The new year has arrived with all the promise of a new day. This is your chance to start over and avoid the pitfalls that thwarted you last year because now you’ve learned from your mistakes. Congratulations.
Greater success with greater ease is what you want, right? When you set goals, especially in the beginning of the new year you want feel confident that you’ll achieve them. And, you want to arrive at your goal without hitting a lot of roadblocks that might cause you to have to undo or redo much of the work you’ve put in as well.
Imagine how much easier the previous year would have been if you could have avoided those costly mistakes that set you back in the first place. That’s even better. And imagine that there is a way to do this and it is something right at your fingertips that can learn to do.
How to avoid costly mistakes in the first place
Avoiding costly mistakes is achievable. And it’s something that some of the most successful people of our time, such as Albert Einstein and Bill Gates have been able to do naturally. It involves applying your intuition to finding the right solutions and making the correct choices in the first place, and course correcting as you go to be sure you stay on the right track.
Intuition is knowledge that comes to you all at once, is complete and doesn’t require ‘reasoning’ to arrive at. Reasoning is where you have a sequence of linear thoughts (one thought leads to the next and then the next) about a problem in order to arrive at a conclusive solution. Intuitive knowledge is receiving the “solution” all at once, minus the process of reasoning to get there.
Intuition is the Elegant Solution
Intuition is a shortcut that accelerates your success and helps you avoid costly mistakes. It’s the elegant way of gaining an “unfair advantage” to achieving your goals with more joy and less struggle. Although, there’s really nothing unfair about it since intuition is accessible to everyone. It’s just that many people distrust their intuition and talk themselves out of their “hunches” before giving them a chance.
Pledge to start relying on your intuition in the new year
Decide today that you will consult your intuition before making a decision instead of ignoring it and then possibly regretting your decision later. This is what the most successful people do. They check in with their gut before making a move and if something feels out of sorts they don’t move forward with that choice. I’m sure you can recall an instance where you disregarded that “little voice” and then later when things didn’t turn out well you said, “I knew I should have listened to my intuition!”
Now that you know better vow to do better and listen to your intuition in the new year. Use these three simple steps to accelerate your success with ease!
3 Steps to Accelerate Your Success With Intuition:
- Set your intention. Decide that you will check in with your intuition before making any big decisions regarding achieving your goals.
- Journal. Use a journal to document the decisions you’re grappling with and the answers that come to you intuitively. Leave some space to come back and add additional information.
- Record the outcome. As each of your decisions unfolds be sure to go back and write down exactly how things turned out.
When you do this you will be creating a powerful new habit of using your intuition and enhancing your intuition so that you become even more accurate with it. Best wishes for your continued success in the new year!

Power vs. Force
The easiest way to know the difference between real power and force is to look at your life and notice where you’re frustrated. Wherever you experience frustration is where you’re likely to try to “force things.”
When we’re frustrated it’s normally due to our expectations not being met. We expect something to take place in the way we’ve imagined it would and when it doesn’t we feel frustrated. Frustration usually results in us trying to “make it happen” anyway. In some cases frustration results in violence. That’s a very obvious sign of using force.
If the frustration is due to something within your control then by all means try to correct the situation; that’s not “pushing” its persevering. If it’s out of your control you need to “let go” and let things work themselves out. If you keep trying to “push” and make it happen despite it being out of your control then you’re using “force.”
Real or “true” power never stems from forcing others to do things. Actually, its quite the opposite. When you’re using true power you are empowered with a magnetic presence that pulls people toward you because you’re aligned with the highest good of all concerned. “True power” is an innate quality to the most charismatic and successful people. Just think of how we gravitate toward babies, puppies and kittens. In their innocence they exude the power of pure goodness and we are irresistibly drawn toward them because of it.
When we use force things don’t flow and have a way of backfiring on us later. When we are using “true power” we will attract people, situations, solutions and support as needed to accomplish our goals. Using true power puts us in the “flow” of life rather than in opposition to it.
Any time we are in opposition to something we create a “see-saw” effect because it pits us against something. For example, for one person to be “right” another person has to be “wrong.” So we are always on the see-saw, either up or down but in any case, going nowhere and stuck in this counterproductive repetitious pattern.
