The Luck Frequency and Why Giving Always Comes Back
I won something! If you read my article “Prosperity and The Luck Frequency” I wrote that I never win anything of great value…..well, I’m here to say that’s no longer true. I won a free marketing course from Market Like a Nerd founder, Amanda Goldman-Petrie. It made my day and so I’m grateful.
Feeling into the Frequency of Luck
After being prompted to write the article by a PBI reader’s question, I decided to see what would happen if I focused intently on “feeling like a winner.” I felt into the vibe of being a winner and let it sink in. I visualized myself celebrating something and being very excited about it. I added this step to my daily meditation with no expectation in mind, which means I was not attached to any particular outcome (hint – non-attachment is very important). Each and every day I allowed myself to really feel the frequency of luck and I was pleasantly surprised to win this wonderful and useful prize.
Giving is a major part of the equation
You must feel into the luck frequency with complete non-attachment and you must also give to others with no expectations or attachment to “receiving” in return as well. Everything we perceive from physical objects to thoughts and emotions is pure energy at its core and has its own unique vibrational frequency. When you give you’re circulating energy that vibrates high on the scale of human consciousness. The more you emit this frequency and are of service to others the more enriched your life will become. When I say “enriched” I don’t mean to limit it to money, although it can be. To live a rich life is to have an abundance of love, happiness, joy, good relationships and good health – not just money.
Raise your vibration by giving without expecting anything in return
When you give unconditionally you feel good. When you feel good because you’ve helped someone that automatically brings your emotions up on the scale of consciousness. Dr. David Hawkins, creator of the scale of consciousness demarcates the vibration 200 which corresponds to Courage, as the level we must rise to in order to cross the line from the negative emotions to the positive ones. Giving falls in the vibratory rate of 350. The more predominantly your emotions stay in the positive state above 200, the more your life changes for the better because remember, like always attracts like. This is the reason why “giving” always comes back in some form when you remain predominantly in the higher emotions.
Gratitude is another important component of the Luck Frequency. During my meditation I not only visualized myself being excited and celebrating something I also felt grateful and “blessed” to have received so I visualized myself sharing the blessing by giving to others. I visualized someone being happy and surprised by something I’d given them. When we receive we must share the blessing by feeling grateful and then doing something good for others. You must allow the blessing to move and circulate from you to someone else.
Dissecting the Frequency of Luck
Luck appears to have three very distinct components.
1. Feeling like a winner. Feel the joy of winning and believe and expect that good will come to you.
2. Giving to others with no expectation of getting anything in return. Give for the joy of giving. Give because you love to.
3. Being grateful for all you have and experience in your life. Feel the joy of being blessed and be grateful. Be thankful and celebrate.
It doesn’t matter what order you feel these emotional components. All that matters is that you feel them together in the present. Did you notice that Joy is the common element that ties the Luck Frequency together? According to Dr. Hawkins Joy has a vibration of 540. If you can tap into feeling joyous frequently you will automatically be in the frequency of luck and love where you can share your blessings with others.
Try focusing on the component emotions of Luck Frequency and see what happens to you. Share your comments with us. Let’s have a conversation.

What does raising your vibration do?
First, I want to thank J.B., the Powered by Intuition community member who submitted his question on this fascinating topic. If you have a question you’d like me to answer subscribe to PBI here so you can send it to me.
What does Raising Your Vibration Mean?
To raise your vibration is to overcome your negative emotions. The emotions of Courage, Acceptance, Tolerance, Love, and Joy are higher on the emotional scale as opposed to Anger, Revenge, Violence, Hate, Resentment, Judgement, Criticism, Apathy, Depression, Guilt, Fear, and Anxiety. When you’re free of those heavy dark emotions your “vibration” naturally rises to the lighter positive emotions. When your dominant emotions are at the higher levels you’re not held back by your fears and live up to your potential.
Why do we call it “vibrations?”
You are “alive” because of the electromagnetic impulses that cause your heart to beat, lungs to pump and brain to process information. The energy being emitted from your body can be mapped out by attaching electrodes to your head or chest. When you are in a state of distress the rhythm of these electromagnetic impulses goes from steady to erratic. And if you’ve died those rhythms are “flatlined.”
