Intuition. Chakras, Crystals & Vivid Dreams, Oh My!
It’s time to open up the Powered by Intuition Mailbag again!
I love getting your questions although I’m sometimes deluged with so much reader email and such lengthy questions that I cannot keep up. I try my best though so be patient! 🙂
If you haven’t heard back from me and you sent a loong question please be patient. If I think it’s a topic with an answer that many readers will be interested in I will answer it in an article such as this one.****
I received several wonderful questions from a reader about her dreams, crystals, Chakras, connecting with her future self and her spiritual growth. I have a hunch many PbI readers are going to relate to this question because you’re such an spiritual bunch!
I had a lucid dream and has changed a lot of things for me! I have always felt that there is more to this life that just existing! That we are so much more capable of things beyond day to day thoughts. I have much to learn about meditation, Chakras as well as crystals. But, I do know there is more to life! I am a sheltered unit….some or most of on my own accord. I am an artist and choose to speak my soul through art, rather than words.
I dream in color! Which surprises me too! I have very vivid dreams that take me to places that seem to be as somewhere I have been in a preceding life. Or possibly future?! I dream of places and people who I ‘should know’. Mostly houses that are of odd accord. The unusual layout, but plenty of space.
Okay, I do have a question. Since I have started meditation, I am wanting to learn more about the Chakras and crystals. Crystals in particular and which ones and how they will benefit me.
I am doing my best to connect with my future self. For advice or to shed light on my path. At times, I feel everywhere but no where in particular. Do you know what I mean? I suppose I need more focus here.
Can you shed some light and guidance my way. Your teachings so far, has helped me! You have shown light in darker spots I could not pinpoint.
Any thoughts, opinions would be appreciated. I so want to grow spiritually beyond what I already have.
Since this is such a lengthy question I’m going to break it down.
1. RE: Vivid Dreaming in color/Lucid Dreams.
One of the surest earliest signs that you are quite psychic is frequent vivid dreaming in color that you remember. I can’t tell you how many people say tell me they never recall their dreams. When you have dreams like this without “trying” consider yourself very lucky!
Vivid colorful dreams such as this where you “know” you are dreaming (Lucid dreams) indicate that you have clairvoyant ability. It’s the first sign that your Third Eye is a very active center in your Chakra system. You are traveling astrally in your dreams, meaning you’re having out of body experiences. You also have what is called “traveling” clairvoyance, that is you can see things at a distance.
Since you are an artist and very attuned to “seeing” this is your gift; you have “second sight,” AKA you’re a “seer.”
I had dreams like this from early childhood. I would astral travel, see people I didn’t know and “fly” over the roofs of houses in my neighborhood in my dreams. As I got older and learned about out of body experiences I understood what had been happening which was that I was “seeing” and traveling to places far beyond what the physical eye could observe.
A game I used to play was to “see” people’s houses and describe the exterior and interior as I “walked” through the rooms. It was great practice. I recall I once saw inside of a very untidy house. The woman was embarrassed (of course I didn’t describe just how messy it really was so that she wouldn’t feel too bad.
2. Chakras and crystals.

Here’s a link to a Chakra Balancing Meditation I use. I suggest you incorporate this into your daily meditation. It will help open and balance the Chakras. As a clairvoyant you need to focus on balance of the Chakras as it’s a natural tendency for you to tap into your 6th Chakra more (the Third Eye) than any other.
Crystals are fascinating.
One of the best crystals to use for opening the Third Eye is Amethyst Crystal. I have two large ones that I keep on my desk and a small one that I can hold up to my 6th Chakra when needed. You can meditate while holding it up to your 6th Chakra and it will help you open that center but don’t forget to balance and open all your Chakras! Balance is key.
I was never into crystals until 15 years ago. I was at a metaphysical workshop at someone’s home and she had these huge halves of cracked open crystals she had dug up in Arizona and brought back to her home in New York. During a break in our training I asked her about them and she told me to put my hand over them to see if I could feel the vibrations coming out of them. Well, to my surprise I could! It was amazing. Before that I had no idea that crystals emit such powerful vibrations. The vibration in the crystals entrain the brain waves and aid in healing or opening certain Chakras, etc.
3. Connecting to Your Future Self
To connect to your future self go into a state of deep meditation. When you are there see yourself in front of three doors:
One says Five Years from Now; the other Ten years from now; and the last one Twenty years from now.
Knock on the door which is far enough out into the future to answer the questions you have in mind.
When the door swings open you will see your future self. Your future self will invite you in for a chat.