Deal with Challenges
This is not say that you will never have challenges when you are using true power. Nor does it mean you sit back and do nothing. You must still take action even when you face challenges but make sure it’s the right kind of action.
You will know what the right action is when you’re using true power because you won’t be stuck on only one solution. You will be able to disengage from the narrow viewpoint of what is frustrating you and let go. This stepping back and releasing the fixation on what’s not working allows for other solutions to come to you via your intuition. And, when you allow this to happen you are using “true power” and the solution is “intuitively inspired.”
This happens because true power comes from higher intelligence, or what some people call “Source,” life energy or God. When we insist on using sheer force we are relying on our “small selves” and the limited information stored in the brain. Force cuts us off from the elegant solutions that Source can provide us.
Listen to Your Intuition
We are always connected to this source of higher intelligence but in our frustration we feel cut off and separate. When we allow ourselves to step back from the problem and open up to this source of higher intelligence we will receive answers via our intuition that are far better than anything we were stubbornly fixated on before. This is because we are receiving answers from the intelligence that created us and everything in the universe.
Our limited brain is no match for higher intelligence. We are using true power when we are in alignment with higher intelligence and do what is good for all concerned. To do this we need to step back from insisting that things be one way, or our way and reset our attitude in the situation to “neutral.” When we are neutral the answers will come to us via our intuition. To know if you are using true power check if you feel calm, secure in the belief that the right answers will appear and that everything is working out for your highest good.
Get in The Flow
When we are aligned with true power we don’t feel compelled to force people to do things or to make things happen. We take action and move toward our goal and receive answers and intuitive guidance along the way so that we can make course corrections if necessary. Then we are in flow and using true power.

“Raising your vibration” and keeping it high is important. The more aware you become of your thoughts and feelings the more rapidly you will be able to move out negative reaction patterns into the calm center of the higher states of being.
Everyone gets upset over things but the secret to maintaining a high vibration is to manage our reactions to the things that happen to us. It’s not the things that happen that cause our turbulent emotions it’s the meaning we assign to the events.
When we stop blaming things outside of ourselves, accept things as they are and decide to be happy anyway, things begin to get better in our lives.
Emitting a vibration that sits squarely in the positive range of higher emotions such as love, acceptance, inclusiveness, forgiveness, joy and willingness reduces struggle and strife and fosters happiness, fulfillment and harmony. It’s easy to tell when someone is living in the lower emotions because they resonate to fear, scarcity and negativity. They exhibit anger, resentment and judgement toward others while people who are predominantly in the higher emotions have an uplifting unifying effect on the people around them.
We need people to be clear channels for higher energies now more than ever. And each of us can help elevate the the collective vibration of mankind if we raise our individual vibration.

The Luck Frequency and Why Giving Always Comes Back
I won something! If you read my article “Prosperity and The Luck Frequency” I wrote that I never win anything of great value…..well, I’m here to say that’s no longer true. I won a free marketing course from Market Like a Nerd founder, Amanda Goldman-Petrie. It made my day and so I’m grateful.
Feeling into the Frequency of Luck
After being prompted to write the article by a PBI reader’s question, I decided to see what would happen if I focused intently on “feeling like a winner.” I felt into the vibe of being a winner and let it sink in. I visualized myself celebrating something and being very excited about it. I added this step to my daily meditation with no expectation in mind, which means I was not attached to any particular outcome (hint – non-attachment is very important). Each and every day I allowed myself to really feel the frequency of luck and I was pleasantly surprised to win this wonderful and useful prize.
Giving is a major part of the equation
You must feel into the luck frequency with complete non-attachment and you must also give to others with no expectations or attachment to “receiving” in return as well. Everything we perceive from physical objects to thoughts and emotions is pure energy at its core and has its own unique vibrational frequency. When you give you’re circulating energy that vibrates high on the scale of human consciousness. The more you emit this frequency and are of service to others the more enriched your life will become. When I say “enriched” I don’t mean to limit it to money, although it can be. To live a rich life is to have an abundance of love, happiness, joy, good relationships and good health – not just money.