Your emotional state affects the rhythm of these electromagnetic pulsations or frequencies. Dr. David R. Hawkins, author of “Power Vs. Force” mapped out the human emotions from the lowest to the highest using muscle testing. His work shows that when we feel “low” or “down and out” or in a “dark place” the energy we emit from those corresponding down and dark emotions is also moving or “vibrating” more slowly.
Why Raise Your Vibration?
Raising your vibration to the higher positive emotions energizes you. You feel more alive, happier and joyful and you actually are more alive because you’re healthier. You have more life force energy running through your body than someone who is depressed, or angry all the time. Dwelling in the negative emotional states is a precursor to many diseases.
When your general emotional state is positive you’re enthusiastic about life and there’s a “lightness” about you. You’re aware of your purpose and more easily live it. You have more confidence and faith in yourself and deal with any challenges that arise more effectively. You feel more in control of your life and positive about your future and in general your life is pretty good. You attract positive people and fortunate circumstances into to your life because “like attracts like.” People genuinely like and want to be around you.
Have you ever noticed that no matter how hard you try you cannot be around someone who stays in those dark negative emotions for too long a period? It’s hard to spend too much time around people who see themselves as victims all the time with every excuse as to why “they can’t,” complainers, angry people who blame others for everything, judgmental people and critical people. It’s too draining. After a while you just want to avoid them not just because it’s unpleasant or depressing but because their low energy state siphons off some of your life energy.
When you’re around a person who thinks like a victim or feels helpless or hopeless it’s a cry for help whether they’re aware of it or not. Their neediness leeches energy from you and you sense it. This is not to say we shouldn’t be compassionate and help others, it’s just to illustrate why you feel drained after spending time around someone in one of these states.
Raise your Vibration
To raise your vibration commit to becoming aware of your thoughts and emotions and have a daily practice of clearing the negative ones. The goal is to begin to expand awareness of your thoughts and emotions so that you can nip these trips down to the lower depths in the bud. This way you’ll spend less time in the darker emotions before you bounce back up. After a while if you’re serious and diligent about your practice, you may only spend a few moments in anger, self-pity or depression (to name a few), before the higher emotions kick back in
How to Raise Your Vibration in 5 Steps
Step 1: Discipline your self to become aware of your thoughts and feelings. This is a must. Your thoughts and feelings can be trained but only if you take the time to become aware of them first. Create the intention to do this. Keep a journal and write about the the darker and emotions you had during the day. To “snap out of it” in the moment each time you catch yourself going down the rabbit hole tell your self to “STOP!.
Step 2: De-stress and decompress. Meditate daily to release built up pressure so you can return to a calm centered state. Any form of meditation that slows the mental chatter works. Meditation helps you become aware of your thoughts and emotions.
Step 3: Retrain your thoughts and emotions. As you become aware of the negative thinking patterns and corresponding emotions that are pulling you down make a list of them. Go through each one and apply logic and reason to deflate and refute each one.
It’s the relentless intrusive thoughts that push people down into the depths of the lower emotions. And for the most part what those intrusive thoughts peddle is untrue! That’s why you’ve got to take back control of your mind by deflating those inner negative voices with logic. When you deflate the inner demons you will see things more realistically and your perception will shift. A Course In Miracles defines a miracle as a shift in perception because when you see things differently – things change.
Step 4: Release judgement and blaming. When you stop judging others you will no longer attract critical people who judge you. When you stop blaming and making excuses you begin taking responsibility for everything in your life. That’s a huge step up on the emotional scale. As your awareness of your thoughts and emotions grows you’re able to corral them back up to the higher levels before they can drag you down. Your thoughts and feelings are no longer “unconscious” where they can make you react on autopilot.
Step 5: Forgive yourself and everyone. It takes a lot of energy to hold onto resentments, anger and blame. When you don’t forgive it’s because somehow you think that withholding forgiveness is punishing the other person but the truth is it’s hurting you not them. It’s keeping you frozen in the lower emotions and in unhappiness.
