I once heard a story about a guy who could get radio channels through his silver fillings.
I thought that this was the coolest thing ever. But, since my mother didn’t allow us to listen to that “devilish rock and roll” I desperately, desperately, wanted a silver filling. The trouble was I was cursed with super-human teeth that never got any cavities!
Fast forward to the present – I’m here to tell you that you don’t need corroded teeth to receive information from the air-waves. Your body is intelligent and has been designed to receive all sorts of non-verbal signals, with our without you being consciously aware of them.
Everyday we receive thousands of impressions, and feelings from our environment and the people around us most of which we aren’t even aware of that help us survive.
Think of our prehistoric ancestors – wouldn’t it have been vital to their safety to “know” if a tiger were stalking them, or feel in their gut if danger was present? It’s the same today – there are still “dangers” in our everyday lives that threaten our survival which is why our intuition communicates with us whether we’re aware of it, or not.
But, if we’re not aware of it because the information isn’t imparted to us verbally, or we aren’t reading it, or hearing it, or seeing it – how are we receiving these impressions and feelings?
News flash: There are numerous other “senses” beyond the 5 senses we’re aware of that impart information to us constantly through our bodies. You are a walking talking intuitive radio receiver, and transmitter whether you know it, and whether you believe it, or not. You are intuitive!
Did you know that in the last decade science discovered “calcite micro-crystals” in the human pineal gland?
And, apparently, calcite micro-crystals have similarities to quartz crystal – which have been used to create all sorts of information technology.
So, could it be that the pineal gland is our “silver filling” for receiving all sorts of information from the electromagnetic fields around us? This is not a proven theory, as yet, but it may well be in the near future.
- The pineal gland has been called the “third eye” due to its location in the middle of the brain at the level of the mid forehead.
- It’s also the gland associated with the sixth chakra – which has been associated with psychic activity.
- Feelings of “directly knowing” something we have no explanation for are imparted to us by way of the sixth chakra.
Ever heard the term “gut feeling?” or “butterflies in the stomach?”
Another area of your body that acts as a receiver is your “gut.” Have you ever experienced the “fight or flight response” in a fearful situation? When your gut is activated you “feel” it.
The solar plexus, or gut where these physical sensations are found has been called, “the second brain.” It’s called the second brain due to the multitude of vital complex functions performed by our digestive system. When our digestive system is out of kilter our immunity suffers – which can leave us susceptible to illness and deadly diseases.
- The solar plexus, which is in the area of the naval, is where the third chakra is located.
- The third chakra is associated with wisdom, personal power and fulfillment.
- “Gut feelings,” or “butterflies in the stomach” are the direct result of your body receiving information and trying to get your attention to analyze this data.
Think about it – when you last had a gut feeling wasn’t it either a warning, or a signal to go ahead with something in your life? Is this not “wisdom?” And, wisdom that directly affects your personal power and fulfillment?
You are intuitive and receiving intuitive impressions all the time, whether you choose to accept it or not.
Receiving information intuitively is necessary and vital to your safety and security.
Here’s a short list of some of the most common ways you receive information intuitively on a daily basis:
1. Have you ever been aware that someone was looking at you? When you turned around you made eye contact with the person who’d been staring, right? How did you know this?
2. Did you ever answer answer the phone “knowing” who was calling? How did you know?
3. Have you ever thought of someone you’ve not seen for a long time and then randomly run into them, or heard from them? Why did you think of them after all that time?
4. Has a thought ever suddenly “stood out” and gotten your attention? You heard something like an inner voice urgently saying: Call Mom! And, even if you ignored it and got involved in something else – it nagged at you until you listened and called mom? This is also a form of “direct knowing.”
5. Were you ever trying to solve a problem in your life when suddenly out of the blue, when you were no longer concentrating on it – the answer came to you and you “knew” it was right?
6. Have you ever sensed something was going to go wrong? Or, had gone wrong? Or something bad had happened? You weren’t sure what but you felt it in your gut?
7. Did you ever meet someone and take an instant like or dislike to them? You just “felt” that you shouldn’t, or should associate with this person?
8. Have you ever sensed you were in danger long before it became obviously apparent? Did that fight or flight response kick in, or its milder early warning system the butterflies in the stomach? If you so you were getting this information via the “second brain.”
9. Were you ever compelled to do something – even though all the so-called experts tried to dissuade you? You just “felt” in your gut that it was the right thing to do and couldn’t shake it until you did it? And, it turned out to be brilliant?
How many of these 9 intuitive responses have you experienced? Has it been valuable to receive information in ways beyond the 5 senses? Has it ever helped you make a decision?

LOVE this post, Angela!
I also love it when I can quiet myself enough to listen to everything my body is telling me.
Thank you for putting intuition so beautifully into words … not an easy task!