Raise your vibration by giving without expecting anything in return
When you give unconditionally you feel good. When you feel good because you’ve helped someone that automatically brings your emotions up on the scale of consciousness. Dr. David Hawkins, creator of the scale of consciousness demarcates the vibration 200 which corresponds to Courage, as the level we must rise to in order to cross the line from the negative emotions to the positive ones. Giving falls in the vibratory rate of 350. The more predominantly your emotions stay in the positive state above 200, the more your life changes for the better because remember, like always attracts like. This is the reason why “giving” always comes back in some form when you remain predominantly in the higher emotions.
Gratitude is another important component of the Luck Frequency. During my meditation I not only visualized myself being excited and celebrating something I also felt grateful and “blessed” to have received so I visualized myself sharing the blessing by giving to others. I visualized someone being happy and surprised by something I’d given them. When we receive we must share the blessing by feeling grateful and then doing something good for others. You must allow the blessing to move and circulate from you to someone else.
Dissecting the Frequency of Luck
Luck appears to have three very distinct components.
1. Feeling like a winner. Feel the joy of winning and believe and expect that good will come to you.
2. Giving to others with no expectation of getting anything in return. Give for the joy of giving. Give because you love to.
3. Being grateful for all you have and experience in your life. Feel the joy of being blessed and be grateful. Be thankful and celebrate.
It doesn’t matter what order you feel these emotional components. All that matters is that you feel them together in the present. Did you notice that Joy is the common element that ties the Luck Frequency together? According to Dr. Hawkins Joy has a vibration of 540. If you can tap into feeling joyous frequently you will automatically be in the frequency of luck and love where you can share your blessings with others.

3 Ways Fear Keeps You From Succeeding in Life, Career & Sales
Have you ever been frozen in your tracks by fear? Or woken up in the middle of the night because of fear?
Fear keeps you from succeeding in whatever goals you have in life, business, career and in selling your products and services especially if you’re a heart-centered. It stops you cold from living up to your potential and keeps you playing small. And guess what happens next? You’re stuck spinning in the fear not moving toward your goal and losing valuable time in your life.
3 Ways Fear Stops You From Succeeding
1.The trap of fearful thoughts
You know you’ve been hit by a wave of fear when your internal dialogue sounds something like this: “I’m going to fail; I can’t do it; I’m not an expert, I’m not good enough; I’m not perfect enough; I’m a fraud; No one will buy from me; There’s never enough!” Thoughts like these replay in a loop and hold you hostage from taking the right actions to get where you want to go, instead you play small and hide.
2. Negative emotions impair your thinking
Negative Emotions such as fear and anger, angst, anxiety, fright, horror, terror and panic keep you locked in the vortex. The emotions turn on the body’s fight or flight response which is a reaction by the nervous system to threats to survival. These threats can be real or imagined, it doesn’t matter. The fight or flight response releases hormones to prime the body to either run or fight off the threat. Once your body is flooded by stress hormones your thinking is temporarily impaired.
If the stress let’s up in a short period, having impaired higher functions of reason and logical thinking isn’t a major problem. But when negative emotions become a chronic state of being then it becomes a huge problem. If you can’t think or reason properly you’re not going to make rational effective decisions. And without right decisions you won’t take the right action steps so you’re likely to make the situation worse.
3. Painful memories from your past
Old memories of events that triggered similar negative emotions and thoughts are likely to bubble up during fearful times. Remembering times you were scared and afraid you were going to fail only pushes you down further into the vortex. The memories put your habitual negative thoughts and emotions on hyper-drive and the vicious cycle continues.
The most common fears people have are public speaking, sales and speaking up. If you have fear around speaking in front of groups for your job or selling products and services for either your employer or your own company, it will affect your success rate. The fear of speaking up will hold you back from asking for a raise or charging what you’re worth for your own services as well.