One of the biggest obstacles to forgiving is pride. If you hear yourself thinking “How dare SHE or HE!” That is your pride keeping you stuck because of your need to be right. When you forgive your emotional state will rise to the higher levels and you’ll feel happy again.
Which of the negative emotions has been most problematic for you? Can you see how it’s suppressing your happiness? Are you ready to commit to the daily practice of raising your vibration?

The Intuitively Inspired Life & the Hero’s Journey
Do You feel Called?
A week ago I spent the weekend with Oprah, that is me and about 2000 other people who attended her “The Life You Want Weekend” event in Newark, New Jersey.
The topic of living the life you want and following your life’s purpose is extremely relevant for me. I left two major careers to follow my bliss; I hope to get it right this time. As you can see, I’m passionate about exploring, writing and sharing this especially as it relates to intuition so I was really excited to attend the The Life You Want Weekend.
Oprah spoke for two hours about her own journey to discover and live her purpose. Her life story is and has always been inspiring and she is a moving speaker. I’m a long time fan so it was no surprise that I was transfixed and, judging from the silence in the stadium so were my fellow attendees.
The second day she presented a line up of great speakers from Mark Nepo, Elizabeth Gilbert and Rob Bell to Iyanla Vanzant to further explore the topic of living your purpose and living the life you want. Each of them were inspiring in their own way.
Light bulb moment
I had a major ‘aha’ when Elizabeth Gilbert spoke about Joseph Campbell‘s life work studying mythology and the universality of the “hero’s journey” which he wrote about in, “The Hero with A Thousand Faces.”
The myth of the hero’s journey pervades every culture
In countless stories throughout the ages mythical ordinary people follow the plot line of transformation to overcome fear, challenges, obstacles, and slay monsters to emerge as the hero.
The myth of the hero’s journey lives on because of all the everyday people, like you and me, who continue to embark on this journey.
To live this journey is to be transformed from the ordinary to extraordinary. It isn’t something you can assimilate intellectually. It has to be experienced and it is the only way to truly reach your peak potential.
My “aha” moment took place when I realized that the “intuitively inspired life” is living the hero’s journey. I wrote about living an intuitively inspired life in, The Intuition Principle: How to Attract the Life You Dream Of.
Living an intuitively inspired life is:
When you feel that pull inside that you were meant for something greater and allow your intuition to guide you toward it. Following it you will be led on a journey to places you never dreamed of, you will meet with incredible people and opportunities that you never dreamed of and in the end what you will discover is your authentic self, your true greatness and your life purpose.
Face your fears and leave the land of your comfort zone, no matter the cost.
Answer “the call” to be more, to live a bigger life, to fulfill your potential and greatness by being the hero in your own life and by doing what everyone else secretly wishes to do.
You will return from this journey a changed person and….
You will become a person who now dwells in the land of possibility
You will become a person who says “I can do it and I will do it.”
You will become a person who says, “Why not me?”
You will become a person who leads rather than follows.
And, you will become the fearless hero in your own life story.
So let me ask you, “Do you feel called?” How long will you wait to answer the call?

A reader asks, “How do we forgive forever?”
I always assumed that once you forgave it was forever.
As I thought about this I recalled all the forgiveness work I had to do regarding a previous relationship.
It took a long, long time of repeatedly focusing on forgiving to “forgive forever.”
But after I had forgiven I could easily think of this person and wish them well whereas before, I couldn’t. Until I finally forgave every thought I had of the person brought up the anger and pain again. I worked on this continually though for nearly two years until I was free.
And that perhaps is the answer…
Unless the act we are forgiving only superficially wounded us, it’s going to take time to clear your heart of the negative emotions you’re hanging onto to get to being able to “forgive forever.”
Forgiveness has to be a daily effort.
One of the ways to clear your heart and forgive is to use a mantra such as the one from Ho’oponopono which is “an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness.” (Wikipedia).
The mantra is:
I’m sorry. Forgive me. Thank you. I love you.
Another powerful mantra that I have used is from Sahaja Yoga:
I forgive. I forgive everyone including myself.
You also have to want to forgive forever.