Hi Angela, Good stuff, good descriptions of how this stuff works. Crack me up with your silver fillings story! Reminds me of a Stephen King novel, The Tommyknockers, I think it was.
You can count me in on #1–all the time. I’ve often done it in reverse, too. Stare at people from behind to see if they turn around. It works, most of the time. One time I freaked out a guy in a mall lol
#2 and #3, definitely. Works with email, too. Sometimes I just know I have something from someone. #7, yes, though I generally attribute that to body language and attitude and know there’s no way I can deal with someone like that (hostile, angry etc). I still try to keep an open mind, though.
I’ve known a few people who are quite good at distance viewing. There’s a forum I’ve visited where it’s a game. Someone places an object in a certain place and gives some hints about where it is and the size. People then have to “see” what it is. I’ve come pretty close a few times. Then there’s the friend in Europe–we tested it over and over–whether we could communicate telepathically. As soon as we get “zapped” we send an email to report what we saw or heard. But I had a sense he was lying half the time lol So I definitely used a gut thing there and finally was no longer friends with that person, for a lot of reasons but that was one of them.
Fun stuff

Hi Leah,
Thanks so much. I’m glad you found the article helpful and fun! We really are hard-wired to receive intuitive information – I just wanted to show that skeptics that whether they believe it or not, they are receiving this information. Remote viewing is fun. I do that in readings. I usually find myself outside the person’s house describing what it looks like to them. I go inside and walk around too – it’s fun – you’re right!
Why don’t you and I do it? You know we wouldn’t cheat on each other!
Angela Artemis recently posted..Why You’re Hard Wired to Receive Information Intuitively
OMG no way! You are NOT coming to look in my house! hahaha
I do think you’re right about the hardwiring thing. Let’s give it a try, the telepathy thing. We’ll have to set up a time. Heck you can make a post about the results lol We could do a remote viewing thing, too. I’ll clean my house (lol) and then set something somewhere and see how you do. That would be very cool! You can interview me and I’ll tell all your readers about it.

Hi Leah,
Yes, lets do this. It sounds like fun. I’ll email you.
About the pineal gland…it is also rue that the closest man-made substance to carbon, which is what we are–carbon beings, is silicon which is the material of cumputers. To me that means two things–computers are an extension of our beings and that as carbon beings we have computer-like abilities to link to knowledge and to extend our decision-making ability. There are so many connections between the human body, knowledge and the universe. “Biology of Belief” comes to mind.
Hi Rosemarie,
Yes, I’d forgotten that book. Biology of Belief – an excellent book. We do have so much more to learn about the capabilities of the human body. I believe that all of what we seem to call “the sixth sense” will be explained someday. I also believe that we all have these abilities – it’s just a matter of reawakening them and then using them.

Hi Angela,
I love your analogy about silver filings and receiving information from the air waves. Glad you don’t have any cavities!
I am fully with you when you say that our prehistoric ancestors were so much more intuitive than we were. They were in much better harmony with the world around them. This is why they could pick up many signals that we would miss and just know things.
I have always relied on my intuition to help my decision making process. I feel that is it the best of both worlds to combine logic and intuition. Of the common ways to receive information on a daily basis, I have probably experienced all 9 at one point or another. Not all of them are equally strong for me of course. The most common and useful ones I experience are being able to sense who I should not associate with, sensing danger and knowing the right solution to a problem.
Intuition is like a muscle for me. The more I use it, the better I become with it. Although I am familiar with the 3rd eye, I never knew that the solar plexus was the second brain. I am glad I found your blog Angela, it has been enlightening because I am interested in intuition.
Thank you for sharing this lovely article!