Example: Say your top is fear selling. You pick up the phone to call a prospect aware that you’re feeling anxious. The moment you’re aware of feeling anxious your body has already sent a cocktail of stress hormones into your blood stream. The stress hormones impair your higher functions of thinking and communicating, which is why things go south in the sales conversation very quickly!
When you’re afraid you will hear your own thoughts over what the person is saying. When that happens you’re not fully present because you’re focused on what to say next, not on the person you’re in a conversation with. The person senses you’re not really listening and then you sense the disconnect with the prospect. Then you start thinking, “This isn’t going well. I’m not going to be able to do this.” or “Ugh, I hate sales! Why am I doing this?” And then the call crashes and burns which only serves to make you feel worse about yourself and imprint the fear and aversion to selling even more deeply.
You’ve got to learn how to shrink the fear so it stops hijacking your success!
How to stop fear from sabotaging your success in life, career and sales
To beat fear you need to have the tools to deal with it when it strikes. You must create a habit around using these tools to systematically stop the fear from stopping you in your tracks. Try using some of these tool to put fear in its place and reach your potential.
- Breathe. When you feel the fear set in take a moment to focus on your breathing. Taking in 3 – 5 breaths slowly, holding them in for few seconds and releasing them slowly will calm you down.
- Meditate. Learn how to meditate and make a daily practice of doing it. You need to know how to go into a calm state before the fear hits. It’s much harder to meditate when you’re already deeply engulfed in a state of fear and anxiety.
- Journal. Get in touch with your intuitive self and ask for advice. Answer an open ended question such as: What is the first step I can take to handle this situation? You’ll be surprised at how much wisdom pours out of you onto the page.

Prosperity and the Luck Frequency (do you have it?)
Today I’m answering a question from Powered by Intuition community member F.M. of Brazil. (If you’d like your question answered subscribe – here so you can submit it).
Question: Do you know how someone who won a windfall or a big prize lottery felt right in the moment of choosing his numbers, or right in the moment when the numbers were drawn? And do you think luck is random chance or can it be manipulated?
Answer: F.M. Thank you for your question. It’s a fascinating one.
People who consistently win big prizes must have an elevated state of consciousness.
They feel completely positive about winning and confident that it’s going to happen for them in every fiber of their being.
Their vibration has to be high, at the level of a “luck frequency” zone when they win. They must be free of any internal resistance to winning. Internal resistance comes up when there are limiting beliefs, negative emotions or experiences around our ability to win big prizes.
There was a women named Helene Hadsell
who won many lotteries and contests. She said that it was all about focusing on winning one thing at time when you entered these contests. She used her mind power to win over and over again. Unfortunately, Hadsell’s book is out of print but you can check out more about her methods here
On the rare occasions that I purchase a lottery ticket I’ve never won any significant amounts of money. I’m aware of my own limiting belief which is that “I’d rather not waste my money,” so that’s a belief I’d have to eliminate if I were to ever seriously focus on winning.
The subconscious mind runs our programming and sadly most people think very negatively. Limiting beliefs such as, “I never win, the odds are against me, I’d have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars buying tickets to win,” are the reasons why most people don’t win lotteries and contests. This is also why it’s a very bad idea to mortgage your house and buy lottery tickets. There have been numerous news stories about people who did this to try to “play the odds” and lost because they hadn’t first addressed their limiting beliefs.
F.M. I know from your email that this is an area of research for you and that you’re not spending every penny you earn entering the lottery or contests (Thank goodness!). I want to be clear that I’m not endorsing making the focus of life entering contests to win money or prizes. There are some people who have made names for themselves winning huge amounts in the lottery numerous times, but for most people pursuit of winning lotteries would not work because they have too many limiting beliefs preventing it from manifesting.
Is luck random or can it be manipulated?
To answer the second part of your question as to whether luck is random or can be manipulated, we have evidence of people like Helene Hadsell who credit focusing the mind to winning contests multiple times. This would lead me to believe winning lotteries and contests, like creating anything else in life isn’t purely “random chance.”
On the other hand, there are people who win lotteries that do have limiting beliefs so perhaps in the moment of purchasing the ticket they were in a higher state of consciousness and rose above their limiting beliefs. And perhaps there is some element of chance to it that people who master the mindset of winning contests and lotteries circumvent.