Some people say they do but really, deep down they enjoy being the victim and telling their story over and over. They’ve become emotionally addicted to the attention and sympathy they get when they tell their stories. If you hang onto to your story you’ll never forgive forever.
Another part of the forgiveness puzzle lies in actually “accepting” what has happened.
When you can’t accept what has happened what you’re really saying is that you cannot accept that your life has been changed forever. You are forcibly holding onto the past and what has been and deep down you’re probably not able to forgive yourself.
When someone does this it’s usually their way of not acknowledging fear and other toxic emotions such as guilt, humiliation, shame and embarrassment about how their lives have changed. The answer is to forgive yourself and then work on self-love and love for all of life in general.
Living with abuse
If the situation is ongoing – that’s entirely different. We all have free will and choice in our lives. Forgiving someone doesn’t mean putting up with abuse of any kind. Leave and end the relationship then begin working on forgiving.
It’s not going to be possible to forgive if you have a new fresh wound to heal each day. You’re not meant to be a martyr.
If you can’t leave – use the mantras and release the toxic emotions daily until you can leave.
The Scale of Consciousness
Holding onto anger and not forgiving someone ultimately hurts you not the person you’re angry with.
I had the privilege of seeing Dr. David R Hawkins demonstrate his “scale of consciousness” using muscle testing in 2007 while at an I Can Do It conference. The muscle testing clearly showed how what we feel and think affects the body. His work and many others since show that toxic emotions weaken the body and will eventually lead to illness.
Lower level emotions emit the lowest vibrations and hanging onto them does equate to “drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.”
Hawkins created a scale of consciousness based on these emotions. (Check it out here.)
True forgiveness is being at peace. You’ll know when you have forgiven forever when you’re able to think about what happened and no longer have your emotions provoked.
You can forgive forever in fact, I recommend it. Let go, forgive, forget and move on.
Are you still holding onto anger? What is it costing you to not forgive?
Spiritual Laws of Success: How to Gain the Support of the Universe
Do you ever wonder how some people seem to get everything they want?
You know the kind of people I’m talking about, the ones who appear to have been born under a lucky star?
Everything goes their way and each time they set out to accomplish something not only to do they but, they make a smashing success out of it.
Whatever they touch or desire to bring about unfolds elegantly and almost magically with the Universe supporting them with one synchronicity or serendipitous event after another. They set out to do something and “suddenly” the money appears to complete their project (synchronicity) or they meet a person out of the “clear blue” who profoundly changes the direction of their life forever afterward (serendipity).
These types of people aren’t born under a lucky star at all.
In fact there is a “system” to how they behave and how they think that you can emulate in order to gain the support of the Universe too.
They are simply following the spiritual laws of success, whether they realize it or not, which results in the Universe mirroring back to them exactly what they put out.
The Universe isn’t random
Whatever we do, think and say creates the response and reaction we get from the Universe. If we don’t like the reactions we are getting it means WE have to change because one thing is for sure, the Universe isn’t about to.
The “Universe” is a self-organizing system that reacts to our actions. This means that there is an underlying program that runs the Universe. And this program has been set to react in specific ways to our actions, which is a good thing because it shows there is a pattern we can study and learn from. If we put in a bit of effort to study the actions of successful people we too can learn how to better interact with the Universe in order to achieve greater results.
Spiritual Laws of Success
The spiritual laws of success I’m referring to come from Raymond Holliwell’s book, “Working with the Law.”
How to get the Universe to Support You by properly using the Spiritual Laws
1. Law of Thinking: Watch your thoughts. Do not allow yourself to go down a path of negative thinking about anything. Stop complaining! You push away your good when you do that.
2. Law of Supply: Think Big. Don’t limit your supply by focusing on what you don’t have. The Universe is unlimited and your life is unlimited. Only you put limitations upon it.
3. Law of Attraction: Create a strong desire and expect that it will manifest. Your desire must be a vibrational match for what you desire. See it, feel it and know that it will manifest and and act as if it already has.
4. Law of Receiving: Focus on what you can give others. The more you give the more you will get. When you are only focused on getting or believe you’re “owed” something the law of receiving won’t work.
5. Law of Increase: Praise increases your good. Use positive affirmations. See the good in every situation and then focus on that. The more you praise or “bless” a situation the more increase you will see.