Notice what you are wearing. How do you look?
Make note of the room you’re in. Is it a different place than where you live now? Does your future self give you a tour?
Ask your future self what you wish to know. Wait and listen to their answer.
I hope this helps you connect with your future self.
More help is available here.
4. The way to spiritual growth
Here’s a link to an article I wrote about the topic.
The best way to grow spiritually is to develop a spiritual practice such as meditation. When in meditation do the Chakra Opening meditation I suggested earlier. When you get to the Heart Chakra focus on feeling love – pure unconditional love for all life. See yourself as a little generator emitting powerful waves of love out into the world. When you see it and feel it – it is so.
One of the things I learned from my spiritual mentor was that we grow spiritually when we have a desire to be a beacon of goodness in the world. It may sound simplistic but I have found it has helped me tremendously. Just ask to be the “pure goodness” of Spirit. Spirit or the “life force” in all things is pure goodness, right? Be this pure goodness and do good for yourself and others. Some position this as constantly asking in every situation, “What would love do?”
I hope this helps you.
All my best,

Using your Intuition to get intuitive guidance for your life
For the last 6 months I have been going through a severe spiritual crisis of the soul-
It culminated by my almost taking a job I didn’t want but, thanks to my intuition – my inner guidance system – I stopped the madness.
Here’s what happened.
After working from home steadily for months to write and publish “The Intuition Principle” I showed up in the office in August. I have a financial sales position where I can work from home. In my heart, I no longer want to be a 100 percent commissioned salesperson but, this job gives me a lot of flexibility and freedom along with health benefits.
As much as I’ve racked my brain looking for other alternatives and sent out mountains of resumes – nothing has come up that gives me this much freedom so I’ve stayed there. The trouble is that after 30 years I’m tired of “selling.” I just don’t have it in me anymore. I cannot live my life to meet sales goals anymore.
A month ago I was offered a new sales job via a group of former colleagues I re-connected with at a Christmas party.
To make a long story short – they all remembered me as the “eager-beaver” who swiftly climbed the corporate ladder and had been a serious work-a-holic. Back then I was a regional sales manager with dreams of being a big time corporate executive but, I’m not that person anymore.
I interviewed with a bunch of group executives from this company and a few days later they offered me a great job.
The problem was and is that I don’t want to do that job! I was seduced by the flattery of being pursued so aggressively!
I was down with the flu and a fever when my cell phone rang. I picked it up and the HR person made me a formal offer which I accepted in a hoarse whisper and then, he began rattling off the hefty salary, signing bonus and benefits.
Honestly, all I was thinking while he spoke was how the money from the signing bonus could quickly replace some of the money I’d pulled out to live on over the last two years since I hadn’t been working – and nothing else.
He gave me a start date of three weeks and told me I’d have to be fingerprinted and drug-tested within 48 hours.
After the initial phone call everything else was a blur. I forced myself out of bed in the following days to get drug-tested and finger-printed even though I was really sick.
I felt like a zombie – just going through the motions. I was not at all excited about the job instead, I had a feeling of dread. I couldn’t sleep through the night either. Although I kept waking up with that horrible panicky “punched in the gut” feeling I kept telling myself that taking this job was the “sensible” thing to do. How was I going to make up for my lost income or prepare for retirement if I didn’t take it?
I kept asking my spirit guides and higher self for guidance but, nothing was coming to me. I was so frustrated. As the days went by and my start date loomed nearer and nearer, my panic level increased exponentially.
How I got in touch with my intuition and restored my soul and sanity:
1. Stop panicking and surrender to what is
After the fourth day of asking for guidance and getting nothing – I gave up. I was slightly delirious from the fever I had but, I heard myself saying, “I don’t care if I don’t wake up tomorrow,” and this startled me. At that moment I said to myself, “This is crazy! I give up – whatever will be will be. God I’m handing over the reigns to you. I can’t do this anymore. Please help me.” And that’s when I received the information clairvoyantly from my spirit guides.
Panicking shuts down your intuition. When you are panicked you are so caught up in emotional turmoil that your intuition cannot get through all that noise. If you read “The Intuition Principle” you will recall I go into great detail on all the ways you block your intuition. I was so panicked I forgot my own advice!
When I “gave up” I stopped thinking, “Oh no! What should I do? Am I turning down a great opportunity that I am supposed to take?,” over and over and my mind became still. When I surrendered and let go my mind became still my intuition presented me with the following scene:
A cute little girl of around 8 years old was walking backwards waving at me to follow her. She was at a country fair and there were throngs of people all around her. She turned around and then began darting through the crowds while I followed behind her.