The basic problem though is that when we have contrary beliefs – it’s highly unlikely we’ll win. This is the reason most people don’t win and why we simply chalk up winning big prizes to random chance. We just don’t believe it’s possible for us.
If you can clear your negative beliefs around winning I do think you can be a winner at many more things in your life. Richard Wiseman wrote a great book called, “The Luck Factor” and his research shows that you can become luckier if you believe that you are lucky. But, again I don’t advocate dedicating your life to winning contests. Clearing negative beliefs so that your life and self-esteem improves is worth the time and effort though.

Create the Right Vibration to Overcome Money Challenges
QUESTION: Today’s question comes from J.B. from PA. She asks: How can I create the right vibration to be rid of money challenges? Thank you J.B. for submitting this great question. I’m sure there are many people who are wondering this as well. (If you have a question you’d like answered subscribe – here).
ANSWER: To create the right vibration so you are “rid of money challenges” you have you think, feel and behave the way a person who has NO money challenges would think, feel and behave.
You have to elevate your emotional vibration above the level of fear, scarcity and worry to the level of joy, appreciation, gratitude and feeling secure. Essentially, you have to become a new person when it comes to the vibrations you emit otherwise you’ll stay in the lower level emotions, thoughts and behaviors and keep creating money situations that are challenging.
Let’s look at an example of how a person who has no financial challenges might be like with money.
- Responsible with money
- Pays bills on time
- Pays off debts or has no debt.
- Has a 6 month emergency fund
- Invests for his/her retirement
- Tracks his/her money and has budget
- Lives within or below his/her means
- Budgets for essential living expenses
- Budgets for entertainment
- Saves up for special purchases.
- Gives generously to others or charity
- Is disciplined and says no to spending when necessary
- Has extra discretionary income each month to “play” with
- Enjoys opening their bills and bank account statements.
After looking over that list what do you think it might “feel like” to be this person?
Would you feel really good? Capable? Confident? Savvy about money? In control of your money? Safe? Secure? Grateful? Generous? Free? Fearless, Happy? Joyful?
It’s likely you’d feel all those things. So, to raise your vibration and overcome your money challenges you must embody the attributes of a person like this and act “as if” you have already overcome your financial difficulties. When your thoughts, feelings and behaviors “match” those of a person who has no financial difficulties your situation around money will shift dramatically for the better.
Follow the three steps below to change your vibration.
3 Steps to raise your vibration and overcome money challenges:
1. Begin a practice of daily meditation on BEING this new person. Top athletes have been doing this for a long time. This practice is called “mental rehearsal.” Commit to going within and imagining with every all your senses how it would feel to be this person who has no money challenges. Create a detailed vision of you living that way and spend at least 15 – 20 minutes a day immersing yourself in this vision. You should come out of your meditation feeling those emotions stated above. If you do this every day your dominant emotions will rise to those shared in the example – and stay there.
2. Start thinking like a person who has their money under control. Ask yourself this question every day: What would a person who has their money situation under control do? And then do it. Would you begin to focus on paying off one bill at a time? Would you polish up your resume and look for a better job? Would you put your expenditures under a microscope and create a budget to live on? Start a savings account and be thrilled to see the balance go up each month? Whatever it is that comes to you each day commit to doing it. The more action you take the faster your vibration will change.
3. Stop allowing your current “reality” to dictate who you are and what you can achieve. What you’re going through does NOT define you. It’s just where you are now. Keep your eye solely focused on your vision, not your current circumstances. This doesn’t mean you don’t address problems in your current reality. You do what needs to be done but you don’t allow your emotions and faith to be pulled down by your current circumstances.
No matter what is happening today in your finances realize it can change and you have the power inside of you to change it. As you change your emotions, thoughts and behaviors around money you do become a new person. You become a person who is very different around money than the person you were before. And as you change inside the reality around you will also change. Absolutely – positively.