6. Law of Compensation: The more you put in the more you’ll get back. The only way to become successful is to work at it. You can’t just dream about it and expect to be compensated. You have to do the work.
7. Law of Non-Resistance: Quit focusing on obstacles. Go around them instead! If something stands in your way find another way instead. There is always a solution and you find it when you stop obsessing about the obstacle.
8. Law of Forgiveness: Increase the flow of good in your life by forgiving. Forgiving allows you to release the energy around the situation that was frozen within you. This frees you and frees up the flow of good.
9. The Law of Sacrifice: Nothing comes without a price. If you really want to do something it will entail sacrifice of some sort. There are only 1,440 minutes in a day. You have to make hard choices sometimes to get where you want to go.
10. Law of Obedience: You can’t outsmart the laws that govern the Universe. Use them properly and they work for you. Use them improperly and they will work against you.
11. Law of Success: Take action now. Nothing is more empowering than action. Let go of excuses, overcome your fear and indecision and take a stand for your success.
This is what successful people do to gain the support of the Universe. Are you ready to do what it takes to take a stand for your success? If so the Universe will have your back too.

Spiritual Awakening: Why Your Dilemma is Your Dharma
“The essence of the Dharma (the teachings of the Buddha) is about
identifying the cause of our suffering & alleviating it.” –Allan Lokos
Will my life ever settle down again or is struggling the new normal?
Do you feel the foundation of your life just slipping away like sand under your feet?
If so, you’re not alone. Many people are feeling lost and as if their lives are on shaky ground.
For many people these changes are directly impacting their financial security and careers, for others their relationships or their health. Have you lost a job? Is there a possibility you may be laid off? Or, are you feeling dissatisfied in your existing career because it no longer suits the person you’ve become?
This is one of the many ways the Universe speaks to us.
If at first we cannot hear the whisper of our intuition, and later we disregard the voice of our intuition, the Universe ramps up its effort to communicate to us from gentle raps to pulling the rug right out from under our lives entirely. If you’re in the latter phase – you missed the gentle reminders. Do not fear no matter what phase you’re in the Universe will support your efforts to listen and heed her guidance to turn your life around again.
The root causes of current painful circumstances
Everyone has bad things happen to them but, when the same sort of misfortune befalls us over and over it is time to look within to see if perhaps this circumstance is not just another unfortunate incident but, is mirroring something that’s going on inside of us. Nothing that happens to you is isolated and in a vacuum. Everything that is now causing you immense pain started as a tiny little bruise. The only reason it escalated to such a degree is because you’ve not been paying attention to the more subtle cues. Now the Universe has to go to greater lengths to get your attention.
The fact that you‘ve not been paying attention shows that you have not been ready to learn that everything in our lives is a mirror of what is going on inside of us. When you come to understand this great truth you will have come far on your journey toward finding the meaning and purpose for your life.
The seeds of event you now face were within you from the moment of your birth and can be found in your birth chart. How your character develops from these seeds creates your character and ultimately your destiny. As you evolve and grow in awareness you react with more spiritual finesse.
We have contributed to creating every circumstance that shows up in our lives. Our beliefs and behaviors drew these situations into our lives. We will need to open our eyes and learn how our thinking has affected our physical environment. We will need to recognize that it is now our obligation and duty to deal with the conflicts we’ve created and learn from them. It is now our dharma.
What is dharma?
Dharma refers to the natural law of the Universe, one’s personal obligations, life path, calling and duties and state of realization. You might think of it as the lessons learned by living in this reality that awaken you spiritually.
When you recognize that your dilemma is your dharma you’ve already climbed “Challenge Mountain.” The next step is to integrate the lesson of this challenge in your life and face why the mountain appeared in the first place.
When a molehill becomes a mountain it is because we chose to ignore the problems growing before our very eyes. It usually takes a long time for a molehill to become a mountain which would mean that we were not ready to take responsibility for our role, no matter how small, in creating our dilemma.
Examples of lessons dharma teaches
Take this example: A spouse wakes up one day to find their partner has left them. Do you think this mountain sprang up overnight? No, certainly not. There has to have been problems that were ignored for a long time for the partner to have left like this.