She laughed and turned back to look at me a few times. Each time she did she morphed into a different little girl who at times was eating cotton candy or popped corn. She skipped with abandon through the crowds – nimbly weaving in between the adults’ legs. I remember thinking how confident, joyful and happy she appeared. I was surprised that she showed no fear of getting lost in the crowd or being separated from her family.
She was just having fun and not at all worried about being lost.
What my spirit guides or higher self presented to me was that I was taking my life too seriously. I was being advised to play more and to do what makes me happy in life. I should skip through life with abandon and not be afraid to change my mind. Don’t worry about getting lost and not taking this opportunity – or being separated from this group of former colleagues which, years ago had been like family.
2. Remember there are no wrong decisions – there are only choices in life
The other point my spirit guides or higher self was trying to make was that there is no actual path each of us must follow. You are not “supposed” to do anything.
I wrote extensively about this in “The Intuition Principle” – which again, I’d forgotten until I stopped worrying so much about whether I was making the right decision or not. My fears about missing “a great opportunity” kept me locked in panic mode where the “voice” of intuition could not get through.
We have free will. The path appears before each us as we make our choices and take a step forward in the direction of our dreams.
Before that choice, or next step there is nothing only a multitude of potential futures – that become forks in the road if we choose to take one of them. If you make one choice your life will go in this direction and if you make another your life will take that direction. But remember, there is no “right or wrong choice.” It’s all just potentiality – so there is nothing to be afraid of!
3. Contact a trusted adviser and have them “talk you down”
When I need advice I turn to my intuitive adviser colleagues just like you might reach out to me for my intuitive advice. The morning after I received the clairvoyant vision from my guides I connected with Lisa Claudia Briggs of Intuitive Body, and she talked me down from the ledge I was ready to jump off of. I recall my first words to her were:
“I woke up today feeling like I’m facing a death sentence.”
Intuitively, Lisa knew and was able to make me see that it was not “knowing that I didn’t want the job” that was tying me up in knots but, the fear that I might be turning away a great opportunity – that was “meant to be.” I realized I was reliving a vicious cycle that had drawn me back into financial sales over and over each time I’d gone to great lengths to get out in the last three decades.
I was afraid I wouldn’t be taken “seriously” if I came out of the closet and fully embraced my abilities as a clairvoyant and medium. I was plagued by the constant fear that the companies I worked for would find out about who I really was and fire me so, I never really put myself “out there” 100 percent. Consequently, I always felt that I had no choice but to return to the security of working in finance in order to support myself in an abundant lifestyle.
Lisa made me see I had been pushing away my own good all these years. By clinging to the security of this career and having to “hide” who I was I was creating the very thing I didn’t want!
4. Never make a decision based solely on money
Money can hypnotize and seduce you. It can distract you from exploring the underlying issues around a decision. Don’t let that happen.
Speaking to Lisa helped me to “snap out of it!”
The money was only a quick fix and would become my “golden handcuffs.” And, the money would not be handed to me for nothing. I’d have to actually show up and do this job to get it – and I didn’t want to. Taking it would lock me into forcing myself to do something I dreaded each day. Once I was there it would be hard to “get out.” I’d feel obligated to all those people who spoke so highly of me and recommended me for the position.
Never go for the “quick fix.” It will only create more problems down the road.
5. Trust your gut
If it doesn’t feel right – it’s not for you
Always always go by your feelings. This is what it means to “trust your gut.”
The moment I said to Lisa, “I’m going to call up and tell them I cannot take the job,” I felt incredible relief.
The relief was immediate and complete. I felt as if a ton of bricks had been lifted from my shoulders. I felt crazy happy and as if I could walk on air.
To check on your feelings and get clear on what the right decision is try this:
Imagine you have made the choice to do this thing (whatever it is) and create a scene in your mind as to how your life would be and feel if you had done it. Now, take the opposite decision and imagine how you would feel in this scenario.
Which scenario “feels” better; feels right; feels good or gives you relief? Trust your gut. That is the right decision for you.
6. Love yourself enough to give yourself what you want
In the next few days I mustered my courage to call the hiring manager and tell him I couldn’t take the job.
While meditating I heard this:
“Love yourself enough to give yourself what you want.”
I understood how unkind I had been to myself for the last thirty years. I had “forced” myself to take jobs that I didn’t really want and accept promotions I didn’t want when all I ever wanted to do was be a writer. I felt as if “I had no choice” but to take them because I was good at what I did and I made an really good living at it.