How to raise your fees with past clients
Thank you T.D. from Reno, NV for sending in this great question: How do I increase my prices so that I am only working with ideal clients and no longer tolerating non-ideal clients at “grandfathered in rates?” (If you’d like to ask a question subscribe: here.)
This is a dilemma that surfaces after we’ve been in business for several years. When we start our business not only are our rates lower but we don’t have as much as experience or as many customers so we keep our rates low to hang onto the customers we do have. Initially we may also make exceptions and do a lot of customizing for our early customers that we no longer have the luxury of doing as our business grows.
When the business grows and we are more in demand because of our expertise and the results we deliver, the cost for our time rises and that’s only natural. The problem comes when we’ve kept our old clients at the lower rate for far too long and now we’re in a pickle; how do we tell them we’re no longer available at that rate?
Here’s how to handle raising your prices for a past client:
Contact the client either in writing or by phone. You can send an email that says you’d like to speak with them about something and then schedule a time to talk or send a version of what I’ve written below. I think it’s best to speak to them directly if this is ongoing work you do for them.
“I want you to know how much I appreciate you and your business these last X years. I’m so glad I’ve been able to help you get XYZ (insert the amazing results you deliver) for your business too. It’s such a joy having a birds-eye view of your success and growth!
You may not be aware but my fees have gone up since I started my business in XX/XXXX (insert the date). I am now charging $XXXXX.00 for my (services/program/per hour). I know this may be large jump in pricing for you so I wanted to let you know and do something special for you too. I’d like to offer you my (services/program/per hour) at only a half increase between what you’re currently paying and what my fees are for the next round of my (services/program/per hour). After that it will go to current pricing.
I want to keep delivering great service and (XYZ) results for you and keeping my prices current allows me to do that. Please feel free to ask me any questions you have about this and I’ll be glad to reply.”
You could also tell the past client that you’re no longer working on an hourly rate, if that’s the case. Tell them you’re now only taking on “project work,” meaning it’s based on delivering a specific end result. Tell the past client that your business model has changed and that going forward you offer the following menu of project work services at these prices. Offer to give them their next “project” at a one time discount that is greater than what they’re paying now but less than the full price of the project work.” Remind them that after this all project work will be at your current prices.
People do pick up on our feelings
The worst feeling in the world is to be resentful of a client because you’re not being paid what you’re worth. Even if you don’t say a word they will sense it. Emotions have an energetic signature that people pick up on. Holding back from being forthright about your fees because you feel uncomfortable sets the energetic tone for all transactions in your business. It communicates an underlying hesitancy that you might not believe you’re worth what you’re charging. Stating your fees with full confidence is how you will attract future ideal clients. Pull the band-aid off quickly and do this. It’s time.
If this is a client you no longer wish to work with it may work out for the best if they decide to discontinue using your services. But either way you do yourself a disservice by charging too little for your services. When you’re charging all your clients what feels right you will attract your ideal customers who will see your worth and value. The best experience for both ourselves and customers comes from feeling joyful doing our work!

What does raising your vibration do?

What does Raising Your Vibration Mean?
To raise your vibration is to overcome your negative emotions. The emotions of Courage, Acceptance, Tolerance, Love, and Joy are higher on the emotional scale as opposed to Anger, Revenge, Violence, Hate, Resentment, Judgement, Criticism, Apathy, Depression, Guilt, Fear, and Anxiety. When you’re free of those heavy dark emotions your “vibration” naturally rises to the lighter positive emotions. When your dominant emotions are at the higher levels you’re not held back by your fears and live up to your potential.
Why do we call it “vibrations?”
You are “alive” because of the electromagnetic impulses that cause your heart to beat, lungs to pump and brain to process information. The energy being emitted from your body can be mapped out by attaching electrodes to your head or chest. When you are in a state of distress the rhythm of these electromagnetic impulses goes from steady to erratic. And if you’ve died those rhythms are “flatlined.”
Your emotional state affects the rhythm of these electromagnetic pulsations or frequencies. Dr. David R. Hawkins, author of “Power Vs. Force” mapped out the human emotions from the lowest to the highest using muscle testing. His work shows that when we feel “low” or “down and out” or in a “dark place” the energy we emit from those corresponding down and dark emotions is also moving or “vibrating” more slowly.