Here’s another example: Your boss fires you. Did this just spring up in one day? It’s not likely. There has to have been things happening at your job between you and your boss for quite some time.
What about having your car repossessed? Or the house foreclosed upon or even being hounded by bill collectors? There are years of attitudes and behavior behind each of these events.
When the student needs a lesson the problem appears
All of these examples are quite extreme and I certainly hope your problems are less severe but, the fact remains, everything that happens in our lives, that we view as negative had its roots in the small ways we addressed and behaved regarding some problem. The trick is to use the problems when they’re still small as “signs” that adjustments are needed in our lives.
Think of the small problems as winds which are pushing you off the course you’re on and now require that you change the way the sails are set in order to stay on course. If you initially see small problems as needed course corrections you’ll be more apt to avoid the huge dilemmas that you’re now facing.
When we’ve ignored small problems and allowed them to become huge we’ve lost control over our lives. We haven’t used our intelligence and power to affect the trajectory of our lives while the course is still not critical. By waiting we allow the winds to whip our boat way off course into uncharted waters where we face even more dangers.
Learn to be objective about problems and to face and fix them right away
If you find that you keep running up credit card bills and run out of money at the end of each month. Put yourself on a strict budget. Get real about what is a necessity and what is frivolous spending – every penny adds up. Do you really need a case of store bought water in the garage? Wouldn’t it be wiser to have a simple water filtration system and reusable water bottles? Accept that you are living beyond your means now before this little problem turns into one that can sink your entire life. Change your ways and start living within your means.
Turn within and reflect upon why you have this need to spend so much money every month. Do you feel insecure unless you have the latest fashions and look a certain way?
Do you want to keep up with the Joneses and foster a false appearance of being wealthier than you are? Why do you care so much about what other people think?
You need to do some soul searching and become really honest with yourself. This is the only way you’re going to avoid the Universe knocking on your door with really bad news about your financial situation one day.
Do this with all problems that arise in your life whether you attribute the cause of the problem that has arisen to someone else or not. Each of us is equally culpable for the problems we face in our lives. You can’t avoid repercussions by blaming it on someone. If it appeared in your life you alone must deal with it. It certainly is nice to have support though and this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t ask for or accept help.
Once you’ve awakened to seeing your problems as signs that your behavior and responses need to be addressed you can begin to take control of your life. When bad things happen to us it’s an opportunity to see how the world mirrors what has been going on inside of us. Thank the Universe for showing you so clearly and begin to make your course correction.
See your dilemma as an opportunity
Perhaps getting fired from your job was what you wanted deep down? Then thank the Universe for releasing you from that path so that you can now pursue work you love.
Maybe your spouse did you a favor by leaving? If you have been unhappy for years and known at a gut level that your marriage was not working see this as an opportunity to reinvent yourself and your life.
An unfortunate incident like losing your home to foreclosure will teach you valuable lessons if you are open to accepting your role in contributing to creating this circumstance. If you blame others and take no responsibility you are not ready to grow and understand the language of the Universe yet.
Our life circumstances contain encoded messages about how we are interacting with our environment
When you begin to see that your dilemma is your dharma you will be ready to follow the “right” path in your life. You are ready and willing to learn and assimilate many life lessons that will serve you well for the rest of your days.
Recognizing the path of dharma says that your consciousness has expanded, that spiritual growth is paramount in your life. You’re growing spiritually and moving into a higher phase of spiritual awakening. You’ve outgrown a victim mindset and no longer attribute problems in your life to others because you see the oneness in all life and in everything that happens around you.
You have learned that like throwing a pebble in a pond every thought and action you take sends out rings that affect everyone and everything in your world. And, once you’re consciousness has expanded it can never shrink back down again – you can never not know what you now know. You are well on your way to seeing more and more of the miracles right under nose with your expanded consciousness. Spiritual awakening is your dharma and part of a life path toward fulfilling your life purpose.
Is the Universe trying to get your attention? What lessons might you be ready to acknowledge? Do you recognize why learning these lessons is part of your life purpose?