I also realized that I had been discounting my feelings my entire life. I felt like a round peg in a square hole at these jobs. I was constantly telling myself to, “Buck up and get over it. Don’t be a big baby everybody has to do things they don’t like.” That’s not very loving, is it?
My dear friend Daylle Deann Schwartz from How Do I Love Me has a fantastic self-love campaign going on this month. She has a free book offer, “How Do I Love Me? Let Me Count the Ways,” that you can download too. While I was perusing her Facebook fan page I came across this great banner:
Seeing this banner was just what I needed to help me gather the courage to make the phone call I had been putting off. You see how the Universe supports you? The “signs” are always there you just need to be open and ready to receive them.
It was time love myself enough to give myself what I wanted in life – finally.
7. Choose Happiness
After I made the phone call I felt as if I could fly! It was the same feeling of elation I’d felt when I quit my job 18 years ago to go back to school. I’d taken control of my life and it felt great!
I no longer had any fears about “making a mistake.” I knew the happiness I was feeling was the “sign” that I had made the right decision.
And you know, the hiring manager couldn’t have been nicer. He said I would always have a place there if I changed my mind. Wow!
As I hung up the phone I heard myself saying over and over,
“I choose happiness! I choose happiness!”
It was in that moment I felt the “shift.” I knew my life would never be the same again. I had a major breakthrough in my thinking and I could feel that I was now transmitting different vibes to the Universe.
What makes you feel like jumping for joy or, high fiving all your friends? That’s what you should do.
When you feel down-trodden, burdened and obligated that is a huge sign that you must review your decision. In my case, I felt as if I had been handed a “death sentence.” That can’t be good, right?
When you are happy you send out “happy vibes” to the Universe saying “I feel good. Send more of this!” When you are trembling with fear and paralyzed by panic your vibes pull in more situations that resonate with fear and panic.
Always, always opt for what makes you happy. The Universe is impartial. It will give you whatever you want based on the signals it receives from you.
8. Be grateful for everything
After hearing that “click in my head” and becoming aware that my thinking had shifted I found myself so grateful for my life – just the way it is now. I felt like George Bailey felt in the film, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” after he said, “I want live again!”
I was grateful for every challenge I’d ever encountered, for my ten year old car and grateful to have a roof over my head and the flexible job I have now and health insurance and on and on and on…..
I realized that everything is perfect just as it is. This is my life and love it and I wouldn’t trade it in for another for all the money in the world.
I was jumping for joy and couldn’t sit still. I was doing a happy dance of gratitude and it felt great!
And, I couldn’t wait to write this post and share with you how wonderful life can be when we accept who we are and embrace our lives bumps and all just like George Bailey did in “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
“I love you drafty old house!” says George.
“I love you perfectly imperfect life,” says me.”
It’s going to be a wonderful life. I can feel it in my intuitive bones. 🙂
Are you in the midst of a crisis of the soul? Are you ready to surrender to what is and then listen to your inner guidance? Are you ready to love yourself enough to make the rest of your life the best it can be?

“Chakras are energy-awareness centers. They are the revolving doors of creativity and communication between spirit and the world.” –Michael J. Tamura
I’ve always been interested in the human energy field. Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to Jennifer Flint, The Aura Reader, to give us an in depth look at how to read auras – the human energy field.
How did you start reading auras?
I happened to be attending a psychic fair at a local metaphysical shop a while back, and had actually had my own aura photographed that day, so the subject was on my mind.
Just before I left, I was chatting with the owner of the shop and one of the employees. I laughingly joked that I could probably read their auras, and threw out what I thought were a couple of totally random colors for each of them.
To my surprise, they both looked at me strangely, and told me that I was correct. Later, one of them showed me her own aura photograph, and it was exactly as I had described it.
This got me thinking about the subject, and I began doing brief little readings for friends and family, which also seemed quite accurate. At this point I often didn’t even know what the colors I was seeing meant, and sometimes had to look them up in order to interpret them!
Later I made a new friend through her spiritual blog, and mentioned to her in passing that I seemed to have this odd little ability to read auras. She immediately asked me to read her, of course, which I did without even seeing her photograph.
When my assessment turned out to be correct, she asked me to read her husband and daughter as well, and then a couple of her friends, who came through with some rather startling and specific information.
At that point she suggested that I start offering aura readings through my blog, and that’s just what I did. The rest is history!
What is an aura?
