter whether you know it, and whether you believe it, or not. You are intuitive!

Did you know that in the last decade science discovered “calcite micro-crystals” in the human pineal gland?

And, apparently, calcite micro-crystals have similarities to quartz crystal – which have been used to create all sorts of information technology.

So, could it be that the pineal gland is our “silver filling” for receiving all sorts of information from the electromagnetic fields around us? This is not a proven theory, as yet, but it may well be in the near future.

  • The pineal gland has been called the “third eye” due to its location in the middle of the brain at the level of the mid forehead.
  • It’s also the gland associated with the sixth chakra – which has been associated with psychic activity.
  • Feelings of “directly knowing” something we have no explanation for are imparted to us by way of the sixth chakra.

Ever heard the term “gut feeling?” or “butterflies in the stomach?”

Another area of your body that acts as a receiver is your “gut.” Have you ever experienced the “fight or flight response” in a fearful situation? When your gut is activated you “feel” it.

The solar plexus, or gut where these physical sensations are found has been called, “the second brain.” It’s called the second brain due to the multitude of vital complex functions performed by our digestive system. When our digestive system is out of kilter our immunity suffers – which can leave us susceptible to illness and deadly diseases.

  • The solar plexus, which is in the area of the naval, is where the third chakra is located.
  • The third chakra is associated with wisdom, personal power and fulfillment.
  • “Gut feelings,” or “butterflies in the stomach” are the direct result of your body receiving information and trying to get your attention to analyze this data.

Think about it – when you last had a gut feeling wasn’t it either a warning, or a signal to go ahead with something in your life? Is this not “wisdom?” And, wisdom that directly affects your personal power and fulfillment?

You are intuitive and receiving intuitive impressions all the time, whether you choose to accept it or not.

Receiving information intuitively is necessary and vital to your safety and security.

Here’s a short list of some of the most common ways you receive information intuitively on a daily basis:

1. Have you ever been aware that someone was looking at you? When you turned around you made eye contact with the person who’d been staring, right? How did you know this?

2. Did you ever answer answer the phone “knowing” who was calling? How did you know?

3. Have you ever thought of someone you’ve not seen for a long time and then randomly run into them, or heard from them? Why did you think of them after all that time?

4. Has a thought ever suddenly “stood out” and gotten your attention? You heard something like an inner voice urgently saying: Call Mom! And, even if you ignored it and got involved in something else – it nagged at you until you listened and called mom? This is also a form of “direct knowing.”

5. Were you ever trying to solve a problem in your life when suddenly out of the blue, when you were no longer concentrating on it – the answer came to you and you “knew” it was right?

6. Have you ever sensed something was going to go wrong? Or, had gone wrong? Or something bad had happened? You weren’t sure what but you felt it in your gut?

7. Did you ever meet someone and take an instant like or dislike to them? You just “felt” that you shouldn’t, or should associate with this person?

8. Have you ever sensed you were in danger long before it became obviously apparent? Did that fight or flight response kick in, or its milder early warning system the butterflies in the stomach? If you so you were getting this information via the “second brain.”

9. Were you ever compelled to do something – even though all the so-called experts tried to dissuade you? You just “felt” in your gut that it was the right thing to do and couldn’t shake it until you did it? And, it turned out to be brilliant?

How many of these 9 intuitive responses have you experienced? Has it been valuable to receive information in ways beyond the 5 senses? Has it ever helped you make a decision?

Never Miss an Opportunity Again! Learn to Listen To Your Intuition

Serendipity

Some years back I read a book about a young woman who let her intuition lead her in every decision she made.

The book had a huge impression on me and changed my life. (Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of it or the author.)

This  young woman followed her inner promptings in every single decision she made. Listening to her intuition resulted in a series of serendipitous events; she went back to school, then moved out of state, met her perfect soul mate, and ended up working for the Edgar Cayce Foundation in Virginia Beach – in her dream job.

I remember thinking as I read, why doesn’t my life flow like that?