I’m so glad you’re interested in intuition. It is my life long passion!
And, it is like a muscle – you either use it, or lose it.
I’m happy to hear that you’ve been relying on your intuition to make decisions too. That’s music to my ears.
Your gut instincts are your second brain – and as you pointed out our ancestors needed their second brain to survive in the harsh prehistoric world. Sense danger or be eaten!
Thank you so much for coming by and adding your fascinating perspective here.
Hi Angela,
Don’t worry about it, the fault was mine and it is already behind us.
I have always found diviners fascinating because of their powerful intuition and ability to know things.
My favourite diviner of ancient China is Shao Yong who lived during the Song dynasty. They say that he was the Nostradamus of China. He divined the fate of the Song dynasty and knew that the northern half of China would fall to the barbarians after he died. Thus, he advised his son to move their entire family south where it would be safe.
I will also not forget the goosebumps raising experience I had when I had my first tarot reading about 10 years ago. After that experience, I made it a point to learn divination for myself haha!
Hi Irving,
I’ve never heard of Shao Yong – thank you for bringing him to my attention. He certainly did save his family with his divination skills, didn’t he?
I’m so glad you learned divination for yourself. What did you learn? Tarot? Using divination methods is a terrific way to develop your intuition, but I’m sure you’re already aware of that.
Hi Angela,
I learned to use I-Ching divination. I suppose there was something alluring to me about an ancient book of wisdom that I could also use as a divination manual. I did look at the Tarot but maybe it is because of my Asian background that made it easier for me to pick up the I-Ching with its Taoist and Confucian undertones. I’ve been using it for about close to 7 years and I find that I am better able to perceive the development of certain events through intuition alone. Of course I am still very young at 30 when it comes to such knowledge and awareness. But this is something I know I will always have a lifelong interest in. I only wish I had started earlier haha!
The Vizier recently posted..Laughter is Good for Your Soul
Irving,
That’s terrific. I do recall you’re telling me in another comment that you’d learned the I Ching. I think I mentioned I was interested in it for a while a long time ago, but it didn’t really “speak” to me like the Tarot. I started reading Tarot when I was 10 years old and that along with astrology are my favorite divination methods.
I can understand how the I Ching would resonate with you because of your Asian background. The one thing I didn’t like about the I Ching was that there were too many combinations for me to memorize. I feel that I having 78 cards is enough to memorize, which I have by now, obviously. I give you credit for sticking with it my friend.
I LOVE this topic, Angela! I’ve experienced all of the above, and I used to MUCH better at heeding the signals. I can say that ignoring them is ALWAYS a bad idea. Every time I ignore a signal, it leads me to an unpleasant place. And when I do heed the signals, many good things happen. It was #4 and #9 that brought my husband into my life!
Hi Ande,
I’m so glad you find the subject of intuition as fascinating as I do!
Definitely, ignoring intuition is ALWAYS a bad idea – I agree 100% and know this from experience.
Exactly, when you follow your intuition instead of what you think you “should” do – miracles happen!
Wow, I’d love to hear that story about how you met your husband. Cool!
Thanks so much for your comment here.
Hi Angela,
I’ve never experienced no. 2 what the heck is wrong with me. Did you mention once this happens the most often and it’s the easiest? Not for me!
And no. 6 I’ve never sensed that either. Not a lot has gone wrong in my life or a lot of bad hasn’t happened except for childhood crap but that doesn’t exist anymore.
So any advice on how I can sharpen these skills. I’ve experienced all others.
I also think people who can’t sell their homes can clean up their energy and it will sell faster. People are affected by the energy in the home when they enter. But you already know that and it’s why our sold;)
Tess,
I don’t remember if I said knowing who was on the phone was the easiest. I might have said it happens to a lot of people fairly often though. I wouldn’t worry about it.
The best way to sharpen your intuition is to create the intention to to develop it, and then make a note every time you experience something on the list. The more you pay attention to it – the more you’ll notice how much information you’re receiving intuitively. Before answering the phone – stop and ask yourself who’s on the phone. Don’t worry about being wrong. Go with the first name that pops into your head.
I agree about the energy regarding selling a home. I think you need to clear on the inside that you really want to sell – then your energy will be clear and you’ll attract a buyer.
Thanks so much for coming by and adding to the conversation here.
I have probably had them all of the above happen at one time or another.
The weirdest is when things like this happen:
Back years ago, I was a real estate agent…I was sitting in the office just talking with another agent about whatever…
Suddenly a vision of me hugging an old friend popped into my head. A few minutes later, my mom called.
She asked if I had heard from that friend. The ambulance had just been to my friend’s mom’s house and they said the mom was a Cancer patient. My Dad was a fireman and they heard this on the scanner….
No one had been privy to the woman’s illness.
A short time later, the woman passed away. and I was in a funeral parlor hugging my friend….just like my vision.
Another time I asked my stepson if he had seen his aunt (mom’s sister) lately and how she was doing….don’t know why I thought about her….
A week or so later, she passed away.
I often hear from people after thinking about them…
Hi Carolee,
That’s awesome. You’ve definitely got the ability! We are all connected – and your experiences prove that out very well.
Thanks so much for sharing this here with us.

“Knowing” is called claircognition – or clear knowing. You just know, that you know, but you don’t know how you know, right? I have this too.
Ah, that’s the best part – when we are in tune with our intuition our life just flows so magically, as you say.
And, yes, I know only too well what a struggle life can be when we ignore our intuition!

Hi Angela
What an interesting post and a great intro with the story about the man with the silver fillings.
Looks as though science is slowly catching up with what lots have people have always known.
BTW – As a public Speaker I certainly know all about “butterflies in the stomach” LOL

Thanks for enjoying the intro. I hadn’t thought about that in years!
I do believe that some day science will explain how all of these senses work, and then perhaps we will all accept that they are “normal” senses, and not para-normal. (I don’t like that terminology.)
Yes, I can relate to your butterflies in the stomach before public speaking. I’m a former Toastmasters member – and I too get them before speaking. After about 2 minutes they would subside and then I’d enjoy myself. I’m sure that’s the same with you though as you do it professionally.