Well, personally I would describe it as the energetic emanation of the body and soul, and more specifically the chakras, which are the energy centers of the various parts of the body.
The vibrations of the soul extend beyond the physical form in the same way that electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) can be measured outside an electrical wire, and for some reason I am able to perceive this output in terms of specific colors.
What does an aura look like?
This varies greatly from person to person, and probably from one aura reader to the next. I do find that most of the colors I see tend to correspond to the traditional colors and meanings of the seven major chakras, although there are some exceptions.
I know it’s common to think of the aura as an egg-shaped projection surrounding the body, but I don’t always view it that way. It’s more typical for me to see the chakras as separate “pieces” of the aura, in different shapes and sizes, and these symbols can often tell me something about what’s going on with each person, and what energetic blockages might need to be resolved.
How do you “see” an aura?
I mainly read using photographs, and primarily by email, although I can do it in person as well. My aura readings are almost entirely intuitive, and most of it happens inside my head. In fact, my mother finds it amusing that I tend to look away from people when I’m reading them in person, in order to avoid being distracted by them visually.
I can sometimes “project” a person’s aura colors around them and view them that way, but the information is most likely still intuitive rather than truly visual. And it’s something I have to do deliberately, which is actually a benefit since I can also turn it off when I’m not working.
There are also some very subtle things I’ve taught myself to do with the muscles of my eyes in order to activate my intuitive abilities and enter alpha state, which is the brainwave pattern most conducive to psychic activity. These methods are a bit difficult to describe, but they seem quite effective.
Can anyone see an aura?
I will admit that I don’t really know, since until fairly recently I didn’t even realize that I could do it! So it may be a hidden ability that other people have as well.
It does seem to be a clairvoyant skill, so people with natural clairvoyant tendencies might have an easier time of it. My assumption is that anything is possible, though, if a person has a strong enough desire to learn the ability. I have definitely developed my own clairvoyant skills over the years, simply by practicing them in various ways.
Meditation is a hugely helpful tool in this regard, and it’s the first thing I always recommend to people who want to advance their intuitive abilities.
How does your synesthesia play into your seeing auras?
An example how a synesthetic person might associate a color to letters and numbers. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Synesthesia is a rare but harmless cross-wiring of the brain that causes more than one sense to be combined. In my case, for example, I see all letters and numbers in very specific colors, and they often have genders and “personalities” too.
As a result, I’m very accustomed to perceiving people and objects in color where others might not, and assigning meanings to them as well. My guess is that this probably makes it easier for me to see the colors of the aura, and to interpret them too.
It’s hard to overemphasize how much having synesthesia “colors” my life, literally as well as figuratively. So it’s no surprise that the various hues of the aura would be an effective gateway for me to use in terms of applying my intuitive abilities.
Do you have any unusual/entertaining stories about reading auras you can share with us?
All sorts of intuitive information can show up during a reading, from health and emotional issues to mediumship. I am often amused by some of the odd bits of data that Source chooses to show me, and I am quickly learning that the stranger a piece of information seems to be, the more likely it is to be relevant.
For example, one repeat client contacted me recently because she was having a specific problem that she needed assistance with. So I headed for my studio and began to pull cards for her.
Now, in a previous reading, I had made contact with a deceased friend of hers from high school. I was able to identify him by name (Lenny), and gave many details about what he looked like, their relationship, symbols they used between them, and the way he had lived and died.
I haven’t given much thought to this person since then, so when I entered the studio to begin reading, I was surprised to have the feeling that Lenny was in there with me. When I had contacted him earlier, I had not had the sense that he was directly in my presence, but this time I did – I even got physical chills, which faded when I left the room, and resumed when I reentered it, as though he was waiting politely.
Mind you, I have had deceased loved ones show up many times in my readings, by name and specific appearance, but this was the first time the presence felt quite so – uh – present, as it were.
Since I was already aware of Lenny, I informed him mentally that if he wanted to impress his friend that he was really here, he would need to tell me something that I couldn’t possibly have known about him.
Immediately, I received the distinct impression of some sort of practical joke involving a bug. Not being sure quite what to make of this, I reported it to my client, who laughingly responded that at some point during their friendship she had had a fight with Lenny, and had placed a small insect into his mouth while he was sleeping.
I was able to describe the bug precisely, and even sent her a photo of a beetle very much like the one I saw. She confirmed that it was extremely similar, except that the actual insect was much smaller. But you can hardly blame Lenny for inflating its size, since it was his mouth it had been in!