Why Raise Your Vibration?
Raising your vibration to the higher positive emotions energizes you. You feel more alive, happier and joyful and you actually are more alive because you’re healthier. You have more life force energy running through your body than someone who is depressed, or angry all the time. Dwelling in the negative emotional states is a precursor to many diseases.
When your general emotional state is positive you’re enthusiastic about life and there’s a “lightness” about you. You’re aware of your purpose and more easily live it. You have more confidence and faith in yourself and deal with any challenges that arise more effectively. You feel more in control of your life and positive about your future and in general your life is pretty good. You attract positive people and fortunate circumstances into to your life because “like attracts like.” People genuinely like and want to be around you.
Have you ever noticed that no matter how hard you try you cannot be around someone who stays in those dark negative emotions for too long a period? It’s hard to spend too much time around people who see themselves as victims all the time with every excuse as to why “they can’t,” complainers, angry people who blame others for everything, judgmental people and critical people. It’s too draining. After a while you just want to avoid them not just because it’s unpleasant or depressing but because their low energy state siphons off some of your life energy.
When you’re around a person who thinks like a victim or feels helpless or hopeless it’s a cry for help whether they’re aware of it or not. Their neediness leeches energy from you and you sense it. This is not to say we shouldn’t be compassionate and help others, it’s just to illustrate why you feel drained after spending time around someone in one of these states.
Raise your Vibration
To raise your vibration commit to becoming aware of your thoughts and emotions and have a daily practice of clearing the negative ones. The goal is to begin to expand awareness of your thoughts and emotions so that you can nip these trips down to the lower depths in the bud. This way you’ll spend less time in the darker emotions before you bounce back up. After a while if you’re serious and diligent about your practice, you may only spend a few moments in anger, self-pity or depression (to name a few), before the higher emotions kick back in
How to Raise Your Vibration in 5 Steps
Step 1: Discipline your self to become aware of your thoughts and feelings. This is a must. Your thoughts and feelings can be trained but only if you take the time to become aware of them first. Create the intention to do this. Keep a journal and write about the the darker and emotions you had during the day. To “snap out of it” in the moment each time you catch yourself going down the rabbit hole tell your self to “STOP!.
Step 2: De-stress and decompress. Meditate daily to release built up pressure so you can return to a calm centered state. Any form of meditation that slows the mental chatter works. Meditation helps you become aware of your thoughts and emotions.
Step 3: Retrain your thoughts and emotions. As you become aware of the negative thinking patterns and corresponding emotions that are pulling you down make a list of them. Go through each one and apply logic and reason to deflate and refute each one.
It’s the relentless intrusive thoughts that push people down into the depths of the lower emotions. And for the most part what those intrusive thoughts peddle is untrue! That’s why you’ve got to take back control of your mind by deflating those inner negative voices with logic. When you deflate the inner demons you will see things more realistically and your perception will shift. A Course In Miracles defines a miracle as a shift in perception because when you see things differently – things change.
Step 4: Release judgement and blaming. When you stop judging others you will no longer attract critical people who judge you. When you stop blaming and making excuses you begin taking responsibility for everything in your life. That’s a huge step up on the emotional scale. As your awareness of your thoughts and emotions grows you’re able to corral them back up to the higher levels before they can drag you down. Your thoughts and feelings are no longer “unconscious” where they can make you react on autopilot.
Step 5: Forgive yourself and everyone. It takes a lot of energy to hold onto resentments, anger and blame. When you don’t forgive it’s because somehow you think that withholding forgiveness is punishing the other person but the truth is it’s hurting you not them. It’s keeping you frozen in the lower emotions and in unhappiness.
One of the biggest obstacles to forgiving is pride. If you hear yourself thinking “How dare SHE or HE!” That is your pride keeping you stuck because of your need to be right. When you forgive your emotional state will rise to the higher levels and you’ll feel happy again.

So, why aren’t you living your purpose and fulfilling your potential?
