Change Your Life In 28 Days With Mind Alchemy

  • Sharebar
Today I have the pleasure of interviewing Steven Aitchison, of Change Your Thoughts.
Steve is launching a fantastic free course titled: Mind Alchemy, Change Your Life In 28 Days.

I’ve enrolled in his course and am very excited about the prospect of changing my life in 28 days!
.
Steve is not only a tireless worker, but a dynamic and endlessly creative individual. I thought it would be fascinating for us to learn more about him and about his new completely free course Mind Alchemy.

Change Your Thoughts is a top self development blog that has been around for almost 4 years. That’s a long time in “blog years!” In that time you’ve grown your subscriber list to more than 16,000 readers which is obviously a tribute to your ability to speak to the needs of your readers.

Do you have a “recipe” for success that you can share with readers?

Focus!  When I started to focus on my blog and my blog readers solely, instead of doing a hundred other things online, my subscribers jumped from 3,000 in August 2009, to 16,000 today.  Have a blogging schedule, network with like minded bloggers, write your own products: free and paid for, and do it often, give your readers a reason to subscribe, and always have more than one way to subscribe to your blog: sidebar, one time pop-up to catch reader just passing, at the bottom of each post.

What inspired you to begin blogging and to create Change Your Thoughts? Has it met your expectations?

I has finished a degree in Psychology, to prove to myself I could do it and because I was interested in the subject, but I had never really put the degree to use.  So I wanted a way to combine what I had learned throughout my life, and the changes I had been making, and the degree in psychology.  I then came across Steve Pavlina’s blog and found the answer: blogging.

My expectations were that I could talk to a lot of people and make a lot of money, so from that point of view it definitely did not meet my expectations.  However when I re-focused on my blog in August 2009 and I started connecting with my readers everything changed.  The number of comments per post has jumped to around 40-50, the interaction with readers on my facebook and twitter page has jumped.  It really is all about the connections and interactions and the money will follow.

I love the idea that you can “Change Your Life in 28 Days.” Can you explain how the Mind Alchemy program works?

Mind Alchemy will be blog based, meaning that every day for the month of February there will be a post on the blog with an an article and an exercise to do each day which will take from 30 – 90 minutes.  There will also be 4 daily practices, which will be introduced over the 28 days.

What results can participants expect in 28 days? What kinds of things will they be learning and doing?

To know yourself as much as possible is the greatest path to achieving your outcomes in life, without knowing why you do the things you do, you are not going to change much.  This course is a rapid way of getting to know yourself and change your thinking, and ultimately change your life.

Some of the topics you will learn are: How to rapidly change your beliefs, unearth your principles and values in life, getting a clear picture on your outcomes, how to overcome fear, using your emotions to your advantage.  There will be an exercise journal sheet to fill in most days, which you can keep to refer back to again and again.  It’s going to be a fun way to change as there are over 600 participants between the blog and the Facebook group so being accountable is a big part of doing this course.

Why do you feel it’s important for people to participate in Mind Alchemy? What benefits will they receive?

It’s important if you feel you are stuck in a rut and don’t know how to move on, or know what your next step is.  Mind Alchemy offers a way and a community of people who are willing to make changes in their life.

The community aspect is the biggest part to the equation.  If you hold yourself accountable to over 600 readers then that’s huge motivation to make changes in your life.  Also, you will be receiving encouragement from 600 other readers :)

The program is free. Why? From what you’re proposing it looks as if there’s going to be a great deal of value given to the participants. It also appears that a great deal of work went into it on your part.

I have been working on this for the last two months, writing, tweaking and trying to think of ways to make it better.  Between the course and the workbook I have written around 40,000 words, enough for a book :)

However this is the first time I have rolled out the course, so the reason it’s free is to get feedback.  I want to make this a great course for change and getting everyone’s feedback at the end of the course will be great.

Do you ever feel that by focusing on self development as a blogger that you have gained as much if not more than your readers by taking your own advice and from “walking your walk and talking your talk?”

They say you teach what you most need to learn yourself, in some ways that is true.  Focusing on self development has kept my attention on my own self development.  I don’t think i would be the person I am today if I hadn’t been writing about self development.

Where do you see yourself and Change Your Thoughts in five years?

Change your thoughts (CYT) will be a publishing company, and I will be touring and doing seminar work,  that’s where I see this going and possibly having a book deal on the table.
What would you like readers to know about you that might surprise them?

I am an ordinary guy,  adore my wife and family above all else, and just want to chill and do the thing I love the most – help others change!
Steve’s attitude really defines the spirit of blogging in that he loves helping others. I love that about him and Change Your Thoughts. His sincerity really shines through.

I’ve enrolled in Steve’s free course Mind Alchemy and I hope to see you there too! Why not check it out? It’ll be fun too!

What a great choice for interviews :) I first came to understanding the concept of Change Your Thoughts Change your Life from Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes. I like the Steve’s choice to call it Mind Alchemy – and I’m very curious about his 28 day program. I just joined :)