As peculiar as this little reference was, it was something unique that they both clearly remembered (for obvious reasons). So it was an excellent way for Lenny to identify himself to my client, since this is probably not something that happens to the average person very often.
At the same time, he also mentioned ice cubes to me, which turned out to be very relevant to my client as well. Her two-year old daughter absolutely adores ice cubes, and they routinely bribe her with them when they want her to behave.
Furthermore, ice cubes had recently been shooting from their icemaker in an unexplainable fashion, and it may be that Lenny was trying to take credit for this activity too. They both seem to have quite the unique sense of humor!
Can you teach someone to see an aura? Yes~!
An exercise with a tips on how to see the aura:
1. Try and visualize the aura. lose your eyes in a quiet location, focus on your breathing, and call to mind an image of someone that you would like to try to read. Please make sure that you have that person’s permission, since to do otherwise would be an invasion of their privacy. You can even practice on your own aura, if you don’t have a willing participant!
2. Relax. In this relaxed state, try and project the image of the person in question onto an imaginary movie screen in your mind, and simply observe any colors that appear around them.
3. Pay attention. Notice also the strength, size, and shape of these colors, and any other impressions you may receive. If you are familiar with the chakras, you can scan them one by one to see how well they’re operating.
4. Review what you are seeing. Do they look bright, clear, and strong, or are there tinges of darkness or muddying in a particular area? This can indicate blockages in the energy flow that may need to be resolved.
Now, remember, this is an intuitive activity, so don’t be afraid to use your own intuition to interpret what you see. Your “color vocabulary” might be different from another aura reader’s, in the same way that no two people with synesthesia will ever see things in quite the same way.
Have you ever seen an aura? Describe what you saw and the circumstances under which you saw it. Share any tips you might have for seeing auras with us here.

Today I am sharing a few of the many interesting questions I get from readers.
Question 1: One reader asks, “What is the difference between clairvoyance and intuition?”
Clairvoyance is the ability to receive information about people, places and things via “seeing pictures in the mind’s eye,” which cannot be seen with the physical eyes. Clairvoyance is a way of receiving information from outside of yourself. It is information that you do not currently have stored in the many files of your physical brain.
Intuition is your own inner wisdom. It is a function of instinct and it is communicated to you via a reaction in the body – a feeling you get.
Clairvoyance is a psychic ability. Information obtained psychically is obtained from outside of yourself.
Your intuition will inform you of information vital to your own well being, success, happiness and survival. Intuitive information comes to you in the form of “gut feelings” in the body. When you “feel” something isn’t right or if you have a sinking feeling in your stomach over something you might be contemplating doing this is an intuitive reaction. The information is “encoded” within your body’s reaction.
Everyone is psychic to an extent. Numerous studies replicated by various scientists show that we are capable of having an emotional reaction to situations before they have occurred. Study participants were shown random photos of either tranquil scenes or disturbing ones designed to evoke an emotional reaction. The participants were hooked up to monitors that measured changes in “skin conductance, heart rate and blood pressure.”*
What the studies showed was that prior to seeing these randomly selected photos the participants body reacted in anticipation of seeing the agitating photos according to the changes measured in their skin, heart rate and blood pressure. So, at some level the participants “knew” which photo they were going to be shown before it was flashed up on the screen.
Question 2: Another reader asks, “A friend of mine decided against going to church with me and within days suffered a horrific accident that left him disabled. He was sorry afterward but, it was too late. Is this intuition or “word of knowledge,” as in Christian circles?”
I had to look up what “word of knowledge was.” Here’s the definition from Wikipedia:
Among Pentecostal and charismatic Christians, the word of knowledge is often defined as the ability of one person to know what God is currently doing or intends to do in the life of another person.
“Word of knowledge” sounds similar to psychic ability according to this definition but, I’m not an expert in biblical or christian teachings.
Here is my opinion this though. I don’t believe this was an incident related to intuition. It sounds more like “synchronicity.”
Synchronicity occurs when what is going on within our consciousness is mirrored back to us by our environment. The stronger our belief or thought patterns are about something the more likely it is that we will come across it in our reality.
I don’t believe in a “punishing God.” I believe that we create our reality through our belief systems. Our beliefs define how we “label” the events of our lives. When we “look” for something – we find it only because everything, both good and bad, already exists in our reality. We only need to focus upon it for it to “appear.”
Your friend might have been distracted at work that day. He also might have harbored an unconscious fear that God was angry and might punish him for not going to church.
The accident and not going to church are not related but, we can choose to tie the two together based our our own belief system.
I hope you enjoyed reading these questions.