We might even question why we are stuck in jobs we hate and work with people with whom we can’t relate, when some people seem to find something they love to do and appear to love their lives. The answer is that we are either afraid to listen to our intuition and take that leap of faith, or we truly haven’t heard our intuition our whole lives. p. 11 The Intuition Principle
Answering the intuitive call
If you feel that you’re not living your purpose, fulfilling your potential and that there has to be more to life, then your Intuition is trying to get your attention. You’re feeling this because it’s your Truth. You’ve got to tune into that unique thing in you that wants to be expressed. And if it continues to elude you find out what’s blocking it from surfacing.
Fear is the reason why most people don’t live their purpose and fulfill their potential. Fear keeps them stuck in their comfort zone. It’s also the reason behind the lack of clarity about their purpose.
When someone says to me, “I don’t know my purpose and I don’t feel drawn to anything.”
The very next question I ask them is this, “What would you be doing if money were not a concern?”
Of course asking this hypothetical question opens the flood gate of desire within them and out comes the purpose they’ve suppressed for years!
Why? Because, the fear of going past the edge of their comfort zone produced so much anxiety that it was much easier to suppress their desire and intuition and think they “didn’t know their purpose.” If you don’t know your purpose there’s no way you can actualize it, right?
Your purpose isn’t hiding from you
Ask yourself what you would be doing if money were no object and you’ll see you do have desires. It’s just that all the fearful voices about living it drown out your intuition. When you have that dream well up inside of you and feel excited that’s an intuitive pull toward living your purpose. Living your purpose means changing your life in some way, and for most people that’s really scary. Your fears about change are what keep you stuck not living your purpose.
Fear is a powerful emotion
You’ve got to be clear on which fears are stopping you. Once you locate the exact fear you can breakthrough it and deflate it. If you don’t consciously deal with your fears you allow them to dictate your reactions, behavior and life in general. And that’s how people get stuck not living their purpose and fulfilling their potential.
How to overcome fear in three steps
- Identify your specific fear(s) by asking yourself, “What am I afraid of?”
- Deflate them using logic.
- Keep doing this on every fear that comes up until no more come up.
Here are three examples:
Fear – You’re going to fail.
All people who set out to do something fail at some point. Thomas Edison said, “I have not failed. I just found 10000 ways that don’t work.” Sure you might fail but so what? Isn’t it better to strive toward actualizing your purpose than to sit around cowering in fear and do nothing? Plus, you don’t know what wonderful things may befall you because you got out there and tried. Sitting home in fear isn’t going to bring new people and experiences into your life is it?
Fear – You’re too old.
If you can read you’re not too old to learn about a subject that interests you. If you have the desire you can go back to school or take courses to learn what you need to. Most people who say this are really thinking about how long it will take and how old they’ll be when they’ve fully integrated this “purpose” into their lives. But the truth is however old you are now you will eventually be XX years old anyway. So isn’t it better to use the next couple years getting to where you want to be?
Fear – You won’t make any/enough money.
This is a common fear that stops a lot of people. Who says you have to quit your job? Pursue your purpose on the side. Do it for the sake of feeling fulfilled and satisfied. If you later feel that there is a path toward making your purpose your full time gig go for it. There are no rules when it comes to living your life purpose. Doing what you love on the side doesn’t make it any less of a life purpose.
Stop putting so much pressure on yourself
I want to clear up a notion about life purpose….many people think their purpose has to be grandiose in order to “qualify” as a life purpose but that’s not true. And that may be the reason some people go in circles for years searching for their purpose.
Your life purpose satisfies something in you.
It’s the thing that lights you up and you cannot help but be drawn to doing it. It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with any specific job, making money, fame or being viewed as successful.
Your life purpose is a unique expression of you
Perhaps you are a fabulous host or hostess and your dinner parties are legendary. You’re a born nurturer and love bringing people together over a home cooked meal at your home. That’s a purpose because it’s satisfying something in you and that’s why you do it.
To actualize your purpose and fulfill your potential you have to overcome the fears that stop you first. Once you’re free of the fear that suppresses your purpose it will come to light and you will start living it and living up to your potential.