After I finished the book, I knew exactly why my life never flowed like hers. This young woman let her gut guide her – I never had. I was always too scared of making a mistake, instead I played it safe and dismissed the promptings of my intuition.

Physician heal thy self

After that I decided that I needed to start practicing what I preached.

Here I was an intuitive easily able to dispense advice for others, but when it came to myself not able to trust my own intuition. When I said enough already, and started basing my decisions on my gut and not my rational mind – my life started to improve immediately.

I was so miserable in my job at that time, and had contemplated quitting and going back to school just to escape, that I figured I might as well follow my gut. What’s the worse that could happen I thought? Soon after a miraculous “coincidence” occurred.

In a serendipitous fluke my father “accidentally” met the president of a huge multi-national bank. They got to chatting and he told him that his daughter was a private banker unhappy with her job – and guess what – his bank just happened to be looking for private bankers.  He sent the head of human resources to meet me – we had lunch and he hired me on the spot!

From then on my life and career just kept getting better as I listened to my intuition. And, all it took was giving that intuitive voice the respect it deserved.

Intuition is easy to overlook

Intuition is very subtle, which is exactly what makes it so easy to miss and overlook. It can come as a feeling in the gut – one that tells you that something is right or wrong, or it can come as a warning and a feeling of dread. Just as frequently, it’s quiet like a whisper, or the flitting of a butterfly that touches down ever so lightly in our consciousness before disappearing.

With intuition, until you start paying attention you may not be aware of these flashes.

Once you begin to notice them though it’s a bit like buying a new car you start seeing that model everywhere. When you put yourself on alert to be aware of these stirrings the same thing happens; the frequency of your intuitive insights increase. After that once you begin using your intuition to make decisions, it takes no time at all to see serendipitous events begin to appear in your life.

Serendipitous events are proof positive that you’re hearing and following your intuition.

When we receive this direct knowledge we’ve tapped into the source that keeps the planets in their orbit, and the earth spinning on its axis. This infinite intelligence doesn’t make mistakes. By plugging into it and using these intuitive insights our lives flow and all the details come together seamlessly.

Most people don’t recognize or trust their intuition

The three biggest hurdles most people face in putting intuition to use are in recognizing the voice of intuition, differentiating it from their own thoughts, and trusting what they get. Intuitive thoughts stream through the mind more rapidly than our own thoughts. Not only that, but when they do appear they’re usually complete ideas. In many case they feel as if they were downloaded whole into the brain. As far as trust goes, only jumping in with both feet and following hunches enough times to know that it’s real will build that trust.

Here are 5 easy tips to help you hone your intuition and put it to work for you:

1. Create the intention to begin noticing your intuition. Tell yourself that you wish to become aware of your intuitive insights and that you will become aware of them.

2. Keep a small notebook with you at all times where you can jot down any thoughts that appear to have been downloaded whole into your mind without you generating them.

3. Give yourself many opportunities to practice. Before answering the phone ask yourself who it might be. When meeting with friends see if you get any impressions about what they will be wearing. Or what they’ll order for dinner, etc. You can come up with dozens of little tests like this.

4. Make it a habit to meditate every day. Meditation is the most powerful way to boost your intuition. If you don’t know how to meditate read my post.

5. When you’re faced with a decision close your eyes and clear your mind. Ask yourself what next step to take – then stop thinking. See what comes to mind no matter how silly it might be. It could be an image, a word, or a thought. Examine this closely. It’s usually your answer.

The point the author illustrated in her book was that letting intuition guide us allows us to go with the flow of our good in our lives. When we struggle to do the things our rational mind/ego tells us we “should” do we are swimming against this current.

Work on incorporating these tips into your life and I guarantee you’ll see a huge rise in your intuitive insights and the number of seemingly miraculous coincidences that occur in you life and soon you’ll be living your dream life too!

Have you ever let intuition guide you? What happened? Did you end up in an even better situation than the one you were striving toward?