Angela: Great information you have here. I totally agree with you that there are some things you can sense and if you are paying attention in the right way, there are things we know and signals we can pick up on. I think the key is to know that this is definitely an ability and then be on the lookout so you don’t miss opportunities to benefit from your intuition. I have definitely experienced several of the things you had on the list and I think as I became more and more aware that they weren’t just a coincidence, I started noticing more and more times that my intuition was pointing me in the right direction.

Angela, I’ve had some vivid experiences with #5 where I suddenly got a terrific solution to something I’d been struggling with for a long time. This tends to happen as I’m waking up–no longer asleep but not fully awake. It’s interesting that when I tried to focus on these problems I got nowhere, but when I stopped trying so hard the answer just came to me.

Thanks so much for coming buy and commenting. It’s so nice to see you!
I think it’s so interesting that we have “calcite micro-crystals” in the human pineal gland. Wow! I totally believe that we get information that isn’t totally through the 5 senses. Wish we knew for sure!
Betsy recently posted..Sundays in Colorado
Hi Betsy,
Isn’t that fascinating? It’s like we have crystals just like they had in the early radios receiving information.
I cannot wait for science to explain more of how intuition works.
Angela, I never thought about it as “numerous other senses beyond the 5 senses” – I really love how you give 9 examples or types of intuitive responses. It really demonstrates how many of us only tap into a portion of our senses/our ways of knowing/types of awareness
they way you break it down – really helps to “get it”
Hi Aileen,
I was just thinking of you! I heard The Nutcracker on radio and wondered how things were going?
Yes, there are other senses such as claircognition – “knowing,” or clairsentience – “feeling,” which are the two I focused upon in the article. There are numerous other “clairs” as well.
I’m so glad the post clarified things for you.
Thanks so much for coming by and adding to the conversation here.
Hi Angela, We really understand so little about how the human body, mind and soul works, don’t we! I frequently experience every one of the 9 things you listed. I also have an uncanny ability to find things…for others as well as myself. Even over the phone. For instance one time my mum was in a state because she had lost her wallet. I asked her a few questions about where she had been that day and was able to tell her that it was down the side of the front passenger seat in her friend’s car. I could actually see it in ‘my mind’s eye’ as mum used to say. Funny that! ‘My mind’s eye’ is an old fashioned way of saying (here in Ireland) that you could visualize something but it was probably taken from the old Celtic reference to the ‘third eye’. When I was about 2 years of age I used to terrify my older siblings with stories about green jumper, blue jumper and red jumper who used to visit me in the night. I also remember when I was about 5 years old, after my dad died, that I often couldn’t get to sleep at night because of a strange almost electrical buzzing sound in my ears. I distinctly remember my mom sending me back to bed and telling me to say my prayers to make it stop. I read many years later that this ringing sound is actually spirits trying to connect to us from a different frequency or vibration and I’ve often wondered if it was my dad’s spirit still with us. It’s great about the calcite micro-crystals in the pineal gland because like you,I feel sure that in years to come Science will find the link between our psychic intuition and our physiology. Thanks for a great post Angela
Rosemary recently posted..Are You Afraid of Your Authentic Self

I’d love to hear more about the “green jumper, blue jumper and red jumper.” They sound like a fascinating lot.
Yes, I’ve read that too about the buzzing in the ears. I used to get it a lot also, but I had no idea. I only learned about that being a way for you to know your clairaudience was opening up 3 years ago.
I hope to live long enough for science to validate many of our psychic experiences.
Thanks so much for leaving such a wonderful comment on this post Rosemary.
Very interesting Angela, I’m not a believer in your overall theme, but you have made some very sound points, and I like your writing style.
100% agree with your analysis of the stomach and gut feelings. I always had stomach problems when I was stressed. Fight or flight responses do produce chemicals in the body.
I don’t believe there is anything supernatural about the coincidences you listed. The psychologist Carl Jung had a similar theory called ‘synchronicity’. I didn’t believe that either.

Hi John,
Nice to “meet” you. I can appreciated your opinion and I thank you for sharing it here. I think we’ve only just scratched the surface when it comes to understanding our Universe and how we fit into it. I do think there is a scientific explanation for the Jung’s theory on Synchronicity. It’s just not been discovered yet.
I believe we’ll discover that we’re all connected by some energy matrix that is reactive to our every thought and move, just as a string would be that’s plucked on a guitar. When one of does something it affects the rest of us at some deep electromagnetic level. In other words, my tune is different than your tune, so when I do something I’ll activate those individuals who are attuned to me, and you’ll activate those attuned to you. The coincidences are created when we bump into those attuned to us.
I’m glad you enjoy my writing. I look forward to getting to know you better. Thanks for coming by.
